I was waiting for someone to insist on right of way. Mr. Yat, Let me put it crudely, if a rider insists of right of way, said rider has the right to be injured also.

C'mon, think about it, when accident happens, rider pay using what? Drivers pay using what?

Ps. I've been involved in accident before so I learnt this the hard way. So I don't mean to offend anyone here but just don't want other to learn the hard way unnecessarily.

Years ago when i took my class 5 practical one laupek instructor told me even when you have the right of way, dont accelerate on junctions always be prepared coz some "kayu" will try their luck..

But **** happens,a month later,i was riding my pizza delivery bike, slowed on a junction, slowed down as there's a car on a stop line going to join the main road. He stopped, looked at me,next thing he moved off, thank god i was going slow, managed to brake and sweave but too bad my crashbar hit his bumper. His bumper dropped,i was uninjured..wonder how bad its going to be if i were not prepared..

He was damn lucky to be able to stand up straightaway. But why didn't he check before crossing?

I think tt one the pillion.

Maybe he couldn't see cuz you can see the vehicles lined up on the right turn lane, I think the car couldn't see either but didn't inch to see, just turn and hope, if it was a truck, the driver might die from getting T-boned, which would be fitting.

Anyway I always slow down, and flash my lights, I'll be checking behind as well, hopefully no one rear ends me, left and right for escape routes if I need to swerve, our population is an ageing one so there's alot of old incompetent drivers, ALOT but **** happens, I recently hit debris left behind by trucks , it was big enough to send me flying.

God willing the scumbag will be caught.

Ride safe bros.

I might have went after that driver...and casually break his mirror, if I could break his face without anyone knowing, I would. Mofos need to be taught a lesson.

Understood. No offence taken. I meant it as it is: green light is rider's right to go straight. There are best practices around and we've had our fair share of experiences. But let's just ask, how many times was luck on our side where we "did not check" due to various reasons and we were free from these?

Everyone agrees it's the driver's fault but at the same time what if rider didn't check because the driver on the opposite side did not even inch forward and stop to check before turning? Meaning driver just confidently turned right without braking. Nevertheless, the video's a good lesson for us all.

Sadly there is never right of way for riders. In any accident rider will always be the one getting hurt. I have encountered drivers making a right turn and stop in the yellow box obstructing traffic going straight merely just because they too impatient and had to stop as pedestrians are also crossing. Good thing I anticipated such and managed to come to a halt and slowly swerve and at the same tine pressing the horn to avoid a collision. Driver does not seem to care and not the least bit paiseh for creating such an obstruction. :sly:

Yesterday morning somethin similar happened. Luckily the rider was able to stop in time. Being a bit behind I pressed my bike's horn for him. Hopefully it did help in some way.

Yes man. Obviously we know that the drivers in the wrong. But as riders we do our part to minimize injuries to ourselves no matter who's right or wrong-to live one more day to see our loved ones. We do our checks and all, and God, or if you don't believe in God then luck, will take care of the rest..

Ride fast..ride safe..don't crash...

Got it, thanks for the advise.

While we're at the topic of "today while riding" - there's extra debris on AYE this morning to sort of practice our "slalom" skills. For some reason rubbish flew out of a Red Veolia lorry. :?

Few weeks ago I go over a metal plate at a bend at aye almost skid. When I see the plate it was already too late to avoid

Maybe next time can try straightening your bike and shift your body to the inside so that the bike lean angle isn't that much while takin the corner over the metal plate?

Ride fast..ride safe..don't crash...

Basically.I got less than 1 sec reaction time. Was behind a car I trying to overtake. Then suddenly see a plate.

Been seeing alot of debris on the roads nowadays. Especially after an accident after the vehicles involved are towed away. The derbris will be left on the road and will be scattered all around by other vehicles going over these debris. Pretty much dangerous for us riders. Something needs to be done about this.

usually TP will have a vehicle and hose the debris to the side.

So far,i see they only call up scdf to clear any oil spill, mud or sand but not broken glasses, small plastic parts..the small debris will cause tire puncture on ur bikes..

Same. Never see any TP vehicle for that purpose before too.

This is mostly due to idiots driving lorries not securing their goods properly. Well no one saman them, that's why.

did you had fingers on your brake while lane splitting? good reaction!

yes I have 2 fingers on my brakes all the time. anyone who know this S4 rider FY1011J please tell him to check first before moving off like that.

Think ticks means all riders/drivers should slow down when approaching a traffic junction. That's what we learnt at driving centres ma.

IMO, there's no such thing as "Right of way" in this world. I'd rather be safe than to insist my right of way.

Anyway, hope the victim is alright & the culprit will get his deserved punishment!

by right there is "right of way" but sadly in this country, you will have to fight the court case most of the time to defend your "rights". Unless it is clear case with witness and evidence.

In the video, unable to capture number plates, this even if report TP, I'm guessing that they might not act either. So need to self CSI for your "rights".

Add on to the fact that we are riders, I have long long ago (few years) throw away the concept of "right of way" and I advise all riders to do the same.

As someone has advised before, ride like everyone else on the road is your enemy and trying to kill you.

Should throw away the idea that the law will help you as well.
