by modding a end can to make it loud , would it sound like a screaming cat?

if you mod a street legal endcan, it will become illegal..

if that's the case, why buy street legal..?

well guys i have a friend who rides a cb400 v-tec III

using a STREET LEGAL yoshimura full system BUT!

he " portted " it. not sure about the spellin so yeah..

anyways he just enlarged that thing in the pipe.

and the sound is slightly louder during idle but

when the V-tec opens...it'll scream very very loudly like a cat!

my v-tec opens meaning while riding not just simple rev-ing guys.

best part is he passed the inspection..

lol. i guess because they didn't rev the bike till RMP 7?

It's not about the power or speed or how fast your ride goes but the time & effort spent to achieve something different

My Toys:

Harley XR1200

CB400-V-tec III (served me well )

Streetfighter S ( never felt better! )

firstly, be it Titanium, Carbon Fibre, Aluminium or Stainless Steel sleeve, the performance would not be significant except for the weight of the exhaust..

What the guy from MW said is true.. New exhaust needa go thru a "run in" period for the fibre to burn up to achieve a "louder" sound..

All street legal yoshis came to SG untagged.. they are tagged locally, which means they are subjected to worksmanship error..

You have every right to reject any faulty or bad condition products before purchase..

I too, had received my Yoshi with a scratch on the sleeve, but my shop exchanged it with MW for a new set when they discovered that scratch during the installation..

Your Yoshi maybe the new batch with stricter rules on sound.. taht's why you have the extra sliencer inside to reduce the noise.. you might wanna confirm that as I rem Yoshi being a straight thru exhaust without any buffle/dB killer.. it controls the sound by using a smaller core diameter compared to other brands of exhaust..

lastly, welcome back Brandon Wong.. got sick of your italian 2 stroker and bought a S4?? :D lol @j00

any idea how to do a proper 'run in' for the exhuast? dont mind explain more?im intending to get 1 yoshi tri oval for my x1r..

there's not really any proper way..

just ride more.. like i suggested, go for long trip at high RPMs..

the fibre will burn faster.. that's all..

yes.. Yoshi actually restricts the sound not by buffle/dB killer.. but a smaller tapering diameter towards the end of the tip of the muffler..

by changing the core of the muffler, it again becomes a illegal exhaust..

althou he can pass the inspection, but if he was to be following LTA back to base..

a thorough check will be done and he will not escape..

it's really not hard to differentiate a modded st legal from a non-modded one..

biting point , need to ask u smth. can i buy the headers and connect it to my end can then it'd be like a full system on the market? if so ? will it be different if i were to buy the whole set of full system? any difference?

between a yoshi tri oval and a round carbon cone. are there any difference or is it just the outlook?

trioval only comes as a full system. so there's definitely a difference in performance.

my fren told me that motoworld sell yoshi tri-oval at $1450. is it true? cant b that cheap rite..

i think is about there..

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

MW does sell their own stainless steel headers..

a street legal system will definately benefit more than just an endcan..

and again.. buying the headers to fit to your st legal endcan will make it not legal again..

i think there's a Yoshi FS for Revo that is round??

cant confirm.. lost in S4 scene for quite some time..

not too sure.. probably there is.. but tri oval for s4 only comes in fs.. right?

tri oval = fs

fs = tri oval / round.

my tri oval header got exhaust fumes coming from the middle part (the connecting part) is it common??

Nope, it's not normal. It means your headers are leaking.

The cheapest way to solve it is to take it out and apply a generous layer of gasket seal, then fix back. Wait for about a day for it to dry before riding again.

what i ment was the part between 4-1 not the engine part.. I dont c any gasket on that part...

yes, i know.. it the 4-1 collector..

normally it'll fit just nice.. but with time and friction, there'll be some leakage..

i pressume when installing it, the mech does not put any gasket seal for you..

like i said, take them out and apply a generous layer of gasket seal..

let it sit for at least 24hrs.. it should leak that much or even leak after then..

bought mine @ 1.4 @ MW, stainless steel.

tri-oval blue (new fire spec) cost abt 1.6...

for revo, it's oval (if i m not wrong) with a carbon fibre cap on the tip of the endcan (looks something like akra fs for s4 that is...)

Anyone care to enlighten how often do you repack your muffler? Or there is no need to?
