I was reading the phantom knights forum, they had a thread on performance mods. http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=142902

In this topic they discussed performance mods, and the volt stabilizer came up. It seems it can improve fuel consumption and reduce vibration, improve torque and brighten headlights.

I'm now riding a CBR400, the bike has gone through a few mods, previous owner change to white head light, which affects the voltage of the bike.

So sometimes bike cannot start, or quite hard to start. Now I'm wondering will this voltage stabilizer help me in my starting problems? Also will it improve the overall performance of my CBR4?

It seems like a miracle cure that my bike needs, just wonder if it is too good to be true.

that is a "volt meter".

ok, the volt stabilizer under discussion for phantoms are from koon's motor.

being an ex-regular (and now seldom go), i've saw the thing myself and got 1st hand feedback from those who installed it.

this volt stabilizer is actually used for cars. its function is to balance/stable voltage to diff electric components. it can be fit on any bike, regardless of made and model.

it will help to maximize combustion so less fuel is wasted. tat would lead to a saving of fuel consumption abt 5-15%. and being supplying constant voltage to energy consuming components, it can, in a certain degree, help to improve torque.

i myself am riding a 400cc bike, and i think i going to install this stabilizer soon. it cost abt $58 for S version, and $75 for V version (newer version).

Ok, let me put it in an example for all to undertand how the stablizer acts on ur bike..

Imagine a electical socket, and u have only1 socket but say, 10 electrical items to power up.. If u use a multi adaptor to fit all the plugs sure the socket gonna blow up some day due to constant power surging and effect all the other electrical items as well because u are 'sharing' 1 source of electrical supply rite?

The stablizer is like a multiple electrical sockets distributing electricity evenly, so all electrical items will have their own source and that way the electrical flow will be smooth and not power surging 1 source all the time..

Thats how it saves petrol, improves torque because ur spark plugs gets it's sufficient amout of electricity needed rather than sharing it's share with all the other electrical counter parts.. Thats where the term '3pt, 5pt & 7 pt' comes in as in how many electrical sources.

I hope this clears most questions on it's purpose..

i was thinking of installing vol stabalizer for my cars too

Bro, i definately recommed especially if ur car have 2 din CD/DVD player (like mine) this device really sucks up power frm batteries.. I learned it the hard way...

i used to ride the NC29 myself. a 12 year old bike doesn't handle changes in voltage consumption well so it's highly recommended that you KEEP THE BIKE STOCK. i too used HID lights till it melted my switch and drained my battery so much that i had to bump start it for a couple of times. changed the battery and sold the HID bulbs = problem solved.

just curious, if the voltage stabilizer is indeed a miracle device, how come it doesn't come stock on ALL manufactured vehicles? go figure..

i have no knowledge on this voltage stabilizer thing.. i dun believe its a miracle device.. but i wont agree on your sentence on y it doesnt come stock on all manufactured vehicles.. yes i am sure some aftermarket stuff are practically useless.. but there are some that are of some use.. eg, why we change stock tyres to others rather than stock? y add on a volt meter? y must change header to stainless steel ones? most of the stock bikes dun come with a box.. y must we add 1?

all these come to 1 point..

businesses are out to make money..

stock bikes dun come with box for extra storage? they produce and sell it..

stock tyres not good enough? manuacture tyres better than stock..

therefore, fuel consumption no good? not fast enough? there you go.. you have VS and fuel addictives etc..

businesses listen to consumers need.. that's how products appear in the market.. useful or not its up to us consumers to judge..

that having said, i dont believe there's a product whereby can improve fuel consumption and improve power at the same time.. even if both improves.. there got to be a downside of it..

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

All very true!!!:thumb: :thumb: And on the topic of improves F/C, yes it improves but just a little bit...

yup, but abit only extra 50km like dat due to better combustion and electrical systems have their own source that way they won't effect your plugs efficiency which leads to better combustion = to better mileage..

i dun believe it either, UNTIL, my manager gifs mi sumthing FOC. he didnt charge me money for it n i noe he is not doing sales on me. is FREE.

i installed tat thing on my car, it really really improves my pick up, my throttle responce, And, improved my FC too. from last time 8-9km/L, until now 10-11km/L, i installed 2 onli, more to go , maximum up to 24. i believe it now. seriously.

i duno the side effect, so far so good, nth unpleasant happens.

sumtimes, sumthing u muz try it out urself, tehn u will noe whether is good anot.

erm, dun think is SO miracle la.. but more or less, it does have some good effect, arbo ppl wont buy liao rite ? juz liek alarm system, some bike dun come stock with it, ppl buy aftermarket alarm to install?

why not all manufactured comes stock with it, very simple. either cut cost? or no ppl propose to them?

why stock car no reverse sensor, need to add reverse sensor or reverse camera?

why stock bike no volt meter, need add on volt meter ?

manufactured need to improve on their product also. maybe if some volt stabaliser product company go propose their product to bike manufactured, n the price is reasonble, is not surprice to see that brand's stock bike carrying volt stabaliser next time.

rx8 does comes with stock struct bar iztn't it ? while integra dun.

one good example is, my company go propose to another agent car, n we do supply them with reverse sensors n alarms systems. propose is important. haha

Grounding is where all your static electricity or accidental short circuit goes bck to your battery and in ur case if u have volt stabilizer it goes there.. Nuthing much... In other words, nuthing goes to waste... Like singapore lor! Recycle water.. haha!
