hey do u all have problems starting ur bike? as in... when u switch on when the engine is still cold... u will need to keep turning the accelerator to keep the engine alive. if u nvr turn the accelarator.. it will jus die off.. dont have this prob when the engine is warm though.. the workshop tried to adjust my idling.. but still same prob.

me too but mine one same issue but with another problem..

as u say engine cold so u throttle while in netural gear right..

my case is when u rev till 2k.. it sort of like jam, so u have to throttle harder to go up 3k then it become smooth again.. but if rev drop down to under 2 then throttle up again.. the problem persist.. during cold engine only..

so during my cold engine my throttle like no power when 2k rpm to 3k rpm that phase..

hey i have tht same other prob too! sometimes my bike will stuck at 2k rpm... then need to throttle harder to overcome it. i asked my mechanic.. he said the idling too low.. but tht time he put for me idling much higher then cannot ah.. like after travelling then when stop at traffic light or something... the rpm will be stuck at 5k. then need to adjus back lower again.. back to square 1.

1 thing for sure cannot be idling de.. reason other time is smooth mah..

unless its really due to cold engine then nth we can do..

unless got some parts need to replace le we duno.. i am noob at all these too..

but cannot be wad... other bikes don't seem to have this prob. like the bigs at driving school all jus start can. no need to rev up the engine to prevent it from dying... could other CBR150 riders verify if their bike has the same problem(s)?

i guess u do need to maintain abit of throttle to keep the bike alive especially after parking it for long time e.g. 1 or 2 full days

this is normal for some bikes

an alternatively will be to use the choke

i remember when i got my 1st hand Yamaha X1 1yr+ back i needed to maintain abit of throttle after starting the bike to keep it alive if i dont use the choke

subsequently, the situation improved such that i dont even need to maintain throttle nor use the choke anymore whenever i start the bike

i guess the bike needs abit of seasoning as well

another factor i tink may play a part is the type of engine oil u use

the thinner/less viscous types will make it easier for u to start the engine

:goodluck:

currently for my CBR150, i juz need to maintain abit of throttle at ard 3-4K RPM for ard 2-3seconds then the bike wont die off already

but i'm having problem with my CBR150

i've juz got the steering cone replaced 2weeks back and so far i've tighten the cone for 3 times already as it always gets loose

do u guys who have replaced steering cones before have this problem??

Best to use the choke for Morning cold start, then off the choke after for the first few kilometers. I never had problem like you guys ...........................

u have to get the key done at Honda shopsi think coz i did a spare key last time from the shop i bought my bike from he said he had to order from Honda the key n i had to wait for a week to collect it.

in the wee morning or if i never ride my bike a few days, i have to rev the throttle for a while if not it will die off. I've not tried using the choke though.

i juz had my bike key duplicated at this hardware store located along the row of shops found opposite Planet motordiam

cost me only $3

the black color plastic/rubber part of the key indicated that the key is "For Honda bikes"

perhaps u guys who r urgently looking for key duplicate services can go there?

the guy also does duplication of keys for GIVI boxes

not sure abt the cost for this one though

thought the response to the qns below might help to narrow down the cause of the problem

are u able to change gear frm neutral to gear 1 and vice versa smoothly?

if answer is yes, u may need to get yr gears checked out

if answer is no, u may need to get yr clutch system checked out

generally, if the gears are still working fine, u are still able to change gears when u close throttle

i.e. when travelling >> close throttle >> shift up gear w/o usage of clutch

of course doing the above mentioned gear shifting is going to harm the gears in the long run, so pls try it only for the benefit of checking whether yr gears still work fine and NOT during other occasions

i agree w/ limbat

the problem most likely got to do with clutch cable or clutch plates

if clutch cable, probably cost u at most $20 to get it done

if clutch plates, probably ard $100+

the damage to yr wallet is still considered not extremely high

For bridgestone tyres, it's BT39. while if ur looking for dunlop tyres, it's TT900.. make sure the tyres r made in japan, quality better :) size n thickness depends on wat u need.. best is to follow ur original tyres size, there's a marking on the walls of the tyres. then, if u feel tt u want better cornering, den get a bit thicker tyres lor..
