guys... issit easy to diy crashbar onto ta150? nid to do any drilling or wat??

No drilling required. Anyway, legality-wise and safety-wise, no drilling of the main frame should be done, as it will seriously undermine the structural integrity of the bike...

yup, no drilling required... but i think it would b quite a gd idea to get a mech to help u fix... cause i diy mine... it doesnt fit perfectly, have to use ur own force to bend n fit e metal bar... lucky my fren with me n he quite strong, managed to do it after quite some time. :)

wa... good thing u are fine... erm... sry for asking this noob question, but what happens when he on reserve? he slowed down dramatically or? coz i have not experienced using the reserve, n im waiting for my bike to hit reserve... must i stop one side n turn on the reserve or i can just turn the knob once i feel lost of power? i dun wan anyone hitting me frm behind :cheeky:

well.. while on the move, you feel that the bike is jerking , quickly turn to reserve on the move.. *needs practice*

if you'r new and totally nr practise before, signal left and go to the side to turn the knob.. But safetly first always k =D

aha... the art of switching to reserve on the move...

of course you would need to practise! lemme train you... in two levels... I am assuming that your bike is a TA200

level one:

look at where the reserve switch is

sit on your bike at the parking lot, hold your handlebar at your normal riding posture. use your left hand and try reach for the reserve switch without looking at your left hand. do this a few times to get a feel of where the switch is.

ride on an expressway, with no vehicles near the front and rear of your bike, use your left hand to turn the reserve switch all the way from "on" position to "reserve" position, and change back to "on" position.

once you are comfortable with changing the reserve switch on the move, you are ready for level two.

level two:

ride on an expressway at at least 80km/h, with no vehicles near the front and rear of your bike, turn the reserve switch to "off" position. in no time your engine will choke and die off, resulting in a little engine brake even when your throttle is wide open. this is the exact experience you will get when your bike hits reserve on the move.

Keep the throttle open, if not, by closing the throttle, the full engine braking would return. you need to try keep the engine braking to a low level because you need the speed and momentum to crank start the engine. turn the reserve switch to "reserve" position (with your throttle still wide open), and your engine will start by itself again (please do not press the electric start button). do not forget to turn the reserve switch back to "on" position after you are done practising or else...

Once you are familiar with the drill, congratulations, you should have no problems tackling the situation when your bike hits reserve tank.

thks guys! alright i'll go reserve training today lol... btw do i need to lower my gear once i feel the lost of power?

no... lowering you will only increase engine braking... and you don't want that!!

alright thks alot... just wondering, with ur wide handle bar and ur side box are u still able to sqeeze in between traffic?

it takes some time to get used to... its best to squeeze through stationary traffic before squeezing at high speeds on the expressway... this way you have a rough idea how wide a gap is needed for your bike to pass through...

but please... do it safely...
