Hi Bro

We dyno @ Unity..

This is what we usually do..

Hopefully you've ridden for about 15-20 mins b4 reaching unity so that engine is already warmed up.

We'll remove revtec from your battery terminals.. then you go for a baseline run.. a couple of times

next.. we'll put in revtec.. and then let the bike idle for a couple of mins.. b4 doing a few runs again..

then we'll try the other one.. and then do a few runs again.

you interested? free! =D

sure...just let me know when u want my bike to be at unity.

relax la...till now still no cfm date yet.

but i did kind of "run-in" the RT on a 300km trip up north.

yesterday felt that it more easy to ride at below 4.5k rpm @88km/hr....but going to usual 5.5k [email protected]ttle feel hard to twist.

i dun mind having it for relax riding....but.................:faint:

then i guess u were not alone,

last sat 3 RR fix up de RT also.

1 feedback - engine more rough, harder to pull

1 feedback - throttle feel harder to twist from 5.5k rpm onwards

1 feedback - power is smooth out(less?) and more noticeable on hot days

not sure abt other RR(1k/600) user out there having such feedback anot. :sian:

wa bro, u went for the malacca trip ?

i guess the last part u r reffering to me, its smooth in the lower revs, makes the bike easier to ride since our bike has sorta weak pickup

but 5.5k onwards is jus rising slowly, machiam theres no powerband

so i guess our feedback is more or less the same ?

in some blend...i prefer to take it at 6~7k rpm...thats when the bike dun listern to my righ hand....abit annoy but still "live-able".

in whichever case, the RT has been disconnect on mine.so i cant say much abt de FC.

nope,i didnt join de 1k RR guys.i went up on sun to genting w my tour kakis.

manz....it a bad choice...on de RR.

when i rch there....i was spending hours FLAT on de bed instead of dwn at casino.:faint:

ya,de point #3 was refer to yours.

i'm not sure was it my mind playing trick...but my throttle seems to need more strengh to twist it wide open beyond the 5.5k mark.ride did pickup speed but not hitting 2xxkm/hr...so no idea abt de powerband....as de rest were on cruise mode.:giddy:

looks like the jury is still out on whether the RT is an improvement on our RR.

anyway, i've disconnected my alarm, and my batt problems miraculously have disappeared. it cranks eagerly on start-up every morning now, and mind you, i haven been activating the alarm, its been in standby mode. disclaimer: i donno if its a prob with the alarm or my unproffesional diy wiring.

i disconnected becoz it frequently went off for 'no reason', which probably disturbed my neighbours at nite and a big no-no when parked at my workplace. so if i paiseh to use at home and at work, no point. again, disclaimer: i donno if its coz i fixed at fairing rather than under tank as recommended by seller.

so my final review: i loved it while it was working fine and before it drained my batt. sure will deter ppl with itchy backside want to sit on my bike. but the two problems i mention is simply unacceptable. i may consider another model if i'm sure theres one without the two problems i mentioned.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

btw, i cant believe wat a diff michelin pilot powers can make to the bike.

i've been hooked on the pilot powers coz my fav bike mag rates it the best road tires for sportsbikes (not including road-legal track tires like supercorsas and power race, which they love even more. i mean heck, if tire manufacturers willingly throw u tires FOC to use, of coz u'd love those tires and not care about the fact that they wear out too quickly).

some quotes from the mags.

fitted to an '05 R1:

"The standard Dunlop 218s keep most of the R1's ability far from the reach of its pilot. Not only that, but they squared off in no time and totally f*ed the steering. All in all, they're the worst sports tyres on tha market. Thankfully, Michelin came to the rescue and bunged a set its Pilot Powers my way.

This change alonoe improved the R1 dramatically; for a start, not every corner felt like my last. Dry grip is better than that of Bridgestone's very good BT-014 and Pirelli's Diablo Corsa, and when it's raining the Michelins are remarkable. The R1 would spin up in sixth at 140mph in the wet on the Dunlops; on Powers you can hold it to the stop in first and it'll wheelie rather than spin.

Not only that, bnut I've covered 1,500 miles with them now, and they've still got their shape. I couldn't be much more impressed, if anyone tells you there's a better road tyre, they're wrong."

fitted to a GSX-R1000K5:

"I've always been a fan of the 014, but the Pilot Power has dramatically improved the Thou' on every road surface, in all weathers, and at all levels of aggression.

The front end feel and levels of grip have improved significantly. The front no longer pushes under fast cornering and when getting on the power out of corners. In addition, the rear doesn't feel close to breaking away on the gas all the time.

The way they cope in the wet is laughable - and I don't mean that in a bad way. Some poor bloke in a Porsche GT3 got the shock of his life when he couldn't shake me in the wet on my ride home. There was so much grip that hard braking and decent lean were easy and safe, and on the straights you could pick the front up off the power, or the clutch, at will. I was laughing my head off. The guy was a good sport though, and stopped at the next junction to ask what the bike was, and where he could get one."

got mine for 350, inc installation but no balancing done. for Pilot Powers, thats an unbeatable price. be sure to get Pilot Powers and not Pilot Sport (sport touring for haya and ZX-12) or Power Race (road-legal tracks which look like the treads cut out with pen knife), unless thats what you want after all.

uncle hock wasn't kidding when he told me the tyres want to corner. it really does. immediately on moving off, i noticed that once u try initiate a turn, be it at low speeds, e-way speeds or plain ol' aggressive cornering, the bike from upright position will suddenly drop to its side like its going to fall. it was so drastic that even before i left the compound where the workshop was i started wondering if i had made the right choice if the tyre seemed to rob my bike of its stability.

i was there with a friend on GSX-R600K5 with BT-014 (mine is D218). the cup of the Pilot Powers was noticably fiercer than either the BT-014 or D218.

i donno bout the BT-014, but coming off the D218, this new tendency to drop on its side like a rock was a little disconcerting; like i said, it felt like my bike had grown unstable. i repumped the tyres to manual recommended settings today, and it feels better, but the behaviour is still there, more than the D218.

But i'm excited because once i'm used to this new personality, i realize this tendency to drop to its side actually lasts for only a split second when u first tug the handlebar or shift body weight to start turning; once on its side, at 50km dry it already feels more grippy than my D218 at 500km. and while taking it easy for running in, i frequently find myself oversteering. hmm.... thats new, i always complain the RR likes to understeer.....

i'm excited, 350 is a fantastic deal, the potential is great, but i have to reserve further review until the tyres fully run-in.

i got give advise b4 hand 1 hor......

reason for not putting online is cos...this tire may not suit those that "dun" want to lean.remember i always stress de word "lean" to u b4 hand? kekeke

my wild guess.u were riding it with 41psi pressure ? and maybe u were still in early time of riding aka tire not warm up yet) ?

i had those effect also.so i drop the rear to front 34psi Rear 38psi.now i can attend to power out during apex point.......:cheeky: :cheeky:

u will love the dry time riding....and respect the tire/road during wet riding.

in whichever case....u cant beat that price...oh...better dun let others know the price...so workshop may not be happy with it.:nono:

yah. i definitely dun recommend bikes like fazer using these tyres. dun put these on bikes (or riders) that dun want to corner. i stand by my answer to you: dun like to corner dun buy sportsbike :cheeky:

when i inserted the nozzle into cold tyres, found my front at 320 and rear 200. weird combi. its now at manual recommended front 250 and rear 290.

never underestimate the effect of tyre pressures on the bike's handling

in whichever case....u cant beat that price...oh...better dun let others know the price...so workshop may not be happy with it.:nono:

i decided to reveal price but not place. other workshops sell higher price not happy, up to them to see they can offer more competitive price, we as consumers will benefit. but decided not to reveal place to avoid trouble for/from the shop and i dun guarantee that others can get those price even at the same shop if the shop decide to remove this great offer. of coz fellow RRiders can sms me or hock to ask where.

mech - try to lower the pressure by 1~2 psi for both end....when cold...u will realise the tire lean much better.:thumb:

good for local wet.....while up at highland...i go down to F33/R36psi for down hill....damn shiock ! :bounce:

well...to be fair for all partys.

the product DOES work.

so it not de fault of the product.

but somehow the reaction from the product does seems to mismatch with our bike's nature.

i mean.....if dun like high rpm rev,low lean angle, forward riding position....then what for get a sportbike? may as well get a normal 110~400cc(no pun intented) & ride it within the 5k rpm range.....lolz :cheeky:
