i tink that yishun dam would be nice. jus changed to city demon front and back at $110.

good price.

That's a gd price. I spent twice the amount for bridgestone BT45 front BT39 rear.

Due to bigger & heavy tire, my pick-up become slower than car :-)

Engine sound become rough aft ride.

last friday, 25/6 @ BKE after visiting Bike Production my speedometer failed to function. mileage was only 165km. brought up to boonsiew on saturday to repair but was inform by the staff that appt was full and he made arrangement to come on monday. now bike running ok but forget to ask them what was the problem. my own assumption that the cable burst. anyway it FREE service since warranty still valid. milage now only 202km + 50km unrecorded.

Engine rough, could it be the Maxima Extra 4 that you've filled in? I bought a can for S$21 for my next 5,500 km oil change too.

wah bros...

Today almost got involve in a accident...

was at the junction.. doing a right turn.. Before i procceed, arrow turned amber. So i did a rather hard break after the stop line... Din dare to go cuz there was a CAM there. Im just a poor P-plater with only 12points to deduct... Of cuz i dun dare beat it...

So there was this bus behind me, who expected me to beat the light, had to do an E-break in order not to hit me... Obviously he wanted to beat the lights too... that explains his speed and distance away from me...

Hmmmm... Any idea what could have been done to prevent this kinda thing from occuring again bros?

Lol, honestly, i Hum tio...

After that, he horned me like crazy and started shouting in his bus i guess, but i could't hear anything...

Sighs! ha, the best advice is to Pray hard? haha.

Take care bros, ride safe.

wah bro, we got our bike the same time, your milage only less than 300km? Ha, nice... mine is over 800 liao... :cheeky:

I better ride less to save more.. Lol.

Any idea which Petro gives the best fuel consumption? or which will give you the best power?...

I heard Esso 98 has the best millage, and Shell V power has the best power...

Hi I wanted to respond to your queries earlier but I was waiting for more experience rider to reply.

Anyway, my takes are, if you leave the valve pointed to reserve (RES) you risk running the reserve empty before you realise it. While if you turn the valve to ON, this will lock-in the reserve so when the normal gas do run out, you turn to RES and proceed to the nearest kiosk.

After top-up turn it to ON is also what I do.

I run-in to about 500 km. I'll follow the owner's manual everytime if you ask me. The run-in process is not exact science, some peeps based on experience and/or hearsay. However, one of my colleague that has riden for many years, run-in his bike to 3,000 km, ramp up his throttle gradually everytime and speed not more than 80 km/h. Too finickee for a YBR 125 I think.

Thanks for ur imput bro...

I went strictly below 70km/hr when my mileage is below 500km. only occational blow when overtaking.

Now my milage is more then 800km, and i decided to go max occationally 80km/hr..

Probably will whack only after 1000km i guess... cuz i think my engine still rather new... been running less then 1 month.. compared to the 1 year its been manufactured for..

I'm no expert but just wanna share with my fellow CBF150 P-platers,

  • I slow down when I'm approaching junction and anticipate that the traffic light is going to change against me. Most likely you did slowed down, but maybe not adequately.
  • I'll say if your front wheel is about (give take 1m) to touch the painted directional arrow (the arrow closest to the stop line) on the road surface, you should proceed when the traffic light turned amber and not jam brake.
  • The bus driver should be more alert in your situation too. You did put up the P-plates right? :)

Baptism by fire for us p-platers?

This is my take.

I still use my stock tyres, riding my cbf for a year plus already.

At 70km/h approaching a junction, if going straight. I'll take 2 arrows before the traffic light. If before the 2 arrows, it turn amber, i'll stop. If I pass the 2nd arrow and it turns amber, I'll go. Trust me, it's safe. So you gauge yourself if you're travelling below of above 70km/h. Anyway, trunk roads' speed limits are 70km/h.

If turning right, like in your case.. I'll take 1 arrow. If before the arrow it turns amber, I'll stop. If after the arrow, I'll go. I will only turn at 30km/h. So after the first arrow, it's quite safe.

guys, i managed to pump in 12.48ltr into my tank. mileage is 529.6km. still manage to get abv 40km/l. hehe...

Woah that's almost touching the possible max of 13L. Incredible. I always wanted to ride to the last drip but I've no balls for this. I fear that I'll stuck on the road like a fish out of water. The max I've pumped so far is close to 10L pnly.

You're very generous on the eo. You use expensive eo for the early change intervals. I kept to the recommended (by bike mags and self taught mechs) mineral 20w-50 for the 500, 1,000, 2,000 and 3,000 km. For me, I'll only use dearer eo later, 5th eo change onwards. Pls update me if you get even a faint hint that your Maxima Extra 4 15w-50 is suckifiying your engine in anyway.

My CBF is my china 'wife' so must pamper her with gd EO & Tires, in return she can serve with well. Hee... Heee...

I changed 3 EO non-semi syn till 2000km before switching to maxima. Now waiting for 4k oil change.

Hi y'all, I think rust will sets in very soon on my ride. My colleague owning a FBC plate CBF150 is rusty in a few places. One piece I saw rust on her ride is around the the end of the swingarm, its near the chain tightening and lock nuts.

I'm thinking of greasing. Scare to touch gease as gease has cancer causing substances. But then again, the best way to apply grease, cream, etc is to do it on bare hands (tip of fingers).

Hi prolink, you work for ProLink? Is it the modem maker or the TV-Tuner maker? Your avatar is Beastie the BSD daemon. So you into FreeBSD?
