I'll take both thank you. :cheeky:

That is indeed a helmet used as headlight. Very innovative customisation.

ok let me explain this gadget :D

First you need to know what is the standard Vboost..

Standard V-Boost

http://www.netace.com/images/vboost_internal.jpg

A unique V-Boost System gives a Turbo-like power boost to the V-MAX motor. Four downdraft carburetors feed the cylinders through individual inlet tracts. However, the tracts between cylinders one and two and cylinders three and four are separated by butterfly valves. The valves are controlled by servo motors that measure engine rpm. At approximately 6000 rpm the servos start to open the butterfly valves until they are completely open at 8000 rpm. With the butterfly valves open each cylinder on an intake stroke is fed by two carburetors, rather than a more conventional single unit. Horsepower is considerably increased especially in the mid-and high-rpm range.

Now.... some wise guys think that this is still not good enough.... So they invented these override switches to allow the valve to open at even lower RPM. Hence creating huge tire spinning torque at a flick of a switch.

There are currently 2 types of switches available. Namely:

1) Tboost ( 2 switch position of 3k and 6k)

2) Zboost (3 switch position of 0k 6k and off)

petrol consumtion is on the Very High side. but than again the Kick Feeling u get is ..............PRiceless. This is One bike a Rider should at least Ride once in their LIFetime!

SportBike may give U that Speed, but the Vmax gives the BOOST.

It almost like Drinking Beer against Alcohol, Both gives u the HIgh, but alcohol Kicks in like POW! and then your GOne :faint:

Scorpy! Long long time nvr hear from you already...Great to see you still again. How are you bro? :lovestruck:

Indeed, though i dont have the good fortune to ride one VMAX before, but it has leaves a 'fearsome' reputation in me. Eddie Lawson also did mentioned that this is the bike that gives the feels of a GP bike, though handling is not in the top notch.

Up till now there is no comparable technology in the N.A. department. Unless forced induction(Turbo/supercharge) or NOS is used.

:offtopic: It is so good to hear from you. Indeed, the petrol is BIG problem now. Esp for the VMAX's appetite when it start to boost ard. Now I have chnged my job, pay cut drastically, n life chng from good to bad n to worst. Many thing got stck, can't even meetup our beloved Maxxmadness for kopi. I still miss your with the Max ard when drinking kopi. :offtopic:

I am surprise that Yamaha has introduced the 2006 model VMAX, thought they are going to stop the current VMAX production. Great for that, many without the chance chance to get hold of this King of Drag still got some chance to get it. But not sure if Hong Leong going to bring this beast in..

Yo Maxmadness,

Me came across these:

First official photos of Yamaha V-max

http://www.raptorsandrockets.com/images/VmaxS001_edited.jpg

http://www.raptorsandrockets.com/images/VmaxS002_edited.jpg

http://www.raptorsandrockets.com/images/VmaxS003_edited.jpg

You might have thought Yamaha would settle with just launching one gorgeous special this year in the MT-0S. But no, the V-max is back! And we believe this one will hit the showrooms in just a year or two. As you can see on the photos this is a prototype and there is no seat on it to show of that beautifully sculpted tail/tank unit moulded from one piece of material. Six-pot radial mounted brake callipers and exquisite finish on the bronze coloured engine. We bet you that V4 will sound like the dogs. TS

Message from the editor: Don't worry too much about our logos. You will soon enough be able to see this bike with no clutter on it in your local rag or Yamaha official site. We are protecting them against photo shop wizards basically and that's why the logos are on the bikes. If you want to be part of our news service to use our stuff on your site there are terms. We have chosen to prevent rather than police basically. For forum users we have no problem with our images being linked up to as long as people know where the images came from. It can cause bandwidth problems, but as long as it doesn't we will leave all images without renaming them. Feel free to comment as some of you have already done. 20/10/2005 TS
