by the way, i just read this up: http://www.600rr.net/vb/showthread.php?t=48569, a forumer mentioned the bike needs 13.0-13.5V, which was indeed what the mech measured. he just felt it wasn enuff coz a super4 runs it at 14++V. so my new size 7 super4 batt might be fine after all.

how can i charge batt at home? what thingies will i need, where to buy them and how much will they cost? hock, recommendations? thanx.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

measure the batt with 3k RPM HOLD - shd read 13.5v & above

measure the batt with 5k rpm HOLD - shd read 14v & above

*ah Tee can read 14.4v on de last ONE(fitted with RT)

mech u might wan to take note the readin taken off a cheap multimeter and a industry one reading might be different

i tried using my 20 dollar meter and a fluke meter the difference is quite signicant

u can borrow from any engineering grads from ite/poly/u , they shld be using the FLUKE one, tis one cfm accurate as my ex engineering firm is using also

if cannot find lemme know again

and reputable shops will be able to pinpoint exactly wad component is gone

they can take readins off different place n cfm

where do u stay

i'm not sure which is the FLUKE, but the fella was using a digital multi-meter which looked like the kind i could find in my labs last time. in any case, wouldn be too much of a prob for me to pop by skul and get hold of lab-standard meter from a fren still inside, so thanx very much for the offer.

the prob is....... i have a prob but i donno what/where it is.... :giddy:

in any case, anyone can tell me where i can get stuff to charge my batts at home, and how much it'll cost?

if problem persists i'm bringing my bike down to K&T let em check see what exactly is the prob. for now, i'll see if this batt solves it. size 7 and size 10 batt if same rating shdn be a prob rite......

the reading i got was from a old multi meter brand "shawa"(wrong spelling).

size 7 & size 10 of a batt mainly refer to the mAH & CCA different.

in general, batt are all either 12v/24v.main thing is the store cap of the battery(makchaim like handphone battery-850mah) and for car/bike,CCA is more important.CCA will come in handy when engine is cold & u had to crank de engine up by starter motor(electrical)

i assume u are using the size 7 batt now? then have to compare spec between the size 7 & 10 batt liao.maybe the size 7 cant "Store" that much "elect power" ?

lastly, charing system on bike is base/relia on de altnerator/recificer.

best is compare both same model on same condition.then u would know whether is there fault in de charging system anot liao.:cheeky:

i bought a battery charger for 12v/24v from sim lim tower awhile back.

cost me $130 back then.

use normal 3-pin 240v wall socket.

takes about 8hrs to full-charge a GL battery from flat-to-Full.:cheeky:

I got a budget charger from simlim which cost me ard 20+ to 30+, can't remember the exact figures. It's a 1A, 12V charger. Decent enough to charge my batt once in a while. Comes with cut-off function when the batt is fully charged too.

It's from a shop facing the escalator in basement that sells mainly batteries.

Anyway guys, my headlight protector just got stolen. Mine is a mixture of both tinted (for high beam side) and clear. Have never seen a cbr600/1000RR with this combination yet. Just take note....

A shame for that fellow if he is a fellow CBR rider. Was hoping more on mischief rather than stealing to use it on his own bike or to sell it.

Try to take off your headlight socket

when starting and riding as to save current flow.

Small little thing can become urgly or you can join the 1k club.
