One word, "SWAY!".

Go temple pray pray a bit, ask for the bad luck to go away....

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

this happen to me many years back.. still very green

at that time i was riding a vespa, it broke down along commonwealth ave opposite Buona Vista MRT. At that time was quite broke, student mah, so i decided to slowly push my bike back to place in west coast. Quite tiring as there were a hills to push up esp along SP..

After one such uphill push at the west coast flyover, i was really tired. So i sat on my broken down bike and coast downhill in neutral without wearing my helmet.

Suay suay, 1 ROV was behind me. Staff Sergeant rank summore. He asked me why was i not wearing my helmet and riding my bike. So i told him my sad story. He said it was an offence to ride/sit on a moving bike without a helmet even if it's a broken down bike. I showed him my shagged pitiful face..

I think he pitied me, he let me go with a stern warning. Asked me why i never call tow truck. I said, " I student, now a bit broke.. So i rather push my bike then leave it by the side of the road. Furthermore, my house not too far from where my bike broke" After that he left.

Imagine if i kena booked for not wearing helmet that day.. It will be damn suay man.. bike broken down then kena saman for not wearing helmet..

So i think pushing a bike without helmet is alright as long as u do not sit on it.

After reading ur post, i think your mistake was u sat on your bike, started it, probably put to 1st gear and began to move it using the bike's engine power. That can be interpreted as riding without helmet even if it's slow.
