Speaking of panniers... Does it feel weird to have side boxes for Hawks? Gonna get it from Biposto soon... But is it still possible to squeeze through? =P

Personally, i do like panniers, though you hv to be mindful of em when riding, particularly when "squeezing".

I think Biposto's one is quite slim, shld not b a prob.

Mind is more wider, n most of the time, i fix only the left side pannier.

so u roder the Silverwing bfor? how's the experience? y did u let it go?

Because of him the lame walked briskly,

And the songless through him burst into melody.

wah....expensive upgrade.

Super Ex, but purely cosmetic, I love my Hawk. Very sentimental about it.

She brought me out of my 5 years in the wilderness of public transport and cycling around.

So got to treat her right.

Appreciate your enthusiasm,

When I look at bikes like the TW200s, no performance or looks on the stock bike but there are many customised beyond recognition especially in Japan where the trend started, why not our Hawks?

The stock bike has reasonable looks and its one of the best fuel efficient bikes around. Its a good base for customisation.

Long live the Hawks.

Ohh... So you're not using E21 aye? Must be more difficult then...

Hmm... As for my Silverwing, sad story... I had an accident when trying to "siam" a taxi which cut into my lane... After that, quite a while cannot ride...

Then after considering the monthly payment, petrol consumption and so on, I decide to downgrade at a loss... :sian:

So Ah Swee intro me to Hawk, slim, low FC, lower cost in insurance, road tax and installment lor...

Now I've fallen in love with this China babe already! Hahahaha~

Echo that... And how much will it cost? Or probably do a respray for the fairing... Say to yellow color? =P

dude, all I cab say is that the sky's the limit. I have resprayed my bike twice in 6 month.

1st cost me $400 (didn't like the colour, painter used wrong colour))

2nd cost me $300 (discount due to 1st error)

Stickers are all customised, costs abt $300, cos I keep changing them. The latest change cos me $65 all done at Juzz Wheelz.

For those riding a new bikce I suggest placing a protective film on your speedo window to prevent scratches. cost abt $12 to $15 same as Hp protectors.

Biggest cost so far was the Leo Vince full exhaust system inclusive of inspection at $950.

To date, I have spent almost $3500 for changes and customization.

For those riding new bikes, don't be in a hurry to customise, get the basics done.

1. Change tires (Bridgestone, Michellin others I have no confidence)

2. Change chain to better quality before they settle in with the sprockets

3. Change front brake pads to EBCs if you can get hold of them

4. Change your Engine oil as often as possible every 1000km cos being a air cooled bike, the oil levels do go down.

5. If you have some spare cash, replace the fork oil to a better grade.

Don't be too concerned abt being called an "ah pek" bike rider, at the end of the day you spend less on fuel and spare parts as the ORIGINAL parts for this bike is damn cheap.

Hi, newbie here. Thinking of getting this bike for transport purpose. Currently riding pulsar and hating it cos the engine is just hopeless. How is this bike for long term usage? Any major problems? I am of the bigger size.. so is the suspension hard enough? Appreciate ur replies. thanks.

If you're riding a bike but not calculating the 50 possibilities in the 50 meters of road ahead of you, then you're dangerous and shouldnt be on one.

I'm of quite a big size too... I think CBF is not much of a performance bike... But you can count on its fuel efficiency... =) It can travel at 75 to 80 km/h on expressways (I dun really throttle much as I am not into speeding...)

So my opinion is that, its an economical bike from pt A to pt B... :cheeky:

Ok.. alot of good reviews in here. I will go get 1 then. Price range now any idea?? Don wanna kenna chop out there. The coe is up now also.. haiz..

Anyway, Biposto, where can you get the speedo protective film and which wkshops have spares for this bike which are readily available?

Has anyone here manage to find a better solution to the suspension problem? Too soft I guess. Harder grade oil for the front.. besides that any better springs? Any aftermarket rear shocks?

Change Chain- cos the stock even with regular chain lube tends to be dehydrated of lubricant

EBC- is a brand of brake pads, good pads, there are higher grades, of course at higher price.

the stuffs I mentioned are just options that you should consider before customising, you can always omit them cos there are many who disregard them are still riding.

Yes, I got my bike from them also.

Front Fork suggest a 20wt fork oil, I know someone at unique motors that did my fork and its very firm. If interested let me know, cos its a trade secret that the mechanic doesn't want to reveal. So I got to introduce him to you before he will do it.

Rear shocks has yet to find something, if you have suggestions let me know.
