just wondering when i was looking at Snell's selling price .. is that the price a 2nd hand versys is fetching for nowadays?

cos i don't have as much aftermarket as his ..what do you think is a good price if i intend to let go of my versys?

The market share for Versys in Singapore is very small. The pricing really depends on the buyer alot for Versys. When I first heard about Versys, I did some research and felt in love with it. I was hunting in the forum for six months but no one selling. The price which I purchase was on the high side but because I really like the bike so much I decided to take it. When I found one thefeeling is like hitting the Jack pot.

 

The forum thread also helps with the re-sale value of the bike. If the community participate more in the forum, people get to know the reliability and gain more confidence. If you ask anyone biker right now about Kawasaki Versys, the common reply is "Wah spare parts is a problem". Well this statement is enough to drive the price down. ( my 2 cts )

And sadly that comment has been around for years, yet when you actually talk to owners, they get parts just fine and don't complain. In SG people love to give opinions on bikes they don't own. I realised it when I got a pulsar. The number of people having something to say about the bike without owning one was ridiculous, and usually these people just repeat whatever big statement they heard from someone else ..

I think most of the Versys rider would get the parts from JB Motormatic.

Usual servicing parts like EO, oil filter and spark plug it can be done locally.

 

I had an experience ordering a radiator. SG excel said it needs 1 month plus for shipment to arrive and quoted SGD1k.

MY Motormatic needs 4 days and quoted me SGD700. Generally parts from MY and Thailand is the cheapest. You know lah SG inflation rate is 5%. 5% for fuel, 5% for shipment, 5% for labour fee and 5% for inventory. All the cost end up we have to pay for it.

i guess what O'ren wrote make sense ... i never had spare part problem but then again i don't expect the bike to show issues within the first 2 years of riding this good bike.

 

but i do change a couple of wear and tear items in JB at the Kawa dealer, the stuff are cheaper and no "spare part problem" issue ... i was told that major part in stock will be in JB in 24hrs and if the parts is very major and not in stock ..1 week from japan... i think thats kinda good.

 

anyway Loois never had problem of not having the usual consumables..like filters etc. they always got it in stock ... and at all this time i never set foot at Evershine for anything.

 

anyway i just thinking of letting go my baby as i been overseas for the past 2.5 years and maybe add another 2 more years, some might have pm me so sorry no reply as i not log in to SBF for sooo long hahaha.... if there is any Versys Group outing will love to join when i back for holiday

actually you can get all the parts (major parts) from loois ... they have good support for the bike .. but if you want faster you can go to JB before angsana and order it yourself ... i seriously cannot remember the name of the place so sorry maybe the other can help...

 

anyway it is a great bike to ride ... small light and agile.. yet having the power ... but if you want go above 190km/hr every where then may not be the bike for this style... but have no problem keeping up with the big boys and beautiful fuel consumption

The following are the common wear and tear parts:

Front, rear sprocket and chain ( can use local parts )

Brake shoes ( can use local parts )

Fork seal and dust cover

Alternator

Clutch cable

Yup the engine is real tough. In 2010, 4 Malaysian riders rode the Versys from Malaysia to London. They covered 25000km without major issue with the engine. If you go to the Motormatic at JB, you can visit the Kawasaki showroom next door and read the journals written by the group.

I am not sure about the cost of Versys 1000 but you can try another alternative which m1 motor. Please don't go to the telco and ask for Versys 1000... lolx

versys650 only Albert selling 22k otr. both colours have. i was at both shops last week.

And i bought the only yellow650 from LOOIS. still waiting coe bidding and resgistration.

Went to MAH to enquire about givi side cases...they dont have anything for versys.

Need to order and waiting time is 2months...OMG!

Looks like have to get TRAX or go malaysia buy.
