hi all, wanted to haf an additional light to be ON only when brake is tap, how do i go about connect? how does the brake light connector looks like & where is it?

most bike brake light comes with high and low beam and ground 3 wire tap the 3rd brake light positive to the high beam and the other wire to any ground will do the job.

dude... brake light dun have high and low beam... its using a double filament bulb, and yes it has 3 wires. 1 earth, 1 constant 12V and 1 only when you tap brake.

thks thks, but how do i noe which wire is for always ON & which is to ON only when brake is tap?

What brand and model of bike? Can usually give you wire color codes if you know that.

Honda, for example, on many bikes, will have green/brown ground wire, green/red brake light wire, and brown/white is running lights.

If you have VOM meter or continuity light you can test and find out pretty quickly.

maybe you can juz try every hole then you will know which is the correct 1..only 3 hole should be easy for this....

not advisable bro.. u might burn the fuse, or bulb if like that..

best is to use a voltmeter..

sorry how to go about testing wif voltmeter, i'm noe nothing bout electrical

care to share how?

1st step : turn the knob to DC voltage(if u r using multimeter)

2nd step : use the -ve(black color) probe n poke it into a ground wire

3rd step : use the +ve(red color) probe n poke it to the remaining 2 wires each at 1 time

if u see 12V reading then tats the always "ON" wire. Then u poke the other wire tat show 0V, step on ur brake now n read the voltmeter. It should show some reading of voltage..

Note : If u see a reading of negative voltage ie; -12V.. that means ur probe is terbalik liao... juz swap the probe then u wil get positive voltage..

for eg.. there is 3 cables...

Red

Green

Black

assuming 1 cable is for ground means 0volts.

1 cable is for normal brake light - on always (12volts)

1 cable is for brighter brake light- on when brakes are being pressed

will jump from 0 to 12 volts

so u take the black end of the multimeter and ground it.. means to place it either to the negative terminal of your battery, or ur metal chasis of ur bike.. most people use the metal chasis of the bike..

den measure on cable by one cable.. and u can determine which cable is which...

experts pls correct me if i am wrong...
