wheres the cheapest to get ebc HH brake pads? u know? im thinking of using those brake pads for frt. unless u haf any other recommendation?

Sorry buddy..can't help with this. Been riding for 30+ years and has been using normal standard brake pad (as long as they have the metal flake type) till date and has been good enough in stopping for me on Singapore and West Malaysia toad..and errrr..I don't ride at 90km/hr daily. Its the art of braking that is more important to me. Those expansive brake pads are good for there purpose and proven on the track...but I'm on the road.

Becareful though, pads may be good but your brake disc platter may not be 'compatible'...again to each his own preference lah.

some one from the forum is helping me service the brakes

Great :)

Can lah if you can afford it every time you change wheel...otherwise wait till your wheel ride feel 'snakey'. If you have main stand..raise the front wheel..grab the rim/tyre and shake it left ride...should be rigid and no movement.

Seat between version are all different...better tell them the model you have. Can try Ever Success at Lemput (sp?) near Desker road but do bargain..their price is high. May be try Chong Aik as they are just near by. I always get quote and go to LAB to get from them..at least he shave $5 to $20 off depending on items :)

Hi wanna to ask this stupid qn,

Turning off bike using the key better or the cut off switch?

:cheeky:

For me i use key coz after switching off using cut-off switch, one would still have to turn the key to 'off' or 'lock' to remove it so might as well use the key to off engine to save the one extra step.

There is no which one better lah..its all the same. If there is a theory that prove one is better method than the other..certainly would like to learn.

Basically the "Off" or "Kill Switch" is for emergency or "quick access" to cut of engine when there is a need too..example like petrol is spilling, key inaccessable for cutting off engine or throttle in open position and jammed in an accident fall..that's how I understand it.

one of my mech told me to use key to switch off, using "kill-switch" is something like engage gear and let the bike stall to off, not good in long run.

i hope someone explain in technical detail..

btw, how much for clutch plate. i find it difficult to kick to neutral from gear-1.

bros, my vtec1 installed with breather at the EO cap there except there is no EO cap given to me by the previous owner. The pipe is cracked and torn. I went to the neighbourhood shop to buy a replacement pipe, duno whether the replacement pipe will melt? pls advise me guys.

I'm using the same setup..not sure what you got but next time..go to car auto spare part shop and get the car fuel hose heat resistant type..I think a meter is about $6.50 or more depending on diameter.

Not sure where he gradulated from to tell you such thing..errrr..hee...x2!..but neither am I a graudlate in this...all I can say is that it does not make sense..this is all about 'electrical' shutting down or rather cutting off ignition..either way, the plug cease to fire and has nothing to do with "gears"..be it using key off or kill switch off.

one of my mech told me

I believe you got a few others to ask..do ask them and let us see what each individual has to say leh..very_the_interesting.

[Q]i just changed spark plug and found there is engine oil stain on the old spark plugs tip.i have use them for around 15,000km.

is there anything wrong?? why is there E.O ???

thank ah pek and timberland for answering my qn

I also think as ah pek but i both also got use, randomly

Thinking the "kill switch" is a switch so if too long nvr use scare inner part may jam or wat bah. my 0.02 cents:cheeky:

I was wondering if the venerable Ah Pek or any forumers with a similar problem as me can advice.

I have a 7-month old S4Vtec 3 (bought new), but with only 2,600 km mileage clocked. Since the first day, whenever I wash my bike, the front brake pads (right side) will seize on the rotor after parking it overnight. This happens if I don't use the bike immediately after washing it but left it parked overnight.

I suspect that the cause could be due to the water contacting the brake pads during the wash and causing them to expand, but why only (and always) happen to the right side calipers? Whenever it seizes, I'll have to give a slightly harder push to release it and there will be a "knock" sound as expected.

I had inquired to the mechanic at Looi's Motor (which I had bought from), but they told me that the brake system is not seasoned yet, since it's still less than 5,000 km, but I don't really buy this reasoning.

Also, sometimes after applying heavy braking, there will be some scouring (rubbing) noise from the right side front brake calipers. The noise will only go away if I continue to apply continuous light braking operation several times intermittently. I suspect it to be the floating rotor's problem. I understand the front brakes are floating rotor type, whilst the rear brake is floating calipers type. Any good advice is appreciated.

Yours shld be an agent bike rite? Why not bring back to Boon Siew to see if the calipers is under the warranty. New bikes have one year warranty.
