Looks like this thread is not very active. I'm quite keen to get the 350 classic but don't know if the bike is reliable or not. Hope to get some pointers from the RE community on the pros and cons of the 350 classic.

I used to ride the old carb model 350. reliable as in good FC, but engine will leak and top speed around 120km. Good bike to ride around city.

Hi,

I'm from Kerala, India and moving to Singapore very soon, I was wondering how much Royal Enfield models cost (SGD) in there ?

Here in India a new RE Classic 500 costs around 2800 SGD or 1,25000 INR

Drive responsibly :)

Ok, so you planning to move here, so the question I asked in Pulsar thread is irrelevant. BTW, you cannot buy RE 500 until 2 years. Please visit the SPF website to learn the license process. Its not like India here that you just bribe and get a license.

For you the best case is you can convert your Indian license to Singapore one, provided you have the card type and you will be allowed only for class 2b,

Seriously its a previledge that they allow Indians to convert without going through the rigorous time intensive and $$$ intensive test, considering how poor driving/riding sense average Indians have.

Back in India I've a 2000 RE Classic 500, a 2011 Bajaj Pulsar 220, and a 2012 TVS RTR 180 ABS

I was researching about Singapore and came into this forum. I've also found that I may find a hard time living in a overpriced country like SG.

So I was wondering if I can import my vehicle and drive it under International Driving License

I've no idea what you are talking about "bribe and get a license" I (most of us also) gone through 45 days of driving course (10 days in simulator and rest in real road in an authorized driving school) and after that you have to demo your driving skills in a driving test in-front of 2 or more officers and entire public (who came to take test) who are watching. Bribing in public/private is an offensive crime in India. So there was no chance or need for any bribe to get a license.

You have to come to India once and see how well we manage to drive without any problems even in a traffic chaos :p

Well salaries are also overpriced here. So provided you come here with the right salary, you wont have any hard time :)

Importing vehicle is a real pain. Google for it, its not easy. Second hand bikes are cheap. So that is an option. You can start with a Pulsar 180 you can get a 5 year old one for around 2.5k and then you see after one year how. There are other powerful 2 stroke options too, like Honda NSR SP150, which you might be interested :)

Thanks 736cc..for sharing ur experience. Think we are more interested in the current 350 classic. Unless they both having the same problem. Maybe there are very few riders who own 350C.

If I'm not wrong, 350 classic is still using carb and not EFI. Only 500 model is EFI right?

oh is it? i might be wrong but i thought new bike coming into sg must be EFI?

the 350 i rode 4-5year ago, FC is good(30km/L) but the bike cannot go fast. i remember top i went was 120km+ and when reach 100km above will start to vibrate.. IF u want more smooth ride, then i feel is better to get japanese bike like super 4.

Went online to research but saw a mixed review on this bike. Two extreme ends....haiz. Jap bikes are definitely better as opposed to 'Made in India' bikes. Price is a lot of difference. I guess is "you pay peanuts, you get monkeys". I don't ride fast so 120km/h should be good enough, so long bike doesn't always break down can already. No point bike is cheap but cost a lot in maintenance :)
