The point is, are you going racing or on the road? The choice is yours.

Ride safely or spend more money?

I'm just offering an argument for discussion.:thumb:

this does not apply for racing only my dear.. there are proper specs for tyre pressure to ride in our road condition.. o_O

we can ride safely, but pple still can bang us right??

and definately save money of course.. but spend a bit for your safety is wise enough, 1 of my principles

Here is the verdict from my mechanic.

There are a few answers/guesses:

1) The gear sub, the rod which connects your clutch pedal to the engine is bent. This causes the gear to be engaged, or even hard to drop the gears.

This rod is horizontally attached to the engine. If you ever fall to the left, this rod might bend. (This is the best guess)

2) The gear selector is fixed the other way round. I told him that you had your bike re-bored and piston changed, so his guess is the gear selector is wrongly fixed. (You might wanna do this after you check the above)

3) Engine oil does not cause the problem mentioned.

Hope his verdict is useful. Good luck and all the best!:thumb:

Hello :)

Thank you very much for your efforts :) However neither one fits my problem... believe me, i'm mechanic myself (certified actually) and those both problem solutions would be very obvious... well, for me at least :)

I have changed the gear pedal (gear lever actually) 4 times already since i got my Z, they always wear out quickly (because i really make a lot of kilometers) and there is no bent and it's also not the wrong way round - in such case i would shift UP to get first gear and DOWN for the others :)

I will see what the next oil change does - maybe it's get better, maybe not, and maybe it's really the clutch that's already worn down (that was a genuine Yamaha one). How long do they last normally if ride mostly in city traffic (lots of gear shifting!)?

With kind regards....

Ok. But my mechanic is referring to your gear sub, not the gear pedal. It is attached to you engine.

Anyway, I tried. Unless you could bring your bike here and let my mechanic see.

Good luck.:thumb:

The point is, are you going racing or on the road? The choice is yours.

Ride safely or spend more money?

I'm just offering an argument for discussion.:thumb:

it will last long, included if u know how to set the correct air pressure according to the weather temperature/ conditions (hot, cold, rain shine) with or without pillon, how far u usally travel..

wat do u mean no point?? japan is made with quality rubber materials, whereas thai is just the same model but usin cheaper rubber compound, in other wrds, slipperier (if there is such words) hehehe

tot most old tai knows bout japan quality..

There's no point getting the Japan version when there's Thai. It's the same brand nonetheless, expect no difference. Unless of course you compare it with Bridgestone Battlax, or Duro.

Why spend money on something that is not gonna last?

Haha.. relax guys.. what supervivid say is correct.. the choice is yours.. :thumb:

But i also agree with pendek about one of his principles..

Spending more on safety would be a wise decision..

I was asking about the Japan tyres because I know their quality..

It can be the same tyre model but there must be a difference if it is made from different countries..

If Japan made is more quality made than Thai one,

I think I should go for Japan one..

For me it's better to spend more money to buy something more quality rather than to spend something cheap but does not last long..

Investing our money for quality and safety do help us in the long run..

When we invest our money to buy the right things for our bike,

satisfaction guaranteed man!! :thumb:

In other words, riding our bike will be a pleasure for us..

That's what riders like us go for! The PLEASURE OF RIDING!!

Just My opinion.. huhu.. :cheeky:

Cheers guys! :thumb:
