i'm actually making an order for a 165cc racing cylinder kit made for the rxz. anyone interested?

it includes:

165cc block

piston & rings

piston wrist pin, clips

head and base gasket.

No modifications required just put it on your rxz and be prepared to fly

Hi.

With that your are moving towards "super short stroke" - the piston speed will be very high and the imbalance will be very high, too. Also you are getting into the grey area where the YEIS system (boost bottle) may stop working - it's volume is calculated to support 135cc displacement but it still works at 150cc short-stroke..

I was told the max. displacement that can be reached with an original RXZ block (by boring it up and using a bigger liner/sleeve) is 180cc, using a specially modified piston from some Kawasaki. This would be ultra-short stroke, the YEIS needs to be either disabled or re-calculated (need bigger boost bottle).

The piston has to be balanced or your con rod bearings will be destroyed quickly.

Also with such large increase in bore the top block HAS to be adapted - the combustion chamber will otherwise not perform and you are giving power away, risking a pinking engine run as well.

RXZ block can be simply bored to accept RXK piston, no modification to such piston is required (weight, if original, is same as RXZ piston!) and that gives 150cc. I am riding one such in daily commute.

Best regards.....

Hey RxZ peeps. I need to enquire certain things about RXZ. My friend rode an RXZ and when he throttle to RPM 4-5 at any gear, the RPM will go down/ die down despite maintaining the throttle there.

Any solution for this? I tried the idle setting and there seems to be no change despite setting it higher.

Another problem is that sometimes after about 30-45minutes, it feels as though his engine there is burning as we can smell 'burning' overheat there. Those smoky smell. I cant seem the find the reason behind this. =/

Hi Thanh

So does using a rxk piston give u any problems?what are the benefits and disadvantages??i heard some rumours that using Rxk piston is prone to piston jam..is it true??thanks:)

Hi :)

I have done so far 23,000 kilometers with mine and no problems at all. It is RXK piston 1.25 oversize. But there is noise as is typical when using a large diameter piston, that's the only downside.

I can not say what exactly the difference would be vs. a standard size RXZ piston because my block is additionally also ported, my engine develops about twice the stock horse power and a LOT more torque than stock (am running chamber pipe, too, but stock carb and air box).

The "piston jam" thing could be true, as with any engine modification that generates more power it is of course a good idea to increase the 2T intake. In my case, i am running a fully open 2T pump (here in Thailand nobody cares if a bike smokes) and i never had an engine problem.

Best regards.....

Thanks for the reply Thanh, btw what do u mean by RXK piston 1.25 oversize?i thought RXK piston is size 2.00,the largest bore our block can hold???

Hi.

The largest bore our blocks can hold is something resembling a full 180cc displacement..... RXK is already quite much larger than an RXZ with 2.0 oversize :) RXK piston gives 150cc displacement...... and of course RXK, too, starts with 0.0 and goes all the way to 2.0 in oversizes, in increments of 0.25.

If your already bored your block to 2.0 oversize for RXZ and want to keep your block, next you can bore to 0.0 RXK.... giving you 150cc. Then you can continue running it that way and bore again until you reach 2.0 for RXK.

After that you'll have to replace the liner/sleeve and start over at 0.0 RXZ size.... or start experimenting with even larger bores/displacements, however it becomes tricky as the boost bottle becomes insufficient at larger displacements and also the balance will be off. Oh, and it is illegal, too, i guess (here in Thailand nobody cares).

Kind regards.....

Oh... I think over here, they won't know till they open up the block and see the piston size I guess. So yeah...

Anyway, I've been runnin my Z wif a really, REALLY oversized piston and they hav yet to catch me. Tis tis the pic of my piston before placing it in my block...

Massive Piston.jpg

... Yeah, I think it's size is 999.75 and u need a crane to hoist it in. Almost to it's max size alrdy...:p:faint:o_O:):cheeky:

any of you guys here removed your chain before? i scared i will break the connecting pin for the chain. any advise?

I hav once removed my chain before. Using a bike chain cutter/breaker tool to push out the pin in other to join a few more chain to make it longer. Prob is, The chain cutter is meant to on push out the pin and not to connect it back. I hav to use my bicycle chain cutter in other to push the pin back in and yeah, it works just fine now. But sad to say, my bicycle chain cutter, not meant for heavy duty, took the brunt of it and the guide broke...:faint:

My advise is, if it's anythin got to do wif chain, go to ur prefered mech and let them handle all the dirty job... ;)

I always change my chain myself. So far no problem.

what grade of eo you all using? currently im on 10w40, which is recommended for rxz?

For 2-stroke bikes, 10w40 is recommended.

cause im planning to take out the chain and soak it in kerosene to clean it thoroughly, rather than brushing it as usual. haha. try something new..

Then stop doing that ie dragging and excess speed of 80 during running in.Best is try to pour some 2T into the fuel tank once weekly. Its okay to exceed 80 but have to slow down.
