Talking about ghost encounters during army days, had a couple of eerie incidents.

 

11th mono intake 3rd Guards. was doing guard duty (that time I was still a chao recruit) prowling near the gates overlooking ECP. heard a baby crying. but didnt see anything.

 

field camp at tekong. while laying down on the ground sheet talking to my section mates at night, saw lady in white sitting atop the tree.

 

but the worst one was during my VM course at Ayer Rajah Camp. was so gungho wanted to do prowling at 12am as I heard many stories so wanted to see for myself. it was about 130am when me n my buddy decided to take a break behind the power station at tank lane near the tanglin trust school. my buddy was fast asleep when i saw someone in temasek green went up on some ammo boxes n adopted the high kneeling position with his rifle (dun think it was an M16 nor a SAR21). desperately woke my buddy up n fast walk back to the guard room. along the way we walked past a sentry post near the factory gate n saw another fellow soldier in temasek green emerging from the post with his rifle n he adopted the proning position. the next day while having guard rest i dreamed about those 2 soldiers n got high fever attend C for 4 days.

 

a fren of mine saw the same thing. during guard rest he fell off the bed n started murmuring something to himself in england english. i ran to OETI called my master sergeant (MSG Alias and SSG Jebat) they went up by the time my fren was going what happened? what happened? n then he passed out. brought him to Alexandra was admitted for a week n had to go for head scan for a number of times. got excused from guard duty till ORD. he too told me that he wanted to see for himself. got more than what he bargained for.

 

learnt my lesson. dun ask for trouble, especially when it deals with this kind of eerie things.

anyone from formally from Ayer Rajah Camp wish to share their experiences? during my 6 months course there i've heard alot of stories. painter fell n died at the MT line lah, the VM who pump tyre which burst into his face lah, the halloween party which one of the man got possessed lah..hmmm

I was posted to ARC before my service ended buddy.

 

Painter died was during my time. VM pump tyre burst, and the MTO died. Malay guy but this was very much earlier, prolly 80s or 90s time.

 

Painter died was very one very sad incident. He fell head first from the top of the MMC workshop. And best part, his head fitted right into the tiny drain.

 

The following week, guards saw his apparition sitting by the kerb, looking at the floor with a very sad look. We modified the prowl route slightly so that prowlers do not need to pass that lane for a couple of weeks.

 

VM incident was he pumped too much air into the tyre. Burst. Killed his MTO and the latter apparently came back.

 

The MT Line for ARC, there's a pontianak lurking at nite esp. for ambulance drivers. There was once, this indian sgt was sleeping in his white undies in the MT Line. Guard saw a dark skinned apparition with white undies. Guard run away. Thought it's the malay folklore "orang minyak". (Sorry not being a racist but this was the actual incident)

 

They ran to the open field and only stopped when the sgt called them and said he's not a ghost.

 

The EMC building toilet is said to be haunted by a pregnant lady. How true? I don't know. During my time no encounters on that.

 

But of course, no ghost can ever beat this one guy. U see him only u wish the earth swallow u up.

many years ago when i was 15, i like to go late night cycling with my friends.

and they like to blade , on one such occasion when we went out, my bike tyre burst , so have to walk from east coast all the way back to tampines. my good friend accopany me as he lives in bedok. as we walk along the way, wayway after the chalet, we saw this kid cycling past us. we joked that wa so ggod life so young still have not sleep, some more not school holiday. after around 15mins / we hear a bell . and turn around and saw this kid going past us again .

this time we were like ,er he cycle so fast come back around us again meh??

we didint really care..

but this time when we hear the bell again , we start getting puzzled . wa this is the second time he past us... how the hell he go round us?? by the xpress way or the 2 lane road? but still too fast to come around us again ma....

guess what .. soon wwe hear the bell again ,

we he is about to past us, i shouted oei..... u think racing ah.. go past us so many times not tired ah ...

but he did not reply

AGAIN .. we hearr the familiar bell, this time i turn around, where u going?? not tired ah? so late u still cycle around. as he slowly past us... and we return to continue our journey,

 

THIS TIME we froze as we saw that the boys head is facing us his body facing away and the bicycle is moving away from us . after around 50m it jus stop and the bicycle is like moving backwards towards us with the boy face still facing us.

i said to my friend can cycle like that meh?? and this time comfirm the body is facing the froent and head is facing the back .

we turn and run to the main road , i abandon the bicycle. luckily there is a cab and he stop for us . we got in and left ....blabbering to the cab driver.. but i think he understand as he zoom off first before stopping some hwere and ask where we want to go and what happen

There was this Fri nite my fren jio me go supper at 3am. So I changed and went down to my bike and rode out. As I just turned out from the carpark, I saw this old man pushing a baby's pram along the pavement.

 

I just just wondering to myself so late still bring baby out and as I passed him, I turned to look at him and the pram. The pram was empty.

 

But heng at the moment in time I did not feel any fear or wat lor, just felt very bizzare... but when I told my fren over supper, then I realised it is really kinda creepy... dunno the one I saw is real person or not.

Mine dun think consider ghost encounter bah....few years back i had this thai pendant from my mum (duno got from wea) and after i got this pendant every nite i have bad dreams....and the only dream i can remember i was in the car with (sumbody which i cant remember) and suddenly the person drove me to cemetery and ask me to get out of the car so i follow the instrutions. And when i got off the car the person just drove away and i keep running and shouting the person to stop the car, but the person ignore me and i can hear pple luffing at me. Then i saw my family member in the car wif the person. My sis keep smiling at me and i kept crying....then phone ring woke up liao But after a few days i told my parent about it then they ask me to pass the pendant to them and i took out the pendant i saw the frame already dent in. But they say much to me and say will send it away. After they send away i have no more bad dreamz le.....

 

Another one is few months back i was at west coast park.....(i dunno how to describe the place) was walking towards the carpark and there were lots of trees beside me then i smell sumthing like flower smell and very fresh but i nv bother and continue to walk then walk further up ahead i smell sumthing very smelly like "sh*t" i shout very loudly kaoz eh so smelly sia...my fren just keep quiet and whisper to me later then tell me. when we reach carpark and get in th car, my fren told me sumtime this kind of smell is the potinak (dunno hw to spell) smell. But till now i still think the smell is from the drain, i also dunno.

was in the 2001 intake.. yes.. prayer rooms at 1st level near the lift... no stories heard.. but platoon mate in platoon 2 section 4 everytime ganna in his bunk.. opening n closing of windows.. etc.. spent my bmt days there.. nothing much happen in my bunk expect during the CNY holiday... booking in on the 3rd day of CNY.. darn.. damn sian... one of my bunk mate started using the red pail to act as a drum walking around the room to play some music n joke around..to cheer everyone up as.. u all know... 3rd day must book in liao... sad... haha... that faithful nite.. he ganna disturb ... wahaha.. the light above him suddenly lights up .. thinking so fast 5.15am liao.. he woke up.. but realisng that its only 1145hrs.. he tried to switch the light above him off but to no avail.. in the end he sort of turned the tube to disconnect its power... woken up around 11.59 for toliet break but due to his buddy OOC liao.. he goes to the toliet alone.. nothing happened..

but when he was abt to slp.. he was a shadow at the end of the room pacing in the dark.. he totally freak out.. hoho...

there was this other time i was in malaysia.

was walking back to my mums house from the pasar malam

 

i remember i have to go through a few terrence houses to go home. i have to cut through the playground, as i did that , i notice the surrounding was very quiet.

but at that time i ddint feel any thing, so i continued walking, than i noticed there is this tree 30m in front of me.. the whole tree is shaking. onli than i stop to think werid every where is not moving . no wind is blowing how come the tree shkae like have very strong wind by then i onli 10 m from the tree... still i can see the tree shaking but no wind , and i know i am not dreaming . onli than my hair all stand ... and my god... realy stand . i was like CB die, dun tell me kanna again .

 

 

i heard noises at the back of me... i slowly turned back and strained my eyes to see that there is a group of 4 person walking through the park . so i jus stand there , half glancing at them and at the tree which is still moving..

when this family saw me standing there , they also stop talking is like they can see my fear there. the guy i pressumed the husband and father said something in malay .. jagun takut, ikut kita.(apologise if i spelled wrongly) he carried one of the child and so did his wife and held my shoulder . as we were lik 5 m from the tree , it is still shaking .

and it is still shaking when we pas it , and i can swear i did not feel an ounce of wind blowing . when passing the tree, my heart thumping furiously and hair all standing liao.

 

after passing the tree, and a few meters down the road , the guy ask me to pergi and something soemthing.

This happened to my father who was working in the marine line.

 

He was a engineer for the cooling unit for ships. So he was assigned to this ship which was importing and exporting frozen meat from countries to countries. Than there was an instance where this particular ship cooling unit was down and he had to service it asap as the meat would rot and corrode if left unfrozen for sometime. When he was repairing he can hear sounds of pple eating meat.. He was stunned by that sound and he went to check wat excatly was that sound. When he walked around and checked he got the shock out of hid life. He saw a little boy eating meat from the frozen meat that was hanging. The little boy even smiled at my dad and clamied this is better dan human meat and its so nice. My dad ran out of that place and went to the control room. He tendered his resignation the very next day.

Speaking of fathers. My dad and his sisters have the ability to see ghosts. When they were staying at Surin Lane (near Crocodile farm and Kovan), they claim to see sightings of soldiers marching along Charlton Road. Also the house is haunted. In the morning there's a Malay man walking around the living room and kitchen area. Also sometimes a Malay woman appears in one of the rooms.

 

When my dad's youngest sister married and moved to Loyang Valley, she claimed she also saw more ghosts. I can't remember most of them 'cos I was just listening impatiently. The ghosts were again normal people.

 

My dad passed away suddenly in September last year. Now I'm working in his company. One of my colleagues confided in me that my dad had a premonition that he was going to die. But I debunk it because if he knew, why didn't he leave some instructions for me and my family? The supposed day my dad confided to my colleague ended up as the last time he was working there.

 

Since his passing, my aunties claim to see him. They even dream of him sitting in the living room. I can explain that by saying that they miss him.

ok, here it goes...

 

Old Changi Hospital

 

Once upon a time, this incident was happened on a public holiday that fall on a

sunday in 1998. I was sleeping tastefully and was suddenly disturbed by a phone

call from the ki tong 乩童 ( medium ) of my temple. I was told to rush down to our

temple for an urgent session. I knew only later that it was becos of a spirit that

has possessed on a lady and dee ya pek 二爷伯 ( hell deity ) is appointed to take

the job. By the time i reached the temple at about 11am, i saw a young lady

sitting inside our temple just beside our 'yim tua' altar ( altar setup with hell deities

statues ). i walked near her and hurriedly setup the altar for the arrival of dee ya

pek. That was my virgin experienced coming so close to a human body that is now

possess with a spirit inside her. And it was still inside her. My feeling then was very

tense. She keep staring at me becos i was juz standing beside her. she looked lost

but calm and could be wondering what are we trying to do to her. I presume she

was not a Taoist.

 

Half an hour later, everything were ready by noon and is time to invite our guest-

of-honour mr. dee ya pek except that we doesn't have a red carpet for him. Well,

dee ya pek came pretty fast and fury even before we finish chanting our jiu 咒. Juz

to add, that lady would even enjoying and swinging her arms like those ku tai 古代

ancient time dancer performing singing for the emperor while we were playing our

jiu. Maybe she was not a taoist and has not seen a dee ya pek before. Or maybe

she thought that we are there to invite her for a buffet lunch. We dressed him (

dee ya pek ) up as usual and make sure he is serve with a cup of hot chinese tea

before he proceed. A very fiece loud BANG! was the next thing i heard while

putting back the tea cup. It was dee ya pek whom slammed his palm hard onto his

working desk, really very hard. He then pointing one finger into the face of that

possessed lady and asked her "what are you trying to do 你在搞什麽???!!!!" very

fiercely.

 

I can see that she looked anxious, helpless and was at a shocking stage. Why did i

say this is becos she was behaving less concern before the appearance of dee ya

pek. now, i can read thru her impression shown on her face that she indeed seeing

something, seeing something that we human around cannot be seen thru our

naked eyes. she must have see the spirit of dee ya pek which is now possessed on

our ki tong ( medium ). You all should know that dee ya pek is a deity ( hell

constable ) with boiling hot temper and is very impatient as far as talking to an

irresponsible wandering spirit is concerned. So, dee ya pek is expecting for a

lightning speed answer from every single question he throw on her. But, that

possessed lady or should be the spirit was seem to be testing the patience of dee

ya pek. She was keeping numb or maybe too shocking that she doesn't utter a

word to his first question. Dee ya pek is furious by now, he was hot, so hot that i

think he could simply boil a raw egg on his palm. He gave a stern and firm warning

to the possessed lady. He said " You better tell me the truth without delay, if not,

i will not hesitate to issue a spell on you and i will make sure you would not be

reincarnation 永不超身 anymore!" ( tis remarks has been clearly engraved in my

mind ) this time, she speak softly to dee ya pek, "是她们先来找我的!" ( " I was

disturbed by them first " ) Dee ya pek asked again "where is the place happened??"

And this time, she keep numb again. Dee ya pek sibey furious liao. Obviously, he

lost his cool by now. Before i could read what he wanted, dee ya pek pulled a

paper fu out from a stack of paper talisma on his altar with his left arm, drew a

blush with his right arm at the speed of lighning, put some strokes of blushes with

spell on the paper fu - talisma, asked for fire to be ignited onto the paper fu -

talisma, the next thing is...SLAMMED the burning paper fu right on the forehead of

the possessed lady! i guess no nonsense is the moto for dee ya pek. And need

not for me to comment, he is not a good negotiator. haha

 

She knocked out immediately. Motionless like those sleeping beauty in the cartoon.

I tell u, i saw smoke came out from her nose the moment the dee ya pek slammed

onto her forehead. I swear! It was really very amazing to see that. On the other

hand, i felt very sorry for that spirit. But we have no other choice, spirit and

human are like beer and driving, they can't mix together. Remember the possessed

lady knocked out on the chair? yes, dont forget her, she is the super star of the

story. We hurriedly used a cleansed water, spelled it and slammed on her forehead

again to wake her up. It was exactly like those we did to the ki tong after a

session. She is awake now and she doesn't know how she came to the temple.

She sobbed, looked pale and sleepless. All she knew was that she heard some

voices talking to her last night and she could sensed something was following her

home after she and a group of friends went for a midnite 'shopping' spree at the

Old Changi Hospital. ( for the benefit of the foreigner, old changi hospital is an

abandon old hospital after they shifted to the new one. it is a haunted place now.)

 

 

Hey, don't pay too much attention to the lady super star leh! remember our male

uper star dee ya pek? he is still sitting on his dragon chair while we were trying to

reviving the lady. Well, after the lady was back to a stable stage, dee ya pek start

to question her of the whole incident. wat happened last night was......... a group

of young punks suggested to visit the haunted houses in Changi area. Later that

morning, they came to this very scary place called Old Changi Hospital. They

decided to explore the place since their motive that night was to see ghost 见鬼!

These group of kids obviously doesn't know the height of sky, thickness of the

ground started to walk into the hospital thru the old and unlocked corridor. The

sky was dark but they could still managed to find their way thru with the help of

the full moon that morning. However, the further they walked in and the longer

they would spent inside the eerie hospital, the feeling and atmosphere getting

more tensed and scary. Suddenly, one of a girl in the group suggested to leave the

place as soon as possible becos she started to hear voices talking to her. She

heard a woman voice complaining that they are very noisy. WWhammm! The rest

of the girls there got more tensed and excited after they heard what she said. One

after another siao cha boh start screaming and running around for the exit like a

group of mad dogs inside the building. Well, no one could take this kind of

disturbance from tranpasser even for the spirits. Unfortunately, the super star of

our story lost one of her shoe while dashing out of the building. The atmosphere

then was so tensed that losing a shoe is less important to her now. Eventually,

she also threw away her another left over shoe while she was outside the building

since it is useless for now cos she is going up to a friend's car heading for her

home.

 

They didn't suspect anything unusual after the trip since everyone were still up

and walking in one piece. Little did they know that someone in the group has been

targeted by a spirit and was now following her home since her luck is not as good.

Walking with bare footed, she walked into the lift. She heard strange voices talking

to her but tireness has over power her fear. She didn't bother much and continue

to walk straight to her bed after closing the main door behind her. Nothing was

more important than a sweet drooling dream for her now. It was only in the next

morning, which was a Sunday morning that changed her from an ordinary person to

an extra ordinary woman. Her elder sister spotted her with a face that doesn't look

like her. Meaning, she is not herself and she is possessed! Her elder sister whom is

a friend of my temple ki tong, quickly rang up for him and asked him to go over to

her home to check on her sister right away. Juz when the ki tong was at the foot

of the lift landing outside her home, her possessed sister says this to her " 你叫人来

抓我?" ( '' Are you getting someone here for me?" ) She said this even before she

saw the ki tong, she said this becos the spirit could sensed that someone who has

super natural power is coming after her, is closing to her. Juz when her elder sister

was about to dash out of the home for fear, my temple ki tong appeared infront of

her like a hero for now. The ki tong has a pair of yin yang eyes 阴阳眼 as such, he

was sure that a lady spirit is now possessing on her sister's body. Not to give any

chances to the spirit, my ki tong quickly locked her wrist to avoid the spirit from

escaping from the body and pulled her straight to our temple for justics. ( a fresh

spirit can escape from punishment by getting out of the victim body thus we are

taught by our deity a way to lock the spirit from running away )

 

Now, come back to our temple. We were told to re-visit the hospital to recover her

lost shoes. That is important as far as dee ya pek is concerned. She have to go

with us becos it is impossible to find her shoe without knowing the path they went

thru last night. So, to prevent the spirit from possessing back onto her body again

since she is weak by now and dee ya pek was not be going, dee ya pek gave her a

gold chain with spelled that could temporary fence off any evil spirit on her. U

know wat, the simple gold chain looked light in weight but was like very heavy for

her cos she is extremely weak now. We were told to leave the hospital before

sunset and must re-invite dee ya pek to our temple to report our discovery soon

after.

 

We went there in a group of about 7 person in 2 cars. Upon arriving the scene, the

super star spotted the lady spirit standing inside the building staring at her from a

distance. Base on what the super star description of her was, she was wearing all

red. Yes, all red and look fiece! We walked into the building, going thru the path

she been this morning. She tried hard to figure out the exact path becos it was

too dark to see where she was heading last night. All i know was we went thru

rooms of hospital ward, We saw beer bottles on the ground, old newspaper and

even tissue and condom. Spirit dont use condom lah, so must be some poor chaps

performing live for the wandered spirits for FREE lah. Well, we walked thru a place

seem like montuary and many other. the most weird thing when we were there

was, even the weather outside seem to be hot and the sky was sunny at the time

of 3pm, the wind that blew on us was cooling. can u imaging the extend of 'dirty'

the place was??

 

Anyway, we couldn't find any shoe inside the building except the one she left

outside in the carpark. Nothing we can do by now cos the sky is getting darker

and we have to leave the place for the safety of the super star. We quickly went

back to the temple and re-invite our dee ya pek to seek for his further instruction.

According to dee ya pek, a small percentage of the super star soul has been lost

and trapped inside the building due to her personal belonging that left behind in the

building this morning which was one of her pair of shoes. Therefore, getting back a

shoe was not good enough to recover her lost soul. And it cannot be delayed. so,

the final decision now was to go back to the scene again and perform a session to

recover back her soul from the building. hmmm...very interesting!

 

We scheduled to move out from temple by 8pm, setup the altar there by 9pm, and

re-invite mr. dee ya pek by 10pm. Tonight the sky was very dark, no star and no

moon can be seen. Maybe the heaven is off on sunday or maybe the heaven is 'mo

nun tai' 没眼看 (cantonese). Anyway, we decided to settle down on an opened

area, the area seem to look like an ex-pick-up point to me. We decided to position

the altar infront of a medium height tall building, guessed it should be the main

entrance to the hospital then. We could only made use of our vehicles head-lights

to brighten up the area for us to do the setting up of the altar temporarily. Small

laughter from the teasers were heard among helpers. The place was extremely

dark and quiet. Dark and quiet are match best to the spirits to stay inside the

building. A few of our temple's helpers' has a pair of 阴阳眼, they could see spirits

once awhile. and what they saw inside the building that night while we were

setting up the altar was plenty of wandering spirits sticking their head out of the

building window on each of every floor to check and see what are we up to. They

might be wondering whether are we from a catering company and were there to

setup a cocktail dinner for them. haha

 

Our altar is now set and is ready to invite our guest-of-honour and this time, lian

hua san tai zhi 连 三太子 is also coming. As usual, we sang the jiu and invite the

deities. the spirits above inside the building dispersed like a thin smoke in the air

juz when dee ya pek possessed onto our ki tong. Maybe they saw something we

don't. After the arrival of lian hua, we were instructed to walk into the building one

by one closed to each other with dee ya pek and the super star and her parents in-

front, san tai zi covered the rear. We walked slowly step by step with only 3 small

torch lights among 18 persons. i don't feel as eerie as i felt during the day, i felt

the temperature now was rather warmer than during the day. It could be becos

the spirits has since run away for now with the help of 2 deities appearance.

 

We finally stopped at a foot of a staircase landing. The lost soul of the super star

was spotted there. Her father was instructed to knee on the floor with joss sticks

on hand and plead the spirits for mercy to forgive his daughter. He was instructed

to say " my daughter is young and she is ignorance, pls forgive her for what she

had done". Loudly and sincerely. I think that was the moment she feel Fatherly

love. After which, her father were told to call out her daughter's name and asked

the soul to follow him home. It was like " jing jing, come, follow daddy go home".

Keep repeating the same sentense from the staircase we spot the soul all the way

to the altar outside the building. While outside the building, dee ya pek took over

the urn with joss sticks from her father, spelled it, burned a paper fu onto a cup of

plain water and instructed the super star to drink it. I tell u, after she finished

drinking it, she look more lively and she does not looked as sick as before.

Remember the gold chain on her neck? she was complaining that it was heavy but

was now forgotten about it cos she felt stronger now. We burned some incense

papers to the wandering spirits to act as a respect to them and hurriedly left the

place with a mission accompliced.
