same problem i face here..

usually what i do when i wanna look back is i will tuck in my hand then peek at the mirror OR just ride more to the side of the lane im riding then can see whats on my lane..

actually talking about this mirror.. theres also another problem..

if u push it wider (out), when u ride u can see more things.. BUT often when u push if further outwards, this mirror might hit a car's side mirrors if u squeeze in btw cars..

Also, parking at some really small lots, ppl will easily easily hit onto ur mirros..

btw newboy, where do u stay huh? east?

Thanks! Oh so meaning bike die off is common? Not becoz of engine having prob eh? Actually I haven't tried the choke yet as I didn't have prom starting the engine after it died off..

Actually just one more qn guys, do you find the default mirror's view not very gd? Don't know leh. How I adjust I just can't seem to see things behind me. So when I ride, I can only see the other lanes and not the lane I'm in. Kinda of dangerous I feel. What if ppl tailgate? Haha.. :faint:

i agree that the stock mirrors for this bike doesnt exactly offer a good view of the rear. guess this could be due to the smaller size in the head fairing as compared to other bikes like KRR or NSR SP.

doubt changing to aftermarket mirrors can help. in fact i saw 2 CBR150 before who changed the positioning of the mirrors to the handle bar. would have copied their idea if not for the aftermarket bubblescreen of mine which is abit longer than the original bubble.

:cheeky:

Hmmm.. I was actually thinking of changing mirror to see if it helps... But since u say so, don't think I'll change liao.. Just be careful make sure no one tailgates me hehehe...

Btw, just now one of my fren test rided my bike saying the changing of gears very difficult. So I thinking of add "black oil" (is it 4T?) tomolo.. Maybe plus change spark plug (what is this anyway? So sorry I really know nothing abt bikes) Anyone here knows roughly how much should it cost? Thanks thanks..

:cheeky:

my 3rd hand FZ cost me $2200, which i bought direct from seller. i wouldn't go comparing prices like this since you've already bought the bike. important thing is, you've got your own set of wheels!

Totally agree!!! Get conned already LL liao.. But still happy with the bike lah.. Next time just be careful not to be conned again hehe.. :thumb:

i believe you drive too, since i also find it useful to see whats behind me. what i did was to adjust it so i can see between my arms and body, so if i every need to see behind i just 'open' my armpits!

btw, cute avatar pic. never knew girls in uniforms were so interesting. you know the model pictured?

Haha that's a nice techqiue! I'll give it a try next time thanks! Hehe..

Oh u don't know who the girl is in my avatar???? She's actually Felicia Chin leh.. Medicorp artist. Been crazy about her even before she was so popular like now hahaha.. Also don't know y hehe.. :cheeky:

guys, i just bought a can of high temperature spray paint, and would like to make a trip in to JB to get the mechs to spray paint my header and end can. those who have seen my bike know what lousy shape my end can is in, and i would believe most of our steel headers would be rusty with normal use.

so, who would like to go in for spraying+various maintenance+'zheng' your bike+ramly+satay+petrol run outing? my can of paint should be able to spray 2-3 endcans+headers, so i'm happy to share.

if anyone's keen, just give some rough ideas of day and time. for me, weekday evenings and anytime weekend is ok.

we'll need some 'old birds' like Wandi and Derrick to show us around the yummy eating areas. so let's see how this goes!

wah, u brave leh, haha LX150 for commuting. :goodluck:

limbat can help u get certain parts, not all he can bring in. alternatively u can go FJT or Chiong Aik, they are authorised honda dealer in SG. definitely much cheaper than bikeshops but dun include labour charges lah. they sell only.

eh.. getting a vespa lx150. get a more relac bike for my gf to sit back and go sch liao. ha. next time you see a red one in school will be me liao. ha.

you owning 2 bikes now ar dude?

eh.. you know anything about the brake fluid reservoir.

uncle lim still helping you all get parts? thought of calling him.

the damn shop at tampines use hammer and screwdriver to whack it last time when i want to change brake fluid. guess it broke then. ha. strongly caution ppl against it. went the shop 5 6 times. 4 5 times he cork up my bike here and there.

but hor is that tyre good ? how about comparing to bt39 also? ur views..

haven't heard any reviews on this tire leh, doubt anyone here uses that yet ba. it's rather new in our market right? anyway, i should be changing soon, but definitely not getting michelin or bridgestone. should be gg for IRC or Dunlop.

no pun intended, just this bike + my riding style, i doubt need such soft compound tires.

bro

the mechs in JB will use their spray cans. dont think by providing them w/ the high temp spray will lower the total costs :p

anyway i do recall the condition of yr endcan from the pics the previous owner posted.

i doubt the high-temp spray provides a long term solution to the end can problem. reason being, the paint from the spray can isnt long lasting. this applies whether it is high-temp paint or not. maybe u can consider getting a new end can or getting it chrome wrapped. this will no doubt cost quite abit but at least it solves the problem permanently.

there is less of an issue for exhaust header though. i remove the entire pipe for respraying of the black portions 1week after i got my bike. experience is that the high temp paint can only tahan a few months before u start noticing the black color becoming abit more brownish/rust-like again.

thanks for the input. i'm paying the mechs to learn how to properly remove endcan and header. next time DIY liao. well, if this needs to be done every 6 months to upkeep, i don't mind the DIY session. important thing is i don't want rust to eat anything away.

oh, and Ching Aik quote me endcan+header about $280. the fella who was selling off his scraped bike parts in this thread quoted me $160. still something i'm not willing to spend if my current one is still working.

what i'm trying to find is high temp primer. that should extend the life of the DIY job for another few months.

btw, where do you go to do chroming?

the spare rear seat is for a special project Axxis and i going to try out.

you mentioned that uncle lim may not be able to get all the parts. even if he order from Thailand factory and i'm willing to wait 2-3 months? i just want cheap price, cos these items are wants, not needs.

I normally jus buy those parts from a Bangkok Honda dealer & sometimes when the guys check the local SG market price - it is jus a little bit cheaper or more expensive. Maybe the local SG dealer get them at wholesale pricing.

Some items are very bulky to handcarry - if small items no problem.

u heard it from the man himself. many a times it's actually easier to just buy off the dealer cuz the hassle to bring back the items a bit leh chey ba i feel. they're already a lot cheaper than the price u get at bike shops.
