i understand that there are concerns about parking around bugis on a friday night. people seem to think that the whole of Singapore will gather there this friday.

instead of raining on people's parade, i took some time to conduct a site recce. here are my observations:

1. Tan Quai Lan street is 1-way only (as the name of the street suggests), and can only be accessed from Beach Road. ERP charges are $1 from 6.30-7.55pm, and 50cents onwards. you are not that poor, please do not use it as an excuse to be late.

2. as you turn left in to Tan Quai Lan street, the steamboat place is directly on your left. there is an alley next to the outlet- potential illegal parking spot.

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=188&pictureid=1225

3. moving along, you will see the 1st legal bike lot to your right. 65cents to the government.

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=188&pictureid=1224

4. moving along, you will see the 2nd legal bike lot to your left. it is outside an eatery. 65cents to the government.

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=188&pictureid=1222

5. directly across 2nd legal bike lot, you will see an illegal bike area. it is just after the taxi stand. note the open field on the left of the bikes, it has the potential to fit the entire CBR150 group, or our VIP's armoured Subaru WRC WRX STI LTD ETD.

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=188&pictureid=1223

6. BeeBones have their specially marked lots.

http://www.facilitiessolutions.org/images/handicap.jpg

Conclusion: if can park legally, park legally. 65cents is a small sum to pay for a stress-free evening of being in the good company of friends. if you're late (your fault) and cannot find legal parking lots, you know which spots have the potential for parking (at your own risk). if you are kiasu/kiasee/kia-gf, then go park at Bugis Junction. only $1.05.

see you on friday and stop throwing wet blankets!

Erm.. FYI to those driving / riding. the aunties/uncles are very on the ball. and tan qwee lan street is gonna be a hard time finding a spot for cars.. so be prepared. I was there last friday with my friends, and then i joined my parents for dinner at the korean food stall at the rear. I can see the uncle holding the summon machine happily clocking his quota.

i also think the bike lots going to be full... Will we be passing ERP? not right iirc?

There is no replacement for displacement, except for Ah Seng

please don't assume that other people know your special lizzy-language. when you assume you make an ASS out of U and ME. mainly you.

there is no rochor exit along AYE. kindly check your facts or do site recce. after all, if a full-time student can find time, why can't a waiting-for-ns fella do the same?

Another big problem for me liao..

If you guys remembered, I push back my bike to shop on the 2nd of May. However, I received a summon of $100 that my previous bike was parked on a void deck on 15th May.

In addition to this, the transfer of my vehicle is effected from 15th May. Now, town council die die tell me to pay this fine because it was still under my name. Furthermore, they questioned my insurance policy as I cancelled it on 3rd May.

If there is no insurance for my vehicle and assuming my name is still under my bike, I may be prosecuted for riding without valid insurance. This goes all my classes of license.

I am now calling my bike shop and they tell me not to worry as they will settle this me.:angry::angry: I find it amusing that the bike was transfered on 15th May when I push it on the 3rd of May.

If you guys were me, what would you do? Please advise as it is a serious offence to ride without insurance.

Since like a bad choice to park there. If worse come to worst, I'll park at bugis junction or the coupon parking beside bugis MRT station (most likely full also)
