hey guys..

is it possible to make single seater for rxz?

and what's the cost range like?

 

how about a new seat? how much would it be?

 

anything is possible to be made. but a single seater on a rxz... eeeew!!

ive seen a guy who do up his seat making it look like a single seater on the road and it dosent suit the bike at all. if it looks nice on a rxz the mould could be easily gotten anywhere...

ive seen a guy who do up his seat making it look like a single seater on the road and it dosent suit the bike at all. if it looks nice on a rxz the mould could be easily gotten anywhere...

$55 for original heavy duty? Hmmm I thought its $30+ inclusive of installation.

Currently using RK Takasago X-ring gold chain for 1yr + now. Quite long lasting and the gold color of the chain still remains when chain is washed thoroughly and lube. Bought from Auntie shop for S$75 for chain + sprockets + installations

 

 

 

Hi Thanh how've you been? Asahi brand chains and sprockets? In sg only got Asahi beer!

 

$30 must be a normal 428 chain and not heavy duty ones.

Gotta as ask a few qns here..

 

1) I need to setting balik my bike (pin jet, main jet, pilot jet, ape² jet ah..jetstar skali). The reason is because my bike is "bobok". Like got no power. When u start then u pull throttle immediately, there's a noticeable lag(like the bike is gathering energy) then baru WHAAAAAAAANG!!! Also, at rpm 4-5k, my bike like got PET!PET!PET!PET! sound from the pipe. Not the usual PEEEEEEEET! sound. A friend told me full setting about $50. (wont need much money i heard but since it involves changing engine parts i rather go singapore and play original)

 

there's no engine parts involve to change when u do up the setting. its just main jet and pilot jet that u need to change inside ur carb. if u want to go back to original setup main jet 210 pilot jet 2.25.

go to agent and u will be spending only $12 for both. DIY urself. then go to the nearest bike shop and ask them to tune ur air which is f.o.c.

 

Okay enough of sound effects, where can i do my full setting? Dont really trust jb. Scared they give local parts.

 

doing your bike at JB dosent mean local parts. if u always go to one shop and do your normal services there they will be honest with you.

 

2. I need sprocket size (front and back) for long distance travelling. Long distance means Tampines to Clementi and back everyday. Heheh. Now, sprocket size 40 back front dunno. RPM 7, 100km/h wtf! Basikal pon lagi laju sak.

 

im using f16 r38 rpm 5.5 at 100km/h

 

3. I need to buy brake pump original. Original giler babi nye coz i've been having trouble with my brake for 1 year plus. Did a lot of things but i guess changing to original brake pump should do the trick coz my brake pump local.

 

scrapyard is the best place to find them plus its cheap.

bought a brake pump overthere before at only $20. try bikeyard at tractor road lane M3

 

4. I miss u guys. Working hard at mac TECC to clear off many things. (motor dahbis bayar btw WOHOOOO!)

 

I am riding the 1999 RXZ. If i want to change my bike headlight, sideboard and tail light including Brake Light to the current model RXZ Model. Is it direct both on or I have to modified to get it fix on? I understand that I need to change the headlight. Does anyone know where can i buy all the item?

 

if your using the ycls coverset and intend to change to a catalyzer coverset here are the things u haf to get.

 

- head stay bracket to mount the catalyzer head

- catalyzer head with the lights and signals set.

- side board left and right plus center piece.

- catalyzer tail light

 

I remember buying DID heavy duty chain and rear sprocket for $35 at LAB inclusive of installation. NO front sprocket.

Bro can check at automachinery at rowell road they have original yamaha parts but kinda expensive? You can also try Ah Boy but must specify to him original if not he give local.

another one would be ban hoe leong at jalan besar plaza. i find this place is abit more cheaper then automachinery

 

LAB u need to have bargaining skills and also if you are a familiar face there sure got discounts and freebies. My friend went LAB and change chain and sprockets (front and back) for S$30+ inclusive installations.

 

Btw bro your bike u modified issit? I faced same problem as you before (settings and sizes for pin jet and main jet all **** up) recommend you change all original setting for comfortable riding. Original RXZ settings (including chain sprockets) can get you up to 160km/h! Well just my opinion ah since I using original settings.

 

Oh yeah and the stuff you looking for like brake caliper can find at scrap yard bro good luck

 

guys,may i know what tools do i need to remove my exhaust? im fixing on the 3bs exhaust.. aniwae rite,may i know is there any filter or look like sponge inside the exhaust for the silencer>? or issit just empty?

 

remove exhaust the 2 front screw size 12 the one at the footrest is size 17.

that sponge like thing is actually fiber. if ur using the catalyzer pipe that is free maintenance pipe which has no fiber. for the 3bs pipe after long usage ur fiber will burn off and it starts to get noisy and a lil bit lost in performance.

ups lah blurchaoz btw I had a big argument with the uncle at ban hoe leong thats why I never go there anymore. But i do admit his prices of some parts are cheaper too.

 

And if I had the time I would have joined you guys for your outings (Pendek would know) however given my jobscope its kinda impossible for me to squeeze time for outings maybe once in a while would be fine. Oh yeah do you know where can I get my hands on high polish parts for RXZ?

high polished parts theres a shop opposite lorong bapok. double H.

they do 1 to 1 exchange plus top up.

 

if u want to do up a full chrome on your bike it will be $1700 except the bike frame not chrome up.

 

if u want to do a cheaper method DIY. paint remover, autosol and sand paper.

Cos my battery flat after 1 week even though i hv charge it.

try changing a new battrey first bro.. dont jump into a new rectifier straight away. unless if you know that ur bike battrey is still new then try changing ur rectifier.

I start the bike and measure the battery volatage and the result was 6+V and when i throttle to rmp 3-4, the voltage increase to about 8V.

RXZ battery is suppose to be 6V or 8V??

 

Anyone can help me.

Hi.

 

Check if the voltage increases when you turn the lights on/off. The voltage is supposed to be 12V when the engine is off (battery voltage) and between 13.2 to 14.4 Volts when high rpm (5,000+ rpm).

 

If the battery is deep discharged (below 10 Volts) it usually can not recover, if so then only for a short time. Replace it.

 

When the rectifier output voltage (battery connected!) stays below 12 respective 13.5 Volts, it could be the rectifier or the generator coil (RXZ uses light/charge coil two-in-one which is why the lights have influence on charging). Bring it to the shop and have them check the rectifier first (sitting under the tank) because it can just plug in another and see if it works, if not change the coil (soldering required!)

 

For me, rectifier blown once, coil twice already (in over 45,000 kilometers).

another question is where the coil as you juys have mentioned. It is the one near the engine cover?

 

Any idea how much/reasonable price to change the rectifier and the coil so that wont kanna chop by motorshop.

its on the left side of ur engine cover.... mechanic have to remove your engine cover, ur magnento case then u will be able to see your magnetic coils... theres a total of 3 coils over there.. the mechanic should know which one to change...

Hi.

 

That is sitting in the generator ("magneto"), to get to it you have to remove the gear lever from the engine, take the left side engine cover off and remove the flywheel. The generator is below that and the coil is part of it, it can be removed and swapped but requires the wires to be de-soldered and soldered onto the new one.

 

To remove the flywheel a special tool is required!

Hi.

 

I can do that but i am afraid it would not help you too much because i live in Bangkok/Thailand :)

 

The coil cost about 350 Baht (aftermarket, original is not available) and the rectifier (original) 850 Baht, aftermarket one 450 Baht (it's what i use).

 

You can also use the coil from a Kawasaki "Victor" which fits in the RXZ's magneto "just so", it produces higher power (65/35 Watts vs. RXZ's 45/25 Watts) but gets hotter, too, and hence burns out even faster. I used it for a few months only then it was broken again.
