Hi all~~

By any chance if any of you guys are looking into getting good quality GOREtex jackets/raincoat. Please give my product a consideration too.

link : http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php/369640-CLEARANCE-SALES-OF-GORETEX-RAINCOATSJACKETS-(-ALL-MUST-GO!-)-Not-Common-Brands?p=7750076#post7750076

Alot of color choices and not the common brands of raincoat riders are using. Quality of water resistant is as good as NS issued. However, it's of a much thinner layers to suit our hot climate. Mutiple air ventilation zippers on the jacket too for riding during the day to protect from sun. More info please refer to thread or contact us! Thanks and ride safe! Cheers!~~

Try BikeLab. I had mine done there for about $260. Pretty decent. Be firm with your deadlines if you need the shocks in a hurry; Joshua can sometimes take a while if he's busy with other work.

Hi all.

Thought I'd share some pictures with you guys. My bike started life as a 1998 CB750FIIN (RC42) JDM. She used to look like this:

338306_10150343151326359_1587852145_o.jpg

Standard maroon paintwork, utilitarian box on the back. The only mods I did were to add Motovation bar end weights (the heaviest I could find, to try and reduce vibration levels) and add some foam to the seat (had it done for $60 at Eugene Saddlery).

I got bored and decided to jazz up the bike a little. Some of the stuff I did...

1) Polish and clear-coat the cylinder head covers and some of the engine covers

2) Open up the exhaust for a more throaty sound (http://www.nighthawk750.com/mods/exhaust.html)

3) Add relays for the headlight and a master relay for all the electrical power (purchased a Spec III headlight for $70, brand new, from Ever Success Auto Parts, near Mustafa)

4) Bypass the rotten main fuse and fit my own waterproof fuse holder (http://tuniyama.blogspot.sg/2009/11/updates.html)

5) Convert the signal lights to LED; convert the brake light to LED (http://tuniyama.blogspot.sg/2012_09_01_archive.html)

6) Swap fork springs over to HyperPro progressive springs (US$100, a friend couriered them home for me)

7) Add LOUD horns (From tuniyama.blogspot.com)

8) Rebuild the rear shocks (BikeLab)

9) Repair broken RHS side cover and paint the bike in Mercedes E200 Metallic Grey (Ban Hock Hin, http://www.banhockhin.com.sg)

10) Powdercoat forks, swingarm, triple clamp, wheels and other bits and pieces in gloss black (David Kong @ Weng Wah, #01-464, 11 Defu Lane 10 (S)539192 P(6287 5086))

11) Fit SSDC CB750 High Bars ($50 from FJT Parts) for more comfort

12) Braided brake lines by STAR, extra long to fit the high handlebars ($150 including install from Ban Hock Hin)

13) Modified XJ900P Police RHS switchgear so I can use the switches to run fog lights etc (Ban Hock Hin)

14) FEHLING crash bars from eBay

15) Forks modified to allow adjustable preload (spares from eBay)

16) Chromed carburettor parts (David Kong)

The LED conversions and horns were done by Tuniyama Industries (Ah Bear, 93658648). No super-quick flashing that is common with LED conversions because he supplies a modified LED flasher for use with the LED signals.

All other workmanship done by Ban Hock Hin.

Here are some pictures. Enjoy!

mine is this kind of shock leh. different from yours. :(

fookboi:

I'm assuming you bought the bike with these shocks? I don't think they're the right shocks for the bike; the top mount looks a little offset and the shock seems to be leaning inwards as you go from the bottom of the shock to the top. Also, the mounting bolt is not the original; I just hope the stock shocks were not stolen/sold off and some wrong ones were used as a replacement!

If you can spare the cash, you can pick up a set of YSS shocks (don't buy local, order from overseas); or order a set of Progressive Suspension shock absorbers (they are pretty cheap on eBay). We're looking at maybe $400 for a pair? Otherwise you could call up Bikelab and see if they have a set of shocks for sale.

Other good alternatives include Hagon and Ikon (both pretty cheap and quality is extremely decent).

Good luck!

MJ

Hello All CB750 Lovers,

I am new to this thread and have given up on looking for the bikes that I know I will never be able to own in Singapore. They do exist I have been told but I have never ever been able to find them. Moving on, I have a serious interest in the DOHC CB750F from the very early 80's, the model just after the SOHC K and FII models.

Can anyone help me locate one please? I have been looking around with not luck at all, so I will need help. Anyone on this thread riding this model ( not interested in selling is fine, just want to say Hi ). Any info or leads to track one down will be sincerely appreciated. In the old days, I remember that these bikes were everywhere......... not so now. COE I guess killed them off.

Thanks for the time to read this and all, do please ride safe.

You can get from ah boy now he have Furukawa only i think YTX12-BS. If you need any infor just FB me at [email protected]. Welcome to the club.

Affordable and recommended service center i use to go is Combine Motors at Sim Ming Auto point 2nd floor but is each to their own preference. So far the mechanics there 3 of them i trust them fully. Never fail my expectation before. Today just went down they are damn busy. Must be my mouth open too big intro too many ppl go there now my bike he also no time do HAHAHAHHA.

I think fork suspension recommended should be Bikelab they are specialize in suspension. But if you can get progressive spring for your fork online you can get any bike shop to fix for you. But heard HKL using Ohlins oil. So each to their own choice. I still stick to my Combine motor.

Hi all,

New member here. Nice to see this thread getting lively again. Been riding the cb750 for abt 8 months now. Not the best of bikes, but sure is a superb all rounder. Use it for daily commute to work, upcoming tour and the odd trackday.

Been reading all the mods u guys been doin. MJ just fix a higher bar, but im actually considering a lower one, not streetfighter style thgh. Anyone here fix a super4 handlebar before? I know that with a lower bar, there's risk of the handlebar hitting the tank on full lock. So i think the S4 handlebar with its 2" rise would be just nice. Also am thinking of replacing my "cheerful and lively" rear shocks.

So honk when we see each other on the road...

Hi Mattel;

Your bike looks like a CB750-RC42 'L' which is the model that SSDC used to use. It's got the hydraulic clutch, bigger oil cooler and blacked out engine and exhausts typical of the type. You're using the same high bars that I am currently using. You can fit the lower bars with no issues at all, there's plenty of clearance. What you can do is fit the lower bars, but put in a 1" riser; that will allow you to rotate the bars further back without the lowest part of the bar hitting the tank.

Junk the stock 'L' shocks, they are not up to the mark; fit a set of good Progressive, Ikon or Hagon shocks. Good value for money. The stock front springs are horrible; you can get Hyperpro springs from overseas for about $100 shipped or you can order up the springs with your shocks from Hagon or Ikon.

To give you some ideas for your machine, check this article out:

Cheers;

MJ
