Does 7.6k as anchor price seem too much for this bike?

This is my reasoning for 7.6k: Residual Value of the bike: 4k (good condition, some farkles, ready to rock'nroll), COE for 7 years (currently 5.5, --> 5.5*7/10=3.85), 20% Chance the bike won't last another 7 years: 3.85*.8=3.08 => 7.1k + 0.5k (for uncertainty with the COE going even higher + some wiggle room for negotiation)

Tada!=7.6k

Any comments?

i think using current coe for calculation is absolutely right... just think, if he sell the bike he is going to pay high coe for his next bike.

and for those who wanna buy new bike, he pay high coe too.. old bike left 2-3 years, you gotto think twice too.. coz when you renew coe that time, it could cost you like 6-7k.. but of course that is a gamble.. coe may fall..

so 3k for the coe price is just right... perhaps, owner may want to justify more on the machine price alone lol....

no offense.... just my personal view

Gee, thanks for that! You wouldn't write something like this cause you want to buy it yourself and are trying to push the price down?

Ready to sell at 5k?

To answer your "question": Who would buy this? Someone who knows and appreciates this kind of bike and recognizes it as what it is - a bargain.

What is your problem bro? If you have made an offer, let the seller consider it. Its his bike, let him sell at the price he deems fit.

By constantly, bothering this sale thread, you are sounding like someone with an low EQ.

Negative comments would be gladly appreciated if they can be kept among themselves... As every seller has a price they are looking for.... Buyers whom have a price would have offer the seller and its up to him to decide if this is a close deal or not....

I believe the owner is someone whom placed a suitable valuation on the bikes his selling...

I know cos I bought a bike from him...

Nonetheless, ups for U!!!

Sorry Lawrence. You are asking the wrong person. I am not the selling this bike.

Oh one more thing, you should view the bike and discuss the price with the owner in person. That would be the polite way to do things.

Pegging used bikes to current COE is the market practice. Just take a look at the used car market. A 5 yr old car now can be sold at its original purchase price now... simply becos of the current COE. And the car Cat A COE was like below $10k back in 2009.

that reminds me how depressing it is to each time i log in sgcarmart.

even a rxk is selling at 5k.. 2B bikes affected the most .. now i would say the best bargain is class 2 bike.

Thanks for the nice comments (almost) everybody!

Really sucks that it was decided to reduce the number of motorbikes in SG - so we can have more cars and more congested roads. What's the current quota of bike COEs? 600/month? Used to be 1000-2000... and we're all paying the price (I'm just bidding for a new COE, ouch!).

Reg. the price of the bike, ultimately (as was noted earlier) it, of course, only depends on what the buyer is willing to pay. So, give me a reasonable offer (by SMS or whatsapp or PM or call me) and I'll consider it!

Cheers!

and lawrence, I sent you a PM

Bumpety bump. Maybe I should also add that the bike is not in "good as new" condition - obviously. Several rusty bolts etc. plastics are ok except for the front fender that has a small corner missing... no biggie.

Good bike for the daily commute, quite economical actually (depends on your right hand of course but 5L/100km are easily achievable).

Cheers!
