yesterday i just change both my front and rear brake fluid to dot 5.1.

after changing to dot 5.1, the effect is awesome ... with much lesser squeeze than before ... the bike slows down and stop :thumb:

highly recommended ... i use original brake hose and now my brakes have so much "feel"

today is a better day than yesterday and the day before

Thanks for the info, how long have you been using your current pair? How would you rate it?

*edited : Found your previous post regarding the GT501, will try it out. :)

GT501 is a touring tyre and i like the tyre thread pattern :)

i have change to this pair last year and since they are of harder compound ... they should last long.

corner wise; pls do not "kup" like a sports bike.

i had used Michelin Pilot Sport before and really can "kup" till scrap pedal ... the only down side is that they wear off bloody fast.

need help from u guys here.. my bike was unable to start for no reason after i park for awhile.. i was able to crank but just unable to get it started. after trying for sometime, i can start and manage to move off. what could be the reason if u guys do know. btw i am riding a cb sevenfifty.

If you park in open carpark a few days, the fuel in the carbs may have evaporated and there is no more fuel in the carb bowl because the engine is not running. [edit: remember fuel-cock is vacuum operated by vacuum when piston on downward stroke]

As the fuel-cock is vacuum operated, after cranking for some time [edit: providing your battery is still strong enough], fuel begins to flow and then eventually gets into the engine and the engine starts.

One work-around is to put fuel cock to "Reserve" mode, which does not rely on vacuum. Wait around 10-20 secs. Start engine.

Normally this works for me. Don't forget to put fuel cock back to normal mode after this or else you may run out of fuel without any Reserve.

Hope this helps.

i think what d other chap meant is to put your petcock to 'prime' which in my case (Suzuki Katana) is between on n reserve. fuel will then flow freely.. no vacum..

Silly me but perhaps u may wanna consider pulling choke for quiker start.. I do dat.. = )

my 2cents anyhoo...

Thanks Bernardk....I'm the one who bought the water hose from you....hehe. Anyway I believe you fabricated your rack at SK too, mind to share with me how much it cost and how long does it take?

hehehe, my vance n hines is coming. :)

Teddy, u wont want a box on ur cb1000 lah. affects the handling of the bike. i took my box out when i got the cb750.

Go touring easier lah bro....don't have to wrap here and there before moving off.... regarding the handling, it's the rider not the bike! Hahaî„…!
