Shd be 6 pieces for clutch plates... in my opinion, ur problem of having a tight gear shifter is more of an engine oil problem.. try changing ur engine oil.

i have the gear hard to shift to neutral problem, however i jus changed my EO. how long do i have to wait to see the change?

i used to have this problem in the past. this is a very common problem. vry seldom to do with EO. try adjust your cluth cable. if it does not help, when you are in still position, trottle abit for your bike to move just that bit, kick bk to neutral. if goes to 2nd gear, you just need to adjust your clutch cable properly 1st.

ok i've tried to adjust the clutch cable, but i do not know how. there are actually 2 screws, one big and small. so i need to loosen one of the screws and pull the cable?

I use to face this problems to. test ur clutch, if its too loose. then thats the problem. just adjust the two screws till the clutch get tighter. I use to have a very loose clutch, and i got the difficulties on getting to neutral and 2nd gear. i hope that helps.

don think clutch loose means clutch plate got problem..if clutch plate got problem will u engage 1st gear the bike will automatic move forward even when u clutch in and difficulties find netural gear..

no la, what rizaldinho meant is loose clutch and clutch plate problem will show similar symptoms. hence it is better to check whether if you have a loose clutch when you find it hard to find neutral when stationary or automatic move forward, because it is free.

btw i tighten my clutch and was able to find neutral when stationery for the first time in this week. tml i will find out if it makes a difference.

I'm currently having the same issue. Sometime when accelerating from gear 2 kicked up to gear 3 it just drop back 1 gear down by itself. Clutch plates worn off is it?

Gear jumping and hard to engage are not symptoms of clutch plate issue or wear.

It is likely to be a bent shift fork, worn out shift drum detent or worn dogs on the gears. These problems takes a lot of manpower to resolve as the mechanic needs to remove the shifter and gear assembly and inspect every single part for worn out of specific and replace as necessary.

Labour intensive and high cost of repairs is also the reason many repair shop do not want to do the job if the problem does not cause failure.

Guys, Im not sure if Im having clutch plates issues. I was riding on gear 6 when suddenly the rpm drop from 6 to 1 and shortly it increased back to 6 with some jerking. However, I have no trouble shifting the gears up and down and to neutral. any advice? Thanks in advance!

Before knowing HOW a clutch system on a motorcycle function , TS is already junping on a conclusion that someone cheated him.

TOUGH. With riders like these coming onto the roads, maybe the failure lies on the training bike schools that had allowed then to be qualified to ride on the roads.

Too many stories of bike shops charging p-platers so much more just because they are new. Not much to do with training school..
