im doing fine...back home already...

did the MHS loop clockwise...i guess it's impossible to complete the loop within a day...

some stretch a road are quite bad and it don't favour the RT and the RSV...so i frequently see yem having smoke break along the stretch...

if i had my strommie there will have no problem swerving through the loop....

one thing we miss was going up to doi inthanon..

the route along mae saelong was awesome...

mae sai is freezing cold at night and even in the morning...

Hi Al-Simmons, what is estimated distance for the entire MHS loop?

Hi Al-Simmons, what is estimated distance for the entire MHS loop?

estimated is plus minus 500km....

unless u'll riding hard core with less stops and very little of enjoying the scenery and taking photos.....u could complete that within a day...

I took the clockwise route from Chiang Mai -(108) Hot - Mae Sariang - MHS - (1095) Pai - (107) Fang - (1089) Mae Ai - (1130) Doi Mae Salong - Mae Chan - (110) Mae Sai.

Didn't really do the whole loop back to Chiang Mai.

the view there are great....it will be such a waste if u just ride through it...

like mentioned, there's some places that you should stopover and take a look around the town....

Pai, MHS town, Doi Inthanon, Long Neck Village..

other places that you should not miss is the route from Fang towards Mae Sai riding through the route near the border passing through Mae Salong (route 1130)

This thread should come under Thailand and beyond.. Thread starter can indicate its a fly and ride trip

Similarly have a separate Laos and beyond, Vietnam and beyond, Cambodia and beyond..etc

Have a Other country and beyond for new country ride and then create a new country and beyond thread when trips to this new country increases.

sorry to tell u that, yes its confirmed that tiger airways will stop flying to chiangmai effective march 2008..... your only other option is silkair that flies direct to chiangmai.

see ya around.... take lots of pics eh!

Hopefully, Airasia or Jetstar can take up the Chiangmai route. I guess we have a few choices.

1. Silkair as Pauche has mentioned

2. Fly budget to Bangkok and take an overnight train (departs 1800, arrives 0715) to Chiangmai

3. Ride up :D

Alternatively can take the coach up from Morchit bus terminal around 1/3 of the price mentioned with the flexibility of timing compare to train.
