Hi Guys,

Turns out I'm not selling my CBR150 after all. Cleaned it up yesterday, removed the box and put the fairings back on. I'd had them off for ages and forgot that the bike looks pretty darn good once again. Anyway, it looks so nice that my gf has said she wants to keep the bike so that's that. C you guys soon for a meetup, hopefully with her riding.

Cheers.

alright man! good news! :cheer: :cheer:

speaking of the box, i still haven installed one cuz i scared my pillions will lean back on the box and affect the handling a lot.

do u guys who installed boxes have any say on this?

i have installed b4.

the bracket for the rear box depends. for me, i customise the racket, its very very very rigid, very firm :lovestruck:

plus a second hand box 48litre with rear brake light is aroudn $85

No more regrets.

The box, (large size) with misc items (gf's helmet 2 raincoats etc) inside can be fairly heavy and it certainly does affect the handling of the bike.

It's much better now that I've removed it.

so around $85 bucks for both rack and box ah? how bout the customized rack alone? where to get it?

cuz i guess i won't be installing such a big box anyway. a medium size one will suffice for me i guess, can put 1 helmet and 2 raincoat should be ok ba.

Nope this is the original Repsol version.

Basically it's solid color plastics with a sticker set applied.

Considered a special edition but it was sold for the same price as the "normal" color ones. Don't think they're making it anymore. My friends is also a Repsol edition. Actually quite a number of them out there on the roads.

For the bike rack you can use the standard NSR150SP Givi Rack mount available from Ah Boy (LAB). I think it's about $40. Box price depends on size. Buy the rack and box (small one, single helmet) together from LAB and it's not too expensive. Maybe around $100 +-.

The first picture ( orangeish or yellow light ) is the normal HS bulb beam - Driving light. The second picture is the HS-HID 6500kelvin white light beam, they r not legal. As for inspection, i will leave the HS-HID switch off.

Currently most lower CCs bikes come spec wif just the normal bulbs. Halogens are a grade higher in terms of lumen (brightness) & Hids are the highest grade available now. Btw, HIDs can be spec to produce light beam in 3 main colors - 8500kelvin=Blue, 6500kelvin=White & 3850kelvin= Yellow. I hv seen 12,000k=purple & I heard green is also possible now..

I do not have the HS-HID pricing yet ? HS is the type of bulb use in CBR150R, Wave, Phatom & a few more models......... :bounce: :bouncefire: :bounce: :bouncefire:

the fork for the cbr150 is smaller in diameter compared to kr or tzm rite?? izzit the

same size as rxz's?? if i wanna buy juz the head fairing, how much does it cost??

does any one here use knn filter??

Posted

Yeah, it's been dropped on the RHS before when I took it to Pasir Gudang racetrack and hit an oil patch at turn 1.

I replaced the exhaust end can ($60+) and a small section of the head fairing near ($20 in BKK) the headlight. The head section of the fairing is made up of three peices and the clear windscreen. I also got new bar end balancers ($10) and had to replace the RHS footrest and the brake master pump (about $100 for both items) coz it was half ground off while it was sliding along the road. Luckily this bike is well designed with no external indicators to break/grind off so it will slide along the road and sustain minimal damage.

Actually if you do get a chance to go to BKK you can buy the whole fairing set and sticker sets for pretty reasonable prices. For the piece that cost me $20 in BKK I was quoted $80 SGD by the bas***ds at Chong Aik!

Hey.....Axxis.......dun say things like tt - pls read the " Y pay more" threads ok ?

Just bec we can buy cheaper in BKK ( we r the lucky few ) does not mean there is no additional cost involve. Pls refrain from such remarks - " For the piece that cost me $20 in BKK I was quoted $80 SGD by the bas***ds at Chong Aik! " Running a business involve lots of cost we do not know off. They can't live off - $60 for a month. Just my 2cts tots.......... wan to buy my spare air-filter at $8. :help: :help:

I agree that things should cost more in Singapore but not 4x the price is ridiculous. Considering the very small size piece of fairing it was. The original CBR muffler is about $50+ SGD if bought in Thailand and only $60+ if bought from LAB. Perfectly acceptable!

But being exploited is being exploited. Too many bike shops try this and get away with it. I don't mind paying extra to buy things in Singapore but it MUST be a reasonable markup.

A new CBR150R is about 3.5k in Thailand and 4.5k here. Also acceptable!

at most maybe 1.5x the Thai price seems reasonable.

For 2x I might still consider it.

But at 4x????

bas***ds!!! There is no excuse or business justification for this in this global economic climate.

Sure... I'd like to get the filter from you.

yeah DIY ain't a problem. :)

Will arrange to swing by your shop and collect it. Will msg you in advance.

Back in Aust I had a nice big three car garage to play around in (parents place) and I actually changed the engines in 3 of my cars (upgraded using Japanese imports). But the luxury there is time and space so you can take as long as you need to finish the job.

Seldom do much in sg apart from little things but I think I can handle an airfilter...

I sure hope so anyway. A little rusty

=p
