Was at the SBF Forum Anniversary at Marina South just now.

Saw these cub kia with a pillion zooming through the carpark where all the bikes are parked. Instead of slowing down for people who were standing in the middle of the carpark, our hero decided to swerve into the grassy parking slot area as though he was taking a chicane at the same rate of speed. What happened next was so predictable.

Road tyres and soggy muddy grass patches do NOT go together. If he was trying to impress the crowd, he sure did it in a grand style for all the wrong reasons.

Why must some people ride like speed racers in carparks just because there are people around or looking at them???

This same phenomena of revving the engine and taking off at breakneck speed also occurs along the narrow crowded Kelantan Lane in front of Lim Ah Boy's shop.

There is no reaction time at all should someone or some vehicle move into the path.

What are they trying to prove??

Like a tonne of bricks and real fast too.

Next thing is the whole group that was standing in the carpark went over to the the vicinity of the fallen biker and his pillion.

And it was not to help them coz I saw the 2 'heroes' standing up on their own, very muddied up and lifting up the cub kia by themselves.

They crowd were all looking at the swing arm of an R1 parked there!! :faint:

I guess the skidding cub kia left some marks when it careened into the R1 parked there.

To be fair, some bikers ride like they own the road also.....if not rushing for time and riding slower, please give way to anything that's faster.

Look at the situation and access...bikers do have no choice but to give up "right of way" commonly.

This thread has been going on so long but I still find some incidents and unhappy moments can be avoided by giving way. Ask not what you want of others, but ask what you can do to make yourself safer. There's no way to change the culture of road users here. We have to change ourselves to suit the situation. When stubborness comes head to head, God bless the rider's head.

If a biker constantly find themselves getting bullied on the road, then keep the bike for night time use when there's lesser cars or stash the bike aside for track riding. Normal commuting take public transport then. All these things are happening so many yrs ago, just that because we never put ourselves in a commuters' shoes. Then we are always in a bus or in the mrt, and we dun really care what is going on. We only care if the bus is fast or not and the jam is there or not.....it's a total different concern!!!

So let's just take it that we need not squeeze in the bus/mrt anymore, but we "squeeze" on the road with all the cars, lorries, bus and fellow bikers. It's still a squeeze no matter what.

haiz... the problem is they dun squeeze me only when there is a jam...

they will do the same thing even when there are so much space around... and i mean like 5 - 6 am in the morning when traffic is light...

so irritating...

i also begin to feel this way since my last incident with the 2 bikers who zoomed past so near me twice and open their throttle so loud right beside me (i was in btwn them).

My friends say maybe because I'm female so they try to "jisiao".

Or maybe my bike is a skipper cannot run away no matter how.

So is it cos of small cc... or because I'm female, it's very fun to bully?

:giddy:

And i noticed vehicles like to cut into my lane at the last minute thinking my skipper is slow enough to slow down in time. Or maybe they just do that to every rd user.

That makes SG roads dangerous!

:help:

its exactly same situation as me... haiz... only difference is mine's a runner... and sometimes i do open the throttle is im real pissed... :cheeky:

Actually, We were at fault also. :sorry:

We shouldn't have hog the road. BUT, they could have rode up slowly and WE would make way for them. But they choose to take the grass..

Lesson learned, Never conduct a group talk in the middle of the road, even in a carpark.

That's why never squeeze when 2 cars are side by side.....squeeze when they are staggered so at least got some space to squeeze out or jam brake to swerve into.

Another safety rule is not to squeeze during a bend....Take note sometimes not the driver lousy, but it's the car's steering alightment got some looseness, difficult to hold the line. Ask any driver who drove a car that's out of alightment, they will tell you it's hard to keep straight.

It's already hard to keep straight in a car when there's distraction like radio, nagging passengers, "where's my fav CD???" and "Darn!!! There goes my phone again".... :cheeky:

I dunno how old you are, but the more mature you get, the more you take such nonsenses on the road more lightly....let it bother you and it's gonna ruin your journey.

Ya ya....they reckless with you and the next thing you wanna do is to race up and kick bike..... :faint:

Wait later Uncle Sam comes along and only see you try to kick bike, you explain like mad the other rider disturb disturb also no use liao....

A true incident...a small bike with a pillon ever tried to kick my fren on a class 2 sportsbike.....My fren being a seasoned rider, simply go near the small bike as they attempt to kick him, guess what happened??? The small bike almost lost control and crash.... If you wanna kick, know who you are kicking :D And of course, I know you only said it out in a fit of anger.

Go join kickboxing class, can kick until shiok and also keep fit at the same time.
