juz some qns

recently i have changed new tyres, and wierd sound while riding, upon check, realised that the front guard and tyre is too near, not 20mm as recommended.

rubbing sound i suspect, my fault for not checking throughly after tyre change. Generally will this pose any danger if i continue to ride without resolving the issue? Can simple adjustment of the front guard resolve my issue?

My front right part which holds the tyre is found to be leaking oil more excessive than usual, i didnt know it contain oil until the leaking became more obvious.. oiler on the surface. ANy advice on how to rectify it?

But i thought mirror threading is fairly universal.... except for our stock ones tho... the thread smaller...

The RxK LHS one can go in.... the RHS one cannot.... :sian::sian::sian::sian:

size is the same, but the threading is in the oppo direction for one of the sides. frm yr description, it seems like the RHS is the one w/ the oppo thread direction.

cover up the holes frm the original mirror mounts w/ some cool looking screw, then shift the mirrors to the handlebars~

i can fit honda wave mirrors (aftermarket ones for $10/pair) on the mirror securing pts on the handlebar.

wat tyre size did u get frm the front?

the distance between the tyre and mudguard should be constant, if the mudguard is securely mounted. i.e. even when u go over humps, the mudguard does not rub against the tyre.

i would feel it wont pose much of a danger, but do watch out for any unnecessary wear and tear on the tyre surface.

but for all u knw, the rubbing sound may not come frm the tyre?

e.g. other parts like the brake disc rubbing against the brake pads

Hi guys. Can the saitao of cbr125 be fixed on cbr150 ?

i believe it can be done w/ modifications

but the difficulty lies in where to get the relevant cbr125 parts.

relying on Boon Siew (they seem to be the only ones ard who have access to the parts) may be tricky.

another issue is whether u r willing to spend smth like $400 to get it done.

yes it may not come from tyre, but the exceedingly close up between the guard and tyre worries me. My front tyre is BT39 90/80-17.

oil is it brake fluid chk ur brake caliper bro... the only part which contains oil the nearest is brake caliper or hose... or ur hmmmm fork...

yup the rite size it still can go bigger like 110/70 so i dunt think is the tyre rubbing... cause yesterday i juz help my fren rectify this rubbing sound on his rear... and yes itz the brakepad rubbing onto his disc rotto... what i advise u is check ur brake pad see worn out or not... if yes change it... IF NOT then check ur caliper got leak or not juz visual check... if yes buy a repair kit... IF NOT what u can do is very simple take out ur brake pad push back ur caliper piston juz a little then sand ur brake pad with rough sand paper the rougher the better... then sand ur disc rotto to get rid of any debris or gunk... then take a little of heavy duty grease and put it a little at the top of the piston that pushing ur pad... and a little at the pad meeting the piston not the rotto... the smooth part of the pad not the rough one... then fix back the brake pad... u can choose to bleed afterward or juz pump ur brakes... fill up the brake fluid to the requirement after pumping or bleeding... and itz done... WARNING! when working with grease plz be careful dunt put it at the disc rotto or the rough part of pads meeting the ROTTO unless u want to use ur feet as brake... :goodluck:

Ah like that then nvm... continue use the K mirror....

Too late to save my mirror.... today i tried screw in the RHS.... at first can but din go all the way in so i just tighten the nut..... Then later on when wanted to adjust the position have to unscrew again ..... OH MY GOD IT TOTALLY DESTROY THE SCREW THREAD!!!!! OH MY FUUCCCK MAN!!!!

Needless to say i cannot put it back in so bo bian have to fix back the stock RHS mirror.... (The whole head cowl was shaking due to lack of screw to secure it anyway...) Wa jialat cannot put back.... had to remove the shroud on the metal piece to screw it back in.....

Now even more ****ed up man..... Stock RHS mirror with no shroud, a RxK LHS mirror and destroyed screw thread on the right bar..... i can't give a **** anymore..... :sian::sian::sian::sian:

I'm planning to sell my bike. Total had 3 accidents. One was 2 yrs ago.. Second one 4 months ago, another one 3 weeks ago..

First one was my own recklessness (corner too fast).

Second one, I have no memory of how the accident happened. All I know is that there's one car in front, and 2 cars behind. And my bike's tail was smashed. Got a fracture during that accident.

Third one, a driver just changed lane without checking and hit my from the side.

The 2nd & 3rd accidents, I got to claim for repair through insurance, so my workshop fully repaired my bike to a good condition, with the front fairings changed and my tail-end remodelled. So it's pretty much in good condition as everything else is stock.

Was wondering how much it'll be worth, then I saw someone selling a FBA plate CBR125 for $3.5k. Do you think it's worth as much? When I bought my bike abt 2 yrs ago (FBB plate), it cost me $6.6k, abt $4k machine price, $1k+ COE, $1k+ insurance.

After the accidents, and another near accident similar to my 3rd one, I'm a bit phobic now to ride. Memories of falling down keep playing in my mind. So, I'm planning to sell and hope to get a good price for it despite the accidents as it is still reliable, just some cosmetic differences.

upz for super honest seller

FBB plate can probably fetch ard $3K?

but w/ the listed accidents as mentioned, may prompt buyers to further negotiate the price downwards...

:cheeky:

how's yr paintwork like?

if it's in good condition, i may be tempted to do an exchange + top u up~

It's the original blue-black paintwork, just that the head fairing and the tail end is plain. I'll try ask around the shops, but at least I got a rough indication of the price. I might post the bike up for sale in the forum with one of the prices I'm quoted since the shops are going to sell it at a higher price anyway. At least it's still cheaper to get it through this forum.
