pulsar! highly recommended

Yah...I considering the 200cc version, is it worth to wait or 180 is good enough?

The problem is not you can afford it or not, is how are you going to make yourself able to afford it.

My ride 80% are expressway, since 180 is air cool one, it wont be any heat problem for me right? Heard that it very easy to get EO leaking problem.... My usage about 50KM per day...

sorry, i'm not sure about x1 but i think need 2t right? then tank capcity also not big. If keep need to go pump petrol also troublesome. Btw u getting 2nd hand? if 2nd hand i think it kind of hard to find pulsar but easy for x1. x1 also will be much more cheaper then pulsar

If you main concern is fuel economy and low maintenance; I think the Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTSi is perfect. The bike is know for being a No Maintenance machine which just keeps going on till it has fuel. I personally own a pulsar and enjoy the ride. A full tank in the Pulsar takes in 18 litres (same as CB400 super four) and can take you 650 kms at a stretch. Think of it, you can almost ride to KL and back in one tank. I think its great styling too compared to the other options available in Class 2B.

Listing down some tech specs for your reference:

Engine: 178.6cc, 4 Stroke, Single Cylinder, Air Cooled

Power: 16.5 BHP @ 8000rpm

Gear Box: 5 Speed

Ignition: CDI

Front Brakes: Disc

Rear Brakes: 130mm Drum

Front Tyre: 2.75 X 17

Rear Tyre: 100/90 X 17

Wheelbase: 1330mm

Ground Clearance: 165mm

Dry Weight: 140 Kg

Tank Capacity: 18 Litres

Wheels: Alloy Mag wheels

Mileage on Full Tank: Approx 650 kms in Singapore city riding

I just upgraded my licence to a Class 2A and planning to get a bigger bike. My 2006 Model Pulsar is on sale if you are interested in having a look/test ride. Feel free to contact me on 9628 2476 if you would like to view.

Happy Motorcycling

how about a TA200 phantom? there're lots of decent 2nd hand ones around at reasonable prices in this forum. if you're planning to upgrade to 2A soon, then no point buying new bikes coz you will "liow ka siow" (loose a lot in resale). this is one bike that can hold its value quite well and if you buy cheap, sell cheap also won't loose too much

another good thing is, there's this Phantom Knights bike community where you can get lots of support and also meet up for convoy cruising. cheap clean fun and we do it safely :thumb:

cheers

may all be well and happy

phantom is a good choice, it is big and stable and fuel economic. looks nice also, my fuel comsumption is abt 38~39km/L. But of cos if u r lookin for speed, this bike is not for u, it is ideal only for spore road,

u-turn is more difficult, if not careful will skid on wet roads

the phantom is quite different from those bikes used at driving centres. you'll need some adjustments such as lower sitting position, chopper riding posture with legs in front instead of below like a street bike, longer wheel base that needs slower cornering & u-turns and bigger turning circle, etc.

basically, it is a bike designed for riding comfort rather than speed and GP like cornering. i've seen many bigger cruisers (steed, shadow, intruder, dragstar, etc) buang when they take the corners too speedily coz such bikes are just not designed for that... i also buang before on my intruder 400 :p i don't complain about it being "fatter" and not as nimble when squeezing through busy traffic coz i don't do that unless traffic is really slow. its too dangerous to speed pass in between the wreckless drivers in stinkarpoh.

if you like speed and attacking corners, then phantom is not suitable for you. but if you like to sit comfortably while riding, and maybe a box for carrying all your ali-baba stuffs, then this is one good 2B bike for you. phantom with box looks much better than road bike with box

if you like safety, ride safely... any bike is dangerous when you ride wrecklessly

may all be well and happy

it really depends on your preference, whether you want a utility bike, nice looking bike, or..... based on your 2 concerns, go for pulsar or phantom.

i agree Santiago, i am personally riding a phantom ta200

low fuel consumption and low maintenance certainly fits the bill! :)

Work to ride and ride to work :dot:

Bro, why not try CBR 150 RR. FC consumption about 35-44 km/l. Maintenance also very low. No need 2T. Just change EO regularly. Moreover, bike has enough power to give you thrills once in a while. Suitable for commuting and gila gila riding once in a while.

To have a normal life, you work for what you need.
