Roughly how much to change it?Hmmm.cause I hear some say need pc to make the idling cause need to tune it.as I'm using fs

PC is a must if u r running FS. u will be running to lean n damage ur engine in long term.

dirty air filter, throttle body also can make idle not smooth. magnetic coil, rectifier n batt also can contribute

Theoretically, bazaaz controls all 8 injectors whereas pc only controls 4. I think there's an additional module for the pc to allow it to be able to control all 8 injectors. In the real world, its pretty much the same as you won't really get to feel the difference.

Changes in the mappings for bazaaz are in 500rpm increment whereas for the pc its 250rpm increment.

For the bazaaz there's the QS and TC to compliment it.

End of the day its just personal preference. I've never used the pc before so I can't comment much. Will still use the bazaaz cause of the tc and qs. If bro blueblood can hook you up with a good deal, then you pretty much have your ans :)

hi guys. after parking my bike for an hour, i turned the bike on, needle went left to right as per norm. but when i clicked the electric start button, there is only a very faint 'tak' sound. engine doesnt crank at all. tried a few times but still couldnt start. then i tried clutching in, kicking down to gear 1 then it finally started. any idea what the prob could be?

Urs is which model..?

If urs is 06 and above might be 3 scenario. 1 starter rellay,2 starter carbon. 3 starter unit..

hey guys i need some urgent help. i bike makes a ticking sound during idle. above 4,000rpm the 'tick' sound becomes more apparent and faster. went to 3 different shops, 1 said i need a top overhaul because my conrod and shims are making the sound, 1 said i needed a top service because the sound comes from the cam chain and the tensioner and the last shop said it's perfectly normal i dont need to do anything about it! Im quite bothered about it, i really need some advise, thanks.

Hey bro, I got a after market bolt to temporary stop the leaking. but the engine sound and exhaust seem different from before. Please advice is it really becos of this small plug that causes all this. what is the real purpose of the plug????

If im not wrong, its a called an oil gallery bolt.

Usually crack due to wear & tear as its made frm aluminium.

Faced the same prob afew mnths back without warning haha

Went hlc at autobay to get it replaced

my mileage is 16,000 km for a 2009 model. the mechanic said its likely the previous owner changed the meter because the mileage seems too low for a 4yr old bike. but the previous owner genuinely did not ride often, while the first owner is an expat, so it IS possible that the mileage is that low though i cannot be 100% sure. cannot be he changed the meter just to lower the mileage right? the bike doesnt seem to have been through an accident before.

so is it fine if i leave the bike as it is or do i have to do something about it? thanks alot blueblood.

if its cam chain, u can take out e cam chain tensioner n check it is fully extended out. if it is, u better get it change, a broken cam chain will be hell.

if u dun feel any lack of power, no unusual feeling n jus a ticking sound then jus leave it lor. if its a track bike then better do a gd service to e engine

My bike has the same ticking noise on startup and ard 4k rpm. I researched on it, apparently it's common among high performance yamaha engines (mainly R1 and R6) some riders reported the ticking sound on brand new bikes.

Unless the ticking sound is accompanied by some telltale signs (erratic idling etc) I wouldn't be worried about it.

oh i see. may i ask how do i take out the cam chain tensioner to check? do i DIY or must i send my bike to the workshop to get it checked? is it a tedious or pricey process? sorry to ask so many questions thanks.

yeah i did some research and got the same findings as you. but i went to a workshop just to play it safe and the mechanic told me my con rod is spoilt so i dont know exactly how true it is. repairs is estimated by him to be 1k+

I highly doubt it's conrod problem. You will know if there is something wrong with the rods. (Noise will be knocking instead of ticking, power loss etc) My guess is the cam chain tensioner, stock ones are automatic. If the ticking really annoys you maybe get a manual CCT. Or maybe it's time to check your valve clearance.

Hmm im not sure, maybe u lost a fair bit of engine oil when the bolt came loose? better check your engine oil level bro..

& frm what i know, its to test your oil pressure..
