so far as i can see, i assume no one disagree with opening a X8 Cafe. In this case, i think we will active it on the spot rather than waiting for another 6 more days

Hi X8 riders,

pls make full use of it and gather all the X8 riders :cheer:

All, i m new to CVT after stop riding more than 10 years!! Notice my X8 will create "cracking" sound when I turn right - sharp turning even at the speed of 5-10kmh. anyone have this experience?

Turning left is OK without any noise. Checked brake is ok and nothing seems loose! Will call service centre tomorrow.

BTW, when I have the X8, my breaklight don't seems to function properly (need to jam break before the light will turn on) and fortunately Piaggio service centre do a good job and get it done for me. thanks for the prompt service.

other than the above, no complaint so far.

Just an update. the X8 seat really too high for Asian. I have to cut down by around 10-15mm at least.

Now my two leg can touch the ground now. I m 1.73 height.

One common design flaw is the joint (both side) somewhere centre below the seat. Not flush in perfectly.

yup i agreed with tow kay also as although X8 share the same leader engine as X9 or atlantic but they certainly have differences for example the engine mounting or even the main stand mounting. so it is good if the X8 riders can share infor with each other it will bennefit other newbies that is going to get X8 for their first bike as well...

no active trips since 2006

Time for someone to take care of X8 liao... haha

Yo gundam, don't be sad. Until you try to sit on the bike than you will know whether it's suitable for you anot.... Many people also don't like X9 but we still got it main reason is what we feel is nice we will buy right?

So before everything, get your license first and at the same time recce for suitable bikes.

Hi DT8666, I also admit the seat for X8 is too high. I am abt 1.65, I have to tip-toe to reach the ground. U mention you have cut your seat, any recommendations where to do it? And what is the cost? Will it affect the seat compartment below the seat? meaning will rain water leak into the seat compartment?

Yup, after cut the seat, now more confidence in handling the bike when I stop at traffic. Safer when you can touch the ground completely.

Do note that when you cut it, you need to take out the seat cover, they will replace with additional sponge. Price will depend on your choice of cover. I got it done at shop 219. price range from 50+ to 80+. If you don't want to spend too much, you can opt to use back your cover, not sure if it will fits perfectly or not.

The shop will apply a layer if silicon to make it water proof, don't know if it work but safely come first, so just do it lor..

You may consider having some degree of cut at font end and have more sponge for comfort at middle since the overall space is large enough. I did not think about this before, may redo mine next time.

BTW, many shop do it so you have all the options.

Good luck!

Hi...yes i admit i have some difficulty when stopping at traffic light....i try to look for kerb to rest my leg....hee hee....that is why I ask DT8666 about cutting the seat. If no kerb, I still can reach the ground by tiptoe, but only on 1 leg, not both legs on the ground....btw the way are you going 2nite for the gathering? if not I can let you try on the height of my seat....FYI my bike is a black X8, plate number FZ **** P
