WAt is VFR stand for??

Hello Jeff, VFR is actually a bike model from Honda! there is VFR400, 750, 800. What is unique here is actually that the VFR is a V4 engined machine and the VFR800 is voted the best sport touring machine for consecutive 3 years! Maybe the other viffer would like to add some comment here?

Wah lauuuu you guys are big help man, People ask for meaning you give this type ah  GREATTTTT! keep it up yokers.

Seriously. VFR as some one already pointed out is V four engine. V, because the cylinders are aligned in a V formation with two cylinder leaning forward and the other two leaning back to form a V. As a comparison, the Honda Super four is an inline four engine with all four cylinders aligned in a row.

F becuase there are four cylinders.

Hence the VF. The R at the end is a marketing monicker that is tacked on to make it sound faster- as in R for Racing? or Race Replica or rabid heh heh

Which model is voted best sports bike?? The V tec or the FI ??

The VFR800Fi. Not for the Vtec now cos it's kinda new & the market is now loaded with tons of competitors! i believe it was voted for year 1999, 2000, & dunno is it 1998 or 2001! so sorry! Heehee! Those serious viffer out there can advice?

The VFR is a sports tourer so it cannot compete in the sports bike category. In the sports-tourer category, the VFR is arguably the best for very many years even though other manufactueres are throwing new models to try and dethrone it.

As for which is the best sprts bike, it depends on who you ask and which magazine you read. There are annual BOTY ratings in all the bike mags so you will need to read them and decide for yourself.

At the moment the K3 is hot and so is the 954 (in the open sports category).

Shawn, I don't think so. The lowest that i heard a 98' VFR being sold is around $9K and the condition was very good.

The owner spend around $1k cause he had to change the tyres, chain, sproket and do a valve adjustment.

Thanks! But i know there is a silver 96' VFR750 going for $6k. But the mileage is over 100,000km, so i am not comfortable with the deal. Wat do ya think? Which year is the earliest VFR800 model?

Does the 96' VFR750 come with a High mount Staintune exhaust ?

If there is the one, the price is abit on the high side. I've seen the owner .

High mileage is one thing but if the bike is well maintain, it should be a problem. I believe some of the VFR800 riders have pretty high mileage on their bikes too.

For the 96' VFR. 100,000k is not high for a 7 year old bike. My bike is abt 4 years and my bike has pass the 80k mileage mark.
