The cost of energy is always going up, even if there is a drop in import fuel prices, the shareholder at the petrolum company is not going to give us muz rebate. The news juz announced another 3% hike in our PUB bills :giddy:

K&n only give the roar sound, better air flow and last long.

Power wise with standard exhaust so so only

K&n with after market exhaust not that great

It's better to have k&n, pc and exhaust.

You can play around with it.

Correct me if I'm wrong

wow...who dare to STAND on uncle superbike.

aftermarket air filter on a stock bike? dun gain but LOSE low end pickup leh.

reason?

simple lor....if the bike dun have any adjustable A/F ratio device(PC3?) that means the fuel supply is FIX.

putting in a air filter will just increase the air mess but fuel supply remain unchange.what it will result is a LEAN condition lor.(but...but LEAN is good.no? -of course it good but NOT too lean lor).

back to de "stock bike with high flow air filter".

during pickup will "Feel" slow - cos too much air but fuel remain little.too little fuel to "combus" & force the piston down.

during top rev will endanger engine aka engine paing - cos again...too muhc air but fuel remain little.when top rev time....piston is turning at 14k+ RPM(round per min).too much air but too little fuel...will make the block "hot" when it turn "too" hot...then piston jam on de block....and...dun need to say lor..engine paing liao.:faint:

so unless...there is a adjustable A/F ratio device installed...best is use stock la.since the A/F were pre-programe in factory...so it will match swee swee with all the other parts 1.:thumb:

Not very sure about the low end pickup, but the lean mixture is correct. As mentioned, more air than fuel.

I believed that the ECU can managed abit of the air/fuel ratio to a certain extent. Just like on a cold morning(air being more dense), which most of us should be able to feel that the bike performs more responsively and smoother. But with aftermarket parts like air filter and exhaust system, it's too much for the ECU to handle. That's where stuffs like Power Commander comes in...

Some corrections:

Piston dont turn, they move up and down. Uncle Hock, u definately know this way b4 me.....

RPM = Revolution Per Min

And RPM measures the crankshaft not the piston?

With all these said, I am still running with a micron without any PC3....:giddy:

Just discussing, no punk intended! :cheeky:

Wah liou me so old already cannot STAND so up leh but can stand long long.

Heheheh

Nong nong time ago till now some bikers mindset is still the same

as they like to operate this internal.

Outside standard, inside lighten and the end part little bit bigger in diameter.

At one glance can't see. Look origina

Feedback from them is so so. Only roaring and louder.

I supposed they forget to calculate the inside part of the exhaust and the fuel air mixture. Don't be suprised if you see me using that STANDARD exhaust.

hehehehe

This is becouse the standard fuel map is too rich.

You can use this map with other after market part but you will feel sluguish when you open throttle in an instant. You guy should notice this

Other then then no complain.

Usually tuning is a process of plus minus the figure but if you add all up the total.

The answer is less amount of fuel use.

Good a can save petrol but watch out your plug.

It will definately hotter than normal.

Hehehehe

The teory is you can't get both world.

:goodluck:

wahaha...i didnt know i need a spell check b4 posting in here.

i will remind myself to do that b4 my next post in this tread.

----

not exactlly a correction but just some layman term instead of chim chim words which may just confuse ppl instead.

#1-be surpise that the "map" store are quite Fix in the stock CDI/ECU/PGN-FI/whatever u want to name it.

#2-engine feel strong when the Air is cooled.works the same like ppl put ice on intercooler for turbo car.

#3- Yes,Piston dun "turn" by itself.it a fix item thats connected to the con rod/crank rod/whatever u want to name it...... but when the piston turn A full 360 cycle.normally ppl refer as 1-turn or 1-round.not talking abt RPM yet.

#4-"RPM" term are quite subjective lor.there are two camps on it.it kind of like BHP vs PS.it aint the same but both refer to the same thing just different standard.

overall...i guess i just have to pick my words more carefully for my future post in here.my english not that good.

hehehehe

The "Art" of internal is a gift.

but not many out there can do it nicely.

unless u intend to diY...then u have to calcuate a few variable factor lor.

*detail is offline or else i will have headache again.:cheeky:

K & N? I try to ask my contacts lor... maybe you can install yourself la, quit eeasy wat just open tank cover:thumb:

last time i also thought it will be a easy task just like my 954. Just remove the air box lid and swoop the air filter.....in the end one of the screw attaching the air filter to the air box need a inpact to remove it..... :giddy:

Of course, it would be best if you have the PC3 but then again, I read in some other threads that when they dyno-ed using a KNN/stock air filter on bikes, the difference is really not big. I guess they don't really take air-filters into consideration during dyno-runs cos of the minimal diff.
