hey cbr bros... i have a question to ask

sometimes do you guys feel that the cbr looks abit out of sort ( no offenece here, pardon me (: ) ?

i was wondering, if i were to get a cbr, issit possible to remove the 2 mirror ( as i felt it was rather lengthy ) and replace with, let say a sp/kr mirror which seems shorter and close to the head of the bike.

And i would like to ask issit possible to change the headlights from the original 'eyes' look to something like a kr 'square' look.

And last but not least, the side fairing. Can we do something/mod it to look maybe abit nicer?

i can advice you to make your cbr look like naked bike.

 

 

first

 

take out all fairing including sai tao

the overall is ok. Except the front looks kinda odd, like rabbit head ( once again no offence to cbr 150 riders ). But i really like the 4str and maintenannce effecency (:.

shorter mirrors - yes. with our original mirrors we already have some problems looking whats behind our bikes. shorter mirrors are going to decrease the visibility behind the bike but increase what's beside the bike.

 

changing of headlight & side fairings - yes. if KRs can be modded to fit ducati look-alike headlights, why not the CBR150? essentially u just need to worry abt the cost + legality issues. this is the same for most major cosmetic mods. besides that, usually modified parts dont fit together as nicely or possess durability as that of original parts. as such, u must prepare yrself for some imperfections here and there due to less-than-perfect worksmanship, etc. take for example, those super4 w/ rxz head fairing + headlight. this are secured using aftermarket brackets & maybe cable ties (which may be a bit shaky at times).

 

i tink many of us agree w/ yr part on the beauty of a 4stroke engine in terms of easy & low maintenance. i guess it is really hard to get a bike that meets 100% of what everyone needs. requires some amount of compromise or give & take before u decide on which bike to get. a KR may look good to u today but what if a bike w/ even greater appeal is released into the market tomorrow? a CBR150 may be generally cheap & low in maintenance but what if the bike u get is in a lousy condition?

is there any way to increase the performance of cbr150? just got mine recently. thanks in advance :)

 

i think many of the mods that are done to increase performance of other bikes are generally applicable for cbr150 as well.

 

what specific improvement do u wish to see?

better pickup? top speed? cornering?

oh to all those curious for mirrors and foot rests.. here is the pricing i got from honda.

 

 

Foot rest consist of 2 components.

 

rubber + metal rest itself = $5 + $11 [per side not per pair]

 

for mirror is

 

$23 per side [not per pair.]

yea bro thanks for the much advice and enlightenment, appreciate it very much. I like a kr very very much. And i mean really like it.

But i fear for the monthly expenses. Thus im looking for a 4 str bike and i just cant see myself on a cubs or likewise (sounds fussy, yes i know and im sorry )

Perfection-wise im willing to give and take. I just dun wan the bike to be unstable after modding as life is at stake. So i have ask around and okay, mirror issue solve. As for headlights, how do i go about gettin it legally?

And lastly bro, regrads to the side fairing, take out or leave it there? the whole bike can be respray to a single color right?

Nicer? I took out my stock mirror to put in kr's mirror. I took out the stock footrest to make way for yoshimura (sp and kr version) But i need to let you know.

 

For mirror you need to drill into your bike for a extra hole. For footrest have to cut the lower fairing.

Uncle Lim, it's more a case where i want to let the taiger eat but the taiger don't want to eat.

 

i go to Chinatown i see many taigers, but the taigers bo-chup me. i think they don't like to eat 'ba kut teh'.

in terms of safety... (and if u have the cash) pls get a new bike. i see ur bike problems like that also i get worried....

 

sounds like a case of 'solve one problem another one pops up'.

 

i blame the shop who didn't tell the truth.
