airfilter? rx-k has air-box.i dont think so its air filter.. or u referring to the foam filter inside the air box? if that's the thg u referring to, then its fine.. no worries.. i've had 2 rx-k and both has no foam filter and both have holes on their air-box for better air flow and there's no problem.. so its not an issue

As mentioned, right now i do not have the money for the meter set, i know those ar quite xpensive (the one i want is from the current "Catalyzer" RXZ with one black and one white dial). I can't afford it now, honest, and i would not want you or anyone get it for me and then have to wait for the money.

 

As to the situation in Bangkok, i don't know what's being shown on the news..... apart from the center of Bangkok there is little effect, we have currently a state of emergency here which at any time can be elevated to martial law, the army is positioned in Silom (with live ammunition and barbed wire everywhere, the whole area looks like the front line in a war) and the on-going mass protest is in Rajprasong (if you plan on shopping downtown, you can forget it - all the major malls there are closed since like two weeks and will likely remain closed for some time to come).

 

Sadly we can expect a second crackdown any time soon, the first attempt "yielded" 24 dead and 850 injured and NO end to the protest.

 

However as long as you manage to stay away from the center (Rajprasong, Silom, Pratunam) you will not see anything about the situation.

u can search for this users on ebay. biskenso2007 bkk_classicbike and motorclassicshop. alot of vintage parts. theres this user who's based in spore and sell abit of old parts also.. but he dont meet ppl only send stuff through singpost. oldpartsshop.. u can try searching for their ebay store and see wat they have. but some things quite costly plus shipping might as well go there and buy yourself if u getting alot of stuff..

There is no such thing as an 'idle rpm'. You simply have to feel yr bike when u ride. If u think u r riding too hard, release the throttle a bit until u feel the 'sweet spot'. This feeling is when the rider n the bike feel calm. Its like sex or foreplay.

ok thanks for the tip. my meaning of "idle rpm" refers to the rpm when the motor is switched on and running without the throttle on. mines pretty eccentric, sometimes its at 1.5 and after riding for awhile it gets up to 2.1 ~ 2.5 (when waiting at traffic lights for instance). is it normal? wasn't like that till i went to wash my carb yesterday. I went to turn the little knob with a spring to set it back to 1.5 and all is well till i start it the next day or few hours later. the engine will just not idle and die off.

Number lies bro, u simple have to close yr eye n feel. Anyway, not all rpm meters r accurate. Washing the carb simply wun do. After washing n assembling the carb, its the mech's duty re-tune yr carb timing. There is the air-intake screw hidden somewhere at the carb itself which control the flow of air n petrol. The noob wif the spring thingy just adjust the carb slide only.

 

Pls ask yr mech about tis.
