Colacin.. Redline on 6th gear.. I loikkee!!! :cheeky: it's a great feeling to do dat.. U guys shud try.. But on the track lah.. After ridden the bike for 2yrs, and after more than 5sizes of rear sprocket, I found that 16t 44t really suits the bike.. But if u r already doin 1:45 at pg wanna do below 1:40, go for 16t 43t..

Hahaha, Dr. Dol, exactly my point... I think you and your bike match all of my criteria ;) That and you are just faster than us too, lol.

Which is why I make the point of just changing the sprocket to the bros who go with a slip-on.

Ahduck you are correct- add a PC3, Bazzazz, etc. If you change to full-system you will have more flow through the system - if you add more air flowing in, you want to make sure you add a bit more fuel so you have the right ratio of fuel to air.

but thinking about that, fitting so many of these stuff, how many times did we exploit the bikes maximum potential? putting so much stuff also waste money sia.

sorry that is my own opinion.

Stick to the speed limit!!!

Bro, me too, i seldom hit 7k rpm on sg road.... Unless its a Sun morning when i hafta go work. If not, the timing that i ride on sg road.... The most i hit is like 6rpm...

Btw, care to elaborate more on this word "fueling". Wat does it mean?

Tracker... can anyone tell me abt the usage on RCS brembo brake / pump... wat is the different between this to our stock one..

if it help on braking system then how does this compare to discbrake / brakepad/ brake hose/ brake calipper

RCS compared to stock MC:

Larger diameter piston so the brake pads move further with the same amount of lever travel, so it would feel like the brakes 'bite' faster. Better quality in general which benefits precision, feel, longevity, and ultimate performance. Superstock race classes usually require the use of OEM brake hardware (not pads) so what you already have is not bad at all.

Adjustable leverage ratio so you get 2 options- 1) more mechanical leverage + longer lever travel or 2) less mechanical leverage + shorter lever travel. What this means.

1) You need to pull the lever farther to get a certain amount of pad travel. The force required to pull the lever and create a force on the pads is smaller. This generally means you get more 'feel' or can be more precise with small inputs. It also means that if you grab the lever in a panic you will put a very great force into the brakes which you may not actually want.

2) You don't need to pull the lever as far to get the pads to move and therefore this is somewhat less precise than option 1. You need to pull harder on the lever to get a certain amount of force to the pads. In this case, if you grab hard on the brakes the force on the pads will be smaller than with option 1.

Those are the differences with just changing the MC. It's not really easy to compare changing the MC alone to all of the other options you listed, so here is a summary. What you can try to affect is fade (losing performance after repeated usage, generally only noticeable on the track) power, and feel. The side effects can be losing weight which can improve handling.

In order of expense-

Change pads: better bite (initial or ultimate power) on the brakes and greater resistance to fade.

Change hoses: improve feel and power

Change MC: improve feel, power, fade

Change rotors: improve fade, feel, weight, power

Change calipers: improve feel, power, fade, weight

You can change any or all, but if you do some but not all, you won't necessarily get the full benefit.

Change pads, you can feel it.

Change hoses, you might not feel it.

Change MC but not hoses, you don't get the full benefit

etc.

It comes down to what you want - ultimate power? best feel? lighter weight? Even if you don't go to the track you can benefit from making some changes, but if you aren't confident in your ability to control the improved power you can scare yourself into thinking your brakes are too powerful - this is not a good position to be in. If you think your current brakes are damn strong and are a bit worried about the power already- don't change anything until you have mastered them - the OEM setup is plenty strong for the street.

BUT. Brakes are nothing without tires... and tires are so much more important for bikes vs. cars. I'm not talking about brand A vs. brand B, but tire pressure, proper temperature, and feel. There is no substitute for experience here. You have to pay attention to what is happening beneath you and how the feel changes in difference situations. But that is another topic altogether, lol.

If u have the spare cash of coz it's nice to have the brembos.. But honest guys the stock brake system are very good.. U only need to replace the hose and upgrade the pads to HH or equivalent.. Not forgeting to frequently maintain or service the system.. Weekly basis clean ur brake rotor with a Brake Clean by spraying it on a clean cloth and use force to clean it.. Brands of Brake Clean available in the market Maxima, Motul, Motorex etc.. Then once a mth flush the brake fluid and replace.. Every 6mths full service the calliper.. By doin this, ur brake system will alway be u good condition.. Better than having the brembos and not maintaining them

If you're counting on the bike saving your life you'd be better off driving, dude. I'm not trying to give you a hard time- but when you're on a bike you're all you've got against the world on 4 wheels. If you don't have, or aren't confident in your skills - practice until you are.

Honda's ABS is a great bit of engineering but that doesn't mean it can get you out of any and all tight spots and all you need is the lever- YOU have to get yourself out and the ABS is just one tool to do so.

That said- if you're riding the street and it's in your budget- there's no reason to avoid it.

thr abs version dont really do much to the bike... to be frank not worth to top by a few thousand to it ( i am talking abt 1-2k) as compare to normal one. These $$$ use it for brembo it will help better.

*saving ur life in wat way? think abt it u r riding a 2 wheeler not a 4 wheeler.

Even u have the most ex helmet, best riding jacket it doesnt really save much.

i totally agree with u and colacin that riding bikes has more risks and the rider itself plays a major role in his own safety...

but no offence sis, ABS dont really do much to the bike? if a frequent tracker wud to say that, i agree.. but the ABS is a beautiful technology that serves its purpose well, and delivers.. Popular magazines and websites gave excellent reviews and tests by experienced riders regarding the ABS system, 2 thumbs up both in 1000s and 600s.. MCN is one of them that shows a good video of it.. :thumb:

but again, the rider holds the main role, and the ABS is a plus point when every metres count of the stopping point upon braking, especially during wet days and the rider decided to jam his front brakes in a moment to avoid a sudden stop by the vehicle in front... The ABS can save you from locking up ur wheels, or might save you from hitting the front vehicle by stopping the bike few metres earlier..

but it's everyone's $$ to decide to get the ABS version or not.. many old time tourers i know opt to have it if the bike they bought has that option..

it's just my personal opinion, cus ive played around my cousin's 600rr09, a noob lyk me can feel the difference.. peace

thanks all for you comments. i really appreciate it.

i've been riding my phantom for 2++ years already. All is good when it's dry, but when it pours, that's when it gets really scary.. especially on the brakes.

I've had the unfortunate experience of locking up the CB750's front brakes on the e-stop section (max 40kmph). i managed to let the brakes go, spinning the front wheels, and regaining control of the bike. but by that time, i've shot pass the red line, 10 meters ahead. So if road conditions were like in the test section, wet with just milimeters of water on the road, i would have rear-ended the car in front. As experienced motorcyclists, has anyone experience an instance which i've described above?

There are many ABS bikes out there, but i'm looking for one which i can do regular commuting with occasional long-distance to KL/malaysia etc. RIght now the CBR600RR C-ABS is one of them, and i think that's the only supersports bike on the market in singapore that has ABS. (correct me if i'm wrong). VFR800 has C-ABS but that has been discontinued model from honda.

HL sells the fazer 1 with ABS but not on the 600s.

thanks

bus - i feel that if ur purpose is to have ABS and not having a sport bike that u shld look out for something comfortable. I am not too sure what bike out there have abs version hear that FZ do have but dunno wat model or version. I guess u better ask bike shop for more detail. From a cruising bike to a sport bike is a very big different, if u dont ride a class 2a s4 or sport bike u might have problem handling it (personal view).

Buying bike is easily but buy liao not happy and not comfortable then is a waste of $$$ and time. The worse thing is without proper handling it might cause u harm so but something u are comfortable with. Take care and ride safe.
