here's what our stock ignition coil looks like. I have no idea what goes where.

Price $25 before government profit. The attaching spark plug cable is $16 before government profit.

i remember seeing this item somewhere under the fuel tank before

:cheeky:

went to do up a simple grounding using wires bought frm SLT

its been proven by mythbusters and also some veteran riders that mothbal increases engine power by some bit..fuel consumption is reduced too i think..:bounce:

i remember reading abt this over one of the threads in this forum + links to relevant articles frm other websites.

roughly recall the conclusion as: mothballs works! but only for fuel that belong to the past. i.e. when there is nothing like grade 92 or 95 and onwards. with the improvement in technology, current fuel all offer higher octane than mothballs.

ooo. so it should have no effect? or maybe even a drawback?

i went Everfit and asked to see la!

you think i took mine out just to take picture for you ah? i am crazy, not stupid.

For me? I rmbr I did tell u that I changed mine b4. So I know how it looks like. Hahahaha.....

Last time u asked me to bring the Electric Coil (Spoilt) when we meet up, but I forgot. If I can make it on Thursday, I will bring to show u how it looks like.

ok, i'll SMS you then.

Thx alot for your kind understanding. :cheeky:

as also shown in our CBR150 parts manual. i send you, you never read meh?

I just confused whether I read it on CBR125 manual or CBR150 spare parts manual. But Im sure I did read it on the CBR125 manual. :D

omg... don't tell me you're going to start doing it too?

when did you start putting winter clothing in your fuel tank? ever heard of the Broquet fuel catalyst?

I totally agree with u. :p

Imagine u r in expressway running 90-100kph. The mothballs didnt react fully and there is still a smallest mothballs, then its being suck into the carb.

When manufacturer produce mothballs, they might have a little mixture (accidentally or not), like maybe tiny wood or even smallest metal or stone. Think about it.

Dont anyhow put things on ur fuel tank, unless u like challanges & hve the cash in hand when something goes wrong. It might works for lot of bikes, but who knows?

:faint:

actually the challenge is to find a fan (must be made of metal to prevent melting) of the correct voltage and power rating as our battery/charging system leh.

anyway, i feel that the ah pek could have kena ketoh by the motorshop he went to. either the shop cheated his money completely or they are sucky.

:giddy:

Probably u r right. Hahaha.....

Anyway, the fan doesnt look like made of metal. It looks like plastic & black in color, just like the CPU fan.

Guys, ride safely. Road is not for playing.

Use V-Power once in a while?

I kinda use V-power nearly all the time! It really does give me more power and more mileage. At least for my boy, the extra mileage that I get more than covers for the extra that I pay for it.

And Esso fuel is just terrible! I don't know why, but it just doesn't burn that reliably.

And I also pop a few mothballs in the tank every three months or so. Seems to result in better power and more reliable combustion.

Disclaimer: try it at your own risk. Although I honestly do pop the mothball in, I refuse to take any responsibility for your actions. (",)

V-Power gives u extra milage? Hve u tried using other grade from Shell to compare?

Are u talking about Msia Esso or Sgp Esso? I hve been using Sgp Esso for about a year, it provides smoothness n power to my bike, even when I pumped 92. For the FC, Im not so sure. :cheeky:

theres a law in sg that all grades of oil must have the minimum amount of cleaning agent that any vehicles will need..

and all your rides will require a certain octane level and if 95 is required, pumping 98 or v-power does not give u extra power.. u are just contributing to the profits of petroleum company..

maybe if anyone wants, he/she can pump those premium grade once in a while for that extra cleaning agent.. thats the most anyone will need..

earning money aren't easy, stop throwing ur hard earn money into the pool of those oil cum cash diggers..

How about Msia? Any such law over there?

I like to pump 92, but I could not find it in Msia Shell. Only got V-Power & Super Shell (I believe Super Shell is 98).

Lowest grade I can find in Msia is @Esso or Mobil which is 95. Nvr go Caltex. Anyone of u guys know whether Caltex near the Checkpoints has grade 92?

i feel that shell makes my ride feel smoother, as compared to esso. and for me to pump 92 or 95, got difference wan leh -- the bike's vibration is slightly more if i pump 92. for my bike can feel vibration difference, for my car can see the mileage difference.. i try to pump 95 for both my vehicles.

Guys, if your ride specification is 92 Octane, then u must use mininium 92 otherwise there will be engine knocking. If use higher grade there is a improvement bec the octane is higher, not really a loss of $$ but u get better combustion. Most petrol Co highest grade has additional cleaning agent to keep the engine/fuel line cleaner. I personally use any brand - it does not matter to me. But in MY I will buy the highest grade bec of value for money. Unless ur into performance riding (speeding/racing) Octane 92 is sufficient for most rides, more do need mininium Octance 95 so pls check. In SG i only buy Octane 92 for all my rides.....

yeah u will see the KFC as a big drive-thru side by the side with a macdonalds one. its not INSIDE kallang leisure park. its OUTSIDE, opp and further down from it.

look for signboards that point u to kallang tennis centre and squash courts, or the kallang netball centre. they are within the same compound.

near carpark H ? srry to disturb :D

Hmmm, I "clean" my engine like twice a year with OWS 3-in-1 package that I get at Unique. So I use V-power for the smoothness and extra mileage. I compared the mileage with Shell 98 and Esso... I never tried caltex before though. And I don't think I'll try SPC. Unless I buy a car much later in life and use it to primarily transport family and things.. Hahaha

Yeah! Shell Rocks man! Yeah I feel a significant amount of difference between Shell and Esso. :bouncefire:

i'm guessing you live in Sri Lanka? did you remove the filter in the airbox or something?

Hay collectees. Thanks a lot to you. when you said about filter in airbox I realized dirt can go to the carburator through air box too. NO I didnt remove the air filter. So I checked the air box. You know the small transparent tube that comes out of the airbox to remove any water entering the airbox. In my bike that tube had a minor damage and there was a hole in it. So dirt enteres through that hole and clogs the carburator. I fixed that hole and today I"m going to the bike shop to get my carburator cleaned again.

i dunno of such law in m'sia.. but since price is already cheaper there.. my advise is at least go for 95 lah...

most vehicles in SG requires octane 95 so if u feel that big diff.. perhaps ur ride requires minimum 95...

anyway, myth has it that dun pump caltex...

it is not that caltex is no good...

but rather, caltex's cleaning agent is too good.. that once u pump caltex, its better that u dun change to others like shell or exxonmobil..

that is the reason why ppl say dun ever go to caltex...

anyway, thats what i heard...

everything stock can bring u to at least 140 as well... just that after it pass the 120 mark it takes longer to reach 140.. thats all..
