hi, need ur advice here. my bike die on me 3 times alr within this week. i really dunno what had happen.

at first, the first it die on me is last week. i park under the rain for 2 days. so when i start the bike, able to start. but when i engage gear 1 and move off( open throttle) the bike die.

so went to a bike shop to service it. told them that might be my carb got water inside cause of the rain. so they wash carb and really found water inside. after fixing, i rode to petrol station. and the next thing i know is, the bike cant move again. same prob. when throttle the bike want to stall engine.

so put my bike back to bike shop, when i went back to collect it, i test ride and everything is fine actually. they told me they drained the whole oil tank and to make it dry. so i ride the bike for the whole night, no prob at all. the next day( which is ytd), i start my bike, everything is fine. but when i move off. same prob occur. now i just leave my bike at tampines. anyway, i nvr kena any rain water after they drained the oil tank.

so dude out there, wat seems to be the prob man?? thanks alot for help :D

maybe its time for you to change your fuel tank cover as due to wear & tear of the cover rubber that caused the rain water get into the tank.. buy original because local one the rubber quality is bad & the cover also won't tahan long easily rust. :goodluck: :thumb:

another thing about your bike problems can due to many reasons.. rain water goes into the fuel tank and then enter the carb, bad spark plug, bad plug coil (ignition coil) under the fuel tank, poor compression due to piston & worst to worst.. the 'PULSAR COIL' that tells your bike when to make a spark at the spark plug. its located at the stator inside the rotor beneath the left crankcase of the bike. its better for you to tell the mechanic the problem you're facing when you ride the bike on the road. ask him to check fully your bike. :sorry::goodluck:

thanks for the reply.

ya i going to motor shop later i guess. my bike alr toll near the motor shop alr. think should be going planet motor and see how it goes.

and btw, where can i get the original tank cap? waterloo street jalan besar plaza tt shop? if i am not wrong tt shop sell original yamaha stuff right??

and also, just asking, rxs can change to cg oil tank huh?? thanks :D

Heylo,

hmm dunno if CG tank can fit into one, but surely theres endless possibilty, mod here and there, hey might as well put rxk tank, hehe, maybe it will hold more gas.

my cg can hold about 6 litres, which is not much, i dunno about RXS tank tho.

but if u want base it on how it will look like later, well thats another matter. heh

why drink and drive when you can smoke and fly..

actually my previous thinking was to put a rxk tank but other forumer said it cant be done. so i was thinking about the cg one. hmm. maybe next time then see how la. going to broke soon.

anyway, just now when i go take my bike and push to bike shop for repair, my bike was running perfectly fine. not any single prob. i told the mech all the prob i face, and he just tell me if next time encounter this prob, open choke and ride for awhile.

so just now he check my bike, and said really got no prob. he tuned the carb for me again and tt;s all. just now have been riding and it's perfectly fine. so, maybe just ride for a moment and see how again.

what u all think??

Hi Guys,

Anyone here can give some direction as where to get spare parts for the bike?

Which motor-tiam are recommended for repairs?

Hahahahaaa....... My nick is a small remembrance of a fellow rider and friend, a small reminder that uncle or kelly has been trying to enforce or at least remind riders all this while. ( that is to ride safe or at least with some common sense)

getting to the main point and not getting :offtopic: ........ Rxk or i would say most bikes thats of this age....... will have this common problem ~ due to the fact that its been transferred countless times = done by many different mechanics = different style of trouble shooting electricals( most headache part of most bikes + earn least $$$ in proprotion to time spent).

Most mechanics would simply create a jumper wire here and there, just to simplify their work. And most of the time, these jumpers are not well done or just done in a jiffy.... hence over time (20+yrs), these jumpers are abandon, reused, renewed ....etc.. and from there it can create short circuits or maybe extra loading for the magneto coil ... rectifier... bulbs... plugs...etc, which will in turn be damage in the long run.... therefore, the best way is like ryan said ..... strip and over haul ur elects.....

just my $o.oooooo2 cents worth of opinion.

haha.. ok but who is uncle & kelly?

scary name, u strip & overhaul yourself is it? or u got any good mechanic to recomend?

blah blah blah...

thanks...

but mine is like... super rundown...

Super sad was when i just got it yesterday and on my way home from AMK to Clementi...

The speedometer needle broke... then follow by the RPM meter needle...

Super low moral...

Then i suddenly got the urge to make the bike nice nice but then i dunno what would be the rough estimate cost involve.

Totally new and hope u guys could like guide me as where to get the parts or rather which shop does it all?

hey layland. i think gad experienced the problem u faced. i can start my engine and all also but when engage into 1st gear and when want to move off, the bike dies. i went to the bike shop and left it there. when i went to collect, the uncle said it was some coil that he replaced. i think its silver in colour. just tot of lettin u know. ride safely everyoe.

hy when is the next meet up man. so long already.

i recently have this problem, my bike cannot go above 80kmph or 70 kmph in 5th gear. only rarely it goes to 100kmph but after a while it will go back down. even if i open full throttle it will stay at 70 or 80.

my fren told me that it might be my exhaust too much carbon & and that your bike might decrease in the max speed over time.

i thinking of decarbonizing my pipe.

ani of u guys experience 2 much carbon in exhaust?

or decarbonizing ur exhaust before?

ani suggestions or solutions would be appreciated

The bike shops i strongly recommend to sent for repairs is at Hamilton Rd(off Lavender Rd before S'pore Casket) n Joon Seng Motor Trading at Yew Tee Industrial Estate(Woodlands Rd). Joon Seng opens from 8 am to 7.30pm.

To get accessories for modding, head to Jln Besar. The shop before 219 next to the POSB atm machine. Price is negotiable for certain stuffs.

then its time already for you to change the piston head and piston ring and rebore your cylinder. :goodluck: :thumb:

its a common problem for 2 stroke bike especially RX-K to face this kind of situation due to wear & tear & also if poor maintenance on the bike.
