i guess that what they mean by cruise is relex or maintain at a comfortable speed, and not say u have to go 140 or 150... 8 valves will be in use when u travel below (7000 rpm) 168km/hr ... after that 16 valves will be in use ... if i were to travel at 190km/hr and call it cruising do you think i will save petrol?? ... best is still stay in the 90/100 in singapore and must do the 220/254 in malaysia ... hehe.

it all boils down to the individual rider ... Cheers mann.

Right...

Just did a calculation after my second petrol top-up. Average of 16 km/litre. Which boils down to approx 350 to empty... (As if I'm gonna ride till the last drop).

But at least, it gives me a ballpark figure of when to top up. A safe bet would be at the 310-320 km mark.

Cheers Rep-56!!!

Dudes,

Does anyone have any recommendation for bungee/cargo nets for the rear seat. How does it mount???

I used a single cord bungee and somehow, it was tight enough and I destroyed my wife's helmet when it was flung off the bike.... *sigh*

cargo net is the way to go to secure a helmet to the rear seat. They come with four hooks which can be secured to the hook points and the passenger grab bar; or you can loop one of the squares around each grab bar to increase tension if need be. I use them all the time and is a simple but very useful for helmet strapping and many other stuff as well.

Huh??? 25 deg? Is it the ambient temperature or the engine temperature?

The digits on mine for engine temp will start at 35 deg. Below that, it'll be two dashes... So, I'm kinda wondering whether you got it on ambient or engine temp settings.

By the way, if you guys notice that the sticker just above the swingarm states that the front tyre pressure should be set at 36 PSI whilst the tyre recommendation is 42 PSI. Which one to adhere to, ah?

Bro,

Chun bo???? Not follow the recommended settings on the tyre wall? I'm afraid that if I follow the manufacturer's settings on the bike, I might drastically reduce the life of the tyres due to under-inflation.

I've been using this pressure and find its the best for tyre life and handling for street riding. I use BT020.

That's a bit high. I had that problem due to a faulty thermostat plus faulty fan switch. CHanged both and the fan now comes on at 100, off at 95. Temp never exceeded 103 degrees ever since.

loufu,

use metric leh!

Highest mine ever been was 108 deg cen while stuck in Causeway jam but fans will kick in. Revving your engine helps cool it down. But I switch off engine then push, not because worried about overheating but because my eggs were being hard-boiled.... Hargh!! Hargh!!!

Believe it or not, I had seen 124C on my VFR before.

Stuck in a jam and the bike auto shutoff after that.

Coolant was overflowing like a coke can.

First time flushing the coolant myself and did a lousy job. Lotsa air pockets.

Now after a few annual practises, no more lousy jobs. :)
