For me .. the upkeep is very cheap

 

Season parking - $0(private parking)- $17 (hdb parking)/monthly

 

Fuel - 38++/1litre riding on highway speed 110km/h ... 40 ++ normal riding on speed 90km/h so 1 week about $7(malayisa petrol) - $ 18(singapore petrol)

 

Maintenance - change engine oil at 8000km/ 3month see which one reach first Price $6 to $32

 

Maintenance - Change brake pad - $10 to $30

Change tires - $100 - $250

Change chain and sprocket - $ 50 - $ 170

Overhaul Engine - $ 200 - $500

change clutch cable - $6-$10

agreed. next workyear's AFR must give him good assessment. lol..

 

by the way, hdb's open carparks are $15 for season parking. for MSCP, i dunno. abt a few dollars more.

 

maintenaince-wise depends on how much mileage u clock per day.. some will change faster in terms of time cos of that, cos of frequent usage. And of cos, there will be some that dont have to change so fast cos of lesser usage.

 

EO is the only thing u usually change more frequently. Spark plugs can last u a darn long time. Even if one year chg one time also no problem wan. Your bike will still be able to start after a year of usage, almost a guaranteed thing.

 

all the other maintenaince stuff that he mentioned, tyres and brake pads usually can last u about a year, plus minus. Chain + sprocket, and clutch cable, can last u even longer than that. His bike is about 5 yrs old, then he change those stuff. so u do the maths.

Engine oil every 3k or 8k?

Or maybe should rephrase my question, what engine oil that can last up to 8k? :p

 

I always change at 3k.. (ah chong and the prev owner told me to do this), maybe it's too frequent -_-'..

 

I'm fussy so i change every 2K like that, plus minus.

my preference is semi-synthetic oil change every 3K & full synthetic oil change every 5K.

in reality, i sometimes overclock 3,000kms before i get a chance to change the EO.

as for spark plug, i have so far kena spark plug near failure once. ended up had to bring my tools down on a separate trip to where the bike died on me + trouble my fren to tompang me down. so i wouldn't recommend saving on relatively cheap item like spark plug which probably cost $4/piece not including installation. yet, i am also not recommending u change the plug so frequently like once every EO change. my preference is to change it roughly around per 10,000km clocked.

the only reason why a person will fail is becos of a plain lack of effort. both of u are NOT such people, hence i know u will do fine. all the best for ur papers.

3k for rich ppl ... 8k for no money ppl.... no la...semi-synthetic oil change about 2k to 5k... full-synthetic oil 5k to 10k.... but if u scare the oil very dirty then change earlier lo....

 

P.S CBR 150 No oil filter
