Always ride safely and defensively.

Repair bike cheap and fast,

Repair body expensive and slow.

I don't think Pan Europeans are classified as sports tourers.

Prob the STXs are 80% Tourer, 20% Sports. seems more like a Sporty-looking Tourer rather than a Sports-Tourer.

FJRs are more like 60% Tourer, 40% Sports.

VFRs are more like 40% Tourer, 60% Sports

i've had a '04 VFR & a '05 FJR.

how abt the BMW R1100S ?

Jus my 2 cents worth.... :thumb:

Depends on your definition on sport touring. I personally rode most of the bikes below:

-VFR: Hunched down position most closely resemble that of a sports bike. Least comfortable of the lot here but most capable of going onto track amongst the bikes here.

- Blackbird, Hayabusa, ZZ-14: Hunced-downposition more comfortable than VFR. Can tour to distance places too. But more comfortable at >150kmh.

- Fazer FZ1 (EFI model): Half-faired but a seriously good sport tourer. Position more upright than VFR. But has sports bike engine. Windshield good for up to 150kmh.

- FJR: Dedicated high-speed upright sports tourer. Great for cruising at >200kmh along straight northsouth highway.

-STX1300: Dedicated high-speed upright sports tourer. Less power than FJR at >200kmh but more fun along the twisties. Also more posh.

May I recommend the Triumph Sprint ST 1050cc... Excellent handling with bags of torque from the 3-cyl engine. Sweet undertail 3-outlet exhaust, and hard panniers come as standard accessories. :D

Suzuki GSX750F! That is if you are lucky enough to find one... hehe

how abt the BMW R1100S

oh yeah, thats a looker!

BMW's f800st too! The bike mags have claimed it as a competitor to the VFR. Some of us are discussing it over at the BMW thread.

Actually, you're right. STs are sports tourers (hence the 'S' and 'T').

Paiseh :cheeky:

I always thought of sports tourers as machines like the blackbird, VFR, etc.
