it really depends.... do you want keep the good will? or you decided to burn the bridge...

 

i do see people returning to the former company, so unless you are so determine to say that you will never return to the company or hopefully go into a company that your ex-boss might also go to...

 

for my, i will give my last bit till the last hour and try to leave with a positive note... as I have heard, seen, personally witness words going around...

hahaha... let me set the stage correctly, and to be fair from both sides...

 

1. Wife or GF: both should try to contribute where possible, guys will appreciate that. it shows that they are not taken for granted... for the record, my wife also pays once a while.... (although it is very easy for her to just reach out for my wallet instead). And of course, does not means that since the guy is paying, you spend like there is no tomorrow...

 

2. Husband or BF: where (financially) possible, do pay... in form of appreciation to your partner... generally, males with higher income should take the bigger share of the load (according to proportion).

 

3. Although money is a sensitive thing to talk about, but there should be understanding/discussion between couples as there is no 'one-size-fits-all' arrangement for every couples. I talk to my wife about $$$ matter since since was my gf... and she is always aware of my financial status so she knows when i am a bit tight and helps with the cutting in spending...

 

with the correct understanding, there should be not much of issue to dispute over...

usually, how much to deliver during serving of resignation notice varies and does depends on company culture and boss' expectation...

 

but general rule of thumbs is not to leave with a bad lingering taste... you will not know when it will come back on you... esp you are not at a junior position where you can just hack care...

 

more senior positions require demonstration of good sense of responsibilities and commitments...
