hi guys. i was going home from Harbourfront. it was about 7p.m. my bike does not have a IU unit. i took it off bacause it was faulty. on the CTE there is this ERP gantry that operates from 6-8 P.M. i stay around Ang Mo Kio. so my initiall plan was to exit at Upper Serangoon so that i can avoid the gantry. but i missed it. so what i did was i parked my bike on the shoulder and climbed over the drain and took shelter at the nearby block. at about 7:59PM i was walking back to my bike when the TP stopped behind my bike and took down my plate number. at that point of time, i have not reach my bike yet. the TP didnt see me. i received a letter yst from LTA stating that i was waiting at the e'way. the fine is $130 with 4 Demerit points. i didnt mean to wait at the e'way. i wanted to exit at U.Serangoon but i missed it.

 

can any of u guys help me out and tell me what i can write for the appeal.

you can appeal but with strong point ..... i dun seriously see how you can win this case.

overhauling a bike can have different pricing.

 

one can be cheaper and the other can b a little ex

 

why ? coz one is using full original parts why the other is using local parts.

 

So pls be carefull in choosing a shop. Shops can charge any price and claim they use original but do u trust that shop ?

i use 1 only but u must have switch else it might drain out the battery fast..

ermm.. habourfront area.. if u want u can come down and let me see ur IU.. like i said.. not all IU have the exact same problem..

 

u need to buy a connector for the 9V battery, think it will cost about say $1? or less..

 

but for my case two component are faulty.. its because the diode was burnt.. the transistor was because of a dry joint..

 

but i lazy to go go re-solder and source for parts in sim lim tower...

 

and the value of the diode cannot be seen cos of the burn. so need to buy a range of diodes to test.. starting frm large to small.. unless u have schematic diagram which states the exact value. else it a very long job..

 

you can try using a 12V battery to test as well.. but dun forget to power it up first.. den insert the cash card.. else if u just power it up.. there will be nothing shown

Did you actually dismantle the IU Gabriel?? You got the three edged screw driver?? I couldn't find out what was wrong cos don't have the screw driver...

 

Anyway I didn't bring during the meetup cos my uncle took my IU to another motorshop to try repair, and left it there! Heck, in the end the motorshop also never touch, now still there my uncle never go collect cos raining...

yup its not a battery.

i thought it was a battery as well.. but nah its not.. and they glue the screw-able piece to it so yeah i broke the thing at the side

yeah dip in electronics. haha basic basic one i know lah.. those more cheem i also forget already.. so hows ur IU? got back from the shop already? go check your bike.. 130km per tank is really damm low and expensive on the long run

Yeah I got my IU back already - have to go source for the special screw driver liao...

 

I just finished another tank yesterday, the odo showed 150km. Improvement sia~ I'm thinking maybe really got somewhere leaking, just like the rest said... cos I seldom ride, most of the time covered. So never notice...

 

You guys can get at least 200km right?
