Well it's up to you then. 4-1 headers are always better at pick up but if you yearn for top speed, 4-2-1 is the way to go. But sound wise, 4-1 of course more garang :)

wait... this is weird... 4-1 headers has better pick ups while 4-2-1 headers has top speed? hmmm... i thot it's the other way round?

Hey bros I am using a Yoshimura Titanium Blue with hodaka SS 4-1 headers and also k&n air filter. At lower rev and idle my bike will not be "smooth" and also feel sluggish. Only after a certain RPM then can feel the power. About a month ago when I first installed the end can the guy at Unique suggested that I change the jet in two of the four carb so that I will have more power. But after that still feel sluggish and idle is quite erratic, just like at first when I am using the SS headers with the Leo Vince SBK. Anyway to solve that? I am thinking the combination of the headers and k&n filters is making the fuel/air mixture at low rev too lean, but I am not very sure. Wondering if changing back to stock filters will help?

And also for the Yoshimura full system will tunning the carb be needed too?

Always remember, there will be air leaks when you change to SS headers because they are aftermarket products afterall and is bolt on. Unless, you can weld them up together with your endcan, then you can maximise the power output. Tuning is normally based on feel bro. Unless you do a dyno run on your bike. The computer will compute the results for you.

Actually I am not really looking for power, just smoothness. I tried my friend's stock version s and his acceleration is much more smooth than mine. For my spec 3 the bike will be like struggling for the first 3.5k rev before it picks up and smoothen out.

Maybe I am reading too much into it anyway. Maybe something to do with my drive chain and sprockets. But I just want to see if anyone has any opinion on this.

Bro, what you're feeling is normal when you changed from orginal 4-2-1 header to 4-1 header. You loses low to mid range power in 4-1 but you feel the diff when the power kicks in. Our bikes are researched and built stock for smooth rides so that is the reason you felt your friend's VerS is very smooth. If you change back to stock 4-2-1 headers and endcan you will see the differences. Thus the reason you struggling in low rpm. DynoJets will even out all your power range if installed and tuned properly(some says will improve on fuel too) and gives you good performance. Every bike is different some by installing a endcan will feel some differences in output, idling and power but normally compensated by the loud exhaust sound that they nvr notice the changes. When you changed to full system, you will feel the huge differences in low range but do check if there are any leakages in the joints too. Even for Yoshi full sys, if you dropped the bike in an accident the joints might be off too

I see..so the power lost at low rev is normal. So you suggest I change to DynoJets(is it a brand or something else anyway?) which will help bring back the low end power? Will it affect my FC much? Because I have very good FC right now. Also, if I change it back to the stock headers but with the yoshi end can will there be a difference? What about the k&n filter?

If only there's a way to chrome or there's a chrome version of the stock headers. I will buy that in a heartbeat. I saw in the super four bike gallery thread that bro blackness got a SS 4-2-1 headers. Wondering where I can get that? He didn't reply my pm:(

You can read more here for the Dynojet jet kits and have a more understanding

http://www.dynojet.com/jetkits/index.aspx

alot of heresay on the fc consumption part--> "Jet Kits increase power and smoothness throughout the entire rev range, while maintaining optimum fuel economy" by Dyno but some ppl will tell you fc like running water. If after dyno your bike sooo good in all the power range and you whack like mad, fc sure increase like mad.I believe if you remove 4-1 header and use the 4-2-1 header plus endcan you can feel the torque coming back or smoother at low to mid just like original exhaust but louder (smooth and more acceleration) but your high end will slightly suffer. Keep your K&n filter as it saves you $$$ in the long run. Blackness bought off from a forumer here but there are afew shops carrying the ss 4-2-1 headers. Best you wait for his replies on the performace or your enquires.

Or you could just get use to the sluggish feel and live with it (after awhile you will be used to it). Others will tell you its waste of $$$$ and Some will tell you " you not racing no need dyno" but if you happy you also can stock with dyno. Bottom line is how thick your wallet is. Cheers:)

Thanks for your informative reply bro! Now I will decide if I want to proceed with a stage 2 jetting change. From wat I understand it's just bigger jets right? Which shop is good at doing jettings and tuning?

My wallet is not very thick but I am a bit obsessed with tuning the bike to perfect balance between performance, efficiency and looks haha.

Stage2? Normally ppl go for stage1 only if I am not wrong. I also not sure. Best you ask the pros about it first. The Dyno kit comes with 3 sets of diff sizes main jet. Search around SFB on a Jet Kit thread which I also cant find now. You already out of my league. hahaha. best of luck.

Did you get you was and sync carb after getting 4-1 headers and endcan? Find your trusted mech to synco and tune the air/fuel mixture which might improve but dun expect much like instant respond.

Of course it won't be legal anymore once it's removed. Don't waste your $700 just like that. I kena once and regret. $700 may not be much to some, but to me, it's worth every cents.

Just my $0.01cents bro...
