Hi guys, i just encounter a problem today while starting the bike.

1)Turn on the key Neutral light, lights up

2)Press the igintion button but bike can't get started (heard some sparkling sound only)

3)Horn seems to be not working with the bike on

4)Push start the bike and amazingly it starts

5)Battery and horn was changed on 27th Dec 2011

6)Horn is very soft when bike is running.

May any kind soul out there figure out whats going on with my bike.

I believe it may due to rectifilier problem mentioned by the previous owner, where can i replace one and how much is it.?

Firstly check connections of the wiring to your bike battery... see if wires loose or not.. Secondly use a voltmeter or multimeter to test the battery first.... Sometimes change battery then ok already..

As for cost of rectifier... i not sure... cos i never had to buy one before.

Ya, the battery was changed before on the 27th Dec 2011, just 12 days back only so it cant be the battery problem right, it must be the bike not charging the batt every time i ride. I will try to check the wiring whether is it properly connected and whats the voltage for the batt while is stationary.?

11-13V should be normal.

ouhh.. then if chnge sprocket setting (from stock setting) to more pick -up based setting .. will make it worst or equal ?

That's creating an issue (rear tyre larger/heavier than stock) and then finding a solution to solve part of it (reduce no. of rear sprocket teeth or increase no. of front spocket teeth).

This then creates another issue (slight loss in top speed).

:D

u may be able to get the same acceleration after that, but u will always need more fuel to bring the larger/heavier tyre to spin at the same speed.

Fear not... i have cheapo solutions for you to try first...

1. Check disassemble your throttle>>> Balancer out>>> Throttle grip out>> Disconnect throttle cable (you'll figure it out when you see it, just take out the securing point of the cable from the housing)>>> Lube your handlebar with engine oil>> Fix everything back, don't overtighten balancer if your throttle grip is too long like mine.

2. Steering lock sometimes the mechanism old and rusty already... must turn the handlebars back and forth when turning your key to lock.... jiggle the handlebars to find your sweet lock spot. If all else fails... just lock your rear sprocket with a padlock.

14.2v while bike is travelling is normal.

did u managed to see what was the rating of the spark plug the bikeshop replaced for u?

our stock plug is NGK CR8E.

as for the spark plug cap, u've got to get from the original parts dealer. cause our plug cap is kind of unique and longer than the usual ones on other bikes.

:goodluck:
