Wat's ur rear sprocket size? Coz small sprocket size, the tendency of loose chain is more frequent than those wif bigger sprocket. And mayb u cn check on ur swingarm rubber...:thumb:

I'm having the problem also. Small sprocket and my chain loose like 1 week gitu with 7 days of riding.

Which one can prevent it from loosing fast? Using 428 chain, 425, 415 chain? Currently using 428 DID gold bought at jb.

Hi.

I am actually interested in a solution for that problem, too. Destiny (my red RXZ) has a small rear sprocket (34) and is missing that rubber on the swing arm, it is another of those parts which are no longer available here, and the chain there is also loose all the time (it is still quite new so it still lengthens quickly).

But also on Bulldozer i need to adjust chain tension frequently and with both bikes this means a lot of fumbling due to the rear disk brake setup/brake pad alignment.

I was thinking of fitting one of those automatic chain tensioners as found on dirt bikes, however here in Thailand we have hardly any dirt bikes and i just simply can't find such item anywhere?

What it does, in simple terms, it uses a movable arm, a roll (rubber or plastic) and a spring to press against the chain from below the swing arm and keep the chain in proper tension at all times while still allowing enough "slack" for swing arm movement.

Best regards.....

my sprocket size's 38. swingarm rubber ? is it located near footrest ? cause i noticed a rubber yg da koyak near there

Yeah... Tat's the one. It kinda lifted ur chain abit to giv the chain and ur swingarm abit of clearance so as to prevent the knocking of chain and chipping of ur swingarm. I don't noe wat's the general name for it but I just anyhow gasak only call it "swingarm rubber". But since any mech I wen to reacted to it, the name stays. Hee...

Not sure abt those particular chain sizes thgh coz to me, having tried out 428 lah, 425 lah, 415, my chain needs regular tightenin wenever I use sprocket tats lower than 40 teeths. So yeah, my experience, ur gain. Hee...:thumb:

Yep! Heard of tat before. I hav one which I use it on my cross-country moutain bike. It's supposed to be for freeride/downhill bikes and not supposed to be there. But who cares? As long as I still hav slick shifting of gears without the fear of my chain slipping, I don't giv a damn!

Ok2, stop wif the mtb and back to the topic. Actually I tried installin it, my mtb chain guide, on my RXZ last time, guess it didn't last long. The roller guide wear out within a week or two and then finally didn't even turn. And then, the heavily modified mount bracket to accomodate our beefy swingarm finally gave up and was lost forever in one of the Spore's highway... :(

And yeah, it cost me a bomb to get tat but in the end got lost all in a sake of experiementing. And will cost me an atomic bomb to get the scrambler's ones...:faint:

Have you guys checked ur suspensions? Check whether it is hard or soft...suspensions play apart in loosening our chains too

Oooooo.... Lesson learnt!!!:thumb:

Oh ya..even if u frequently pillion ppl, that could loosen the chain too. There is a scientific ans but its too chim to explain :cheeky:

Basically its just the weight put on the bike,eg,ur weight is 60kg,if ur suspensions are soft..they cannot tahan ur weight and have to distribute the weight to other parts of the bikes so the chain somehow "strecthes" itself thus causing loosening of the chain..same goes for riding with a pillion unless ur pillion is superlight..just imagine u are holding a string horizontally tightly and ask some1 to place an object on the string..start with a lightweight object then heavy 1..then u will see how the string loosen naturally using the same strength of the grip..so the conclusion is weight is a factor on how frequently u need to tighten chain:thumb:

Guys for chain that always loose..try check your swing arm bush bearing. One the fault that i came across wen my chain kept loosing...using 15" frnt 34" rear sprocket. Cost my $80 buck for that swing arm bush bearing. You could check it out yourself wen u mainstand the bike..shake the the swing arm left to right / right or right to left..if the dat prob arise..its time to change your swing arm bush bearing. Hope it may came in handy for you guys out there..
