Don't waste money on Iridium plugs on Wave la. Use NGK G-Power (platinum) can already. Better acceleration than the normal plugs..... and cheaper than iridium some more.....

Hi RxzDelux,

how much would a NGK G-power(platinum) plug cost at Ah boy?

How much $$$ is dat Delphi Fully Synthetic?

Yes fully synthetics can be mixed with mineral end up u get a semi synthetic Engine Oil but Not WORTH the money because u buy fully synthetic so expensive already. Might as well u buy semi synthetic straight from shop. It's much much cheaper than blending your own.

Fully synthetic + mineral = semi synthetic

i can't remember the price coz i throw away the receipt liao..

anyway, my wave failed on me yesterday...

engine die on the road... check petrol... got leh but last bar blinking since AMK to jurong to wdl n to jurong... tot no petrol so go push to nearnest petrol station n pump... start again oso cannot... check engine oil... see below the minumin... tink going to spend money n replace piston... ask my papa come down... clean spark plug... top up my remaining 200ml delphi engine oil which i last had my oil change at sanfu... bike work again... :cheer:

my papa now using mineral based engine oil but my delphi engine oil is full synthetic... duno whether can mix or not... maybe i go ask in da bike byte section...

heng ar... no need spend money...

dont think mineral and full synthetic oil can really mix well

why dont ask yr dad to help u buy leh? then u change the oil yrself lorz....

anyway....is this really a case of piston seize?

cause if piston seize liao the rear wheel should jam at least abit right??

and since the only way to clutch-in for wave = depress gear lever all the way

dont think bro tyrian needed to do that to push the bike leh....

i wanna ask a question about the wave, sorry if its been discussed before in this thread, but its 80++ pages long donno how to read thru all :cheeky:

the wave has no clutch right? i've done clutchless shifts upwards on my phantom, i know how that works, but clutchless shifts down will spoil the bike. even if it wont, the very sudden engine break will make one lose a little control. so how does this work on the wave? and how does it go into neutral?

my dad thinking of getting either wave or y125z, obviously i'll park my name on the insurance if he does get either one, so i wondering how the wave works. thanx.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

for honda wave right... it's indeed a cluthless system... when to know how to shift up gear? hear the engine sound loh... but since there is no clutch, you may worry that it will damage the engine... but actually, no... it doesn't.

but if in any case that u need to "clutch in" for any reason, just hold onto the gear lever will do... what do i mean? let's put it this way... when u wanna shift gear, u press down the gear... when u press down, usually u will release the gear straight n slowly release clutch... in the wave, when u press on the gear lever, it's actually "clutch in"...

yes... actually, the wave does have a clutch... its built in together with the gear shifter... then u depress the gear shift slightly, the engine frees the gears (clutching in)... a full depress would engage the higher gear... one thing i've noticed is on the down gear (upshift), there is no freeing of gears... so the way to counter the jerk when dropping gears is to blip (quick opening of throttle) the throttle and upshifting at the same time... this method raises the engine rev slightly so that when u engage the lower gear, the transition will be smoother and viola!!! no jerking effect...

hi tyrian,

maybe your wave engine box is leaking?

me n my fren's wave never faced engine oil low

problem b4.

we change oil every 2000km. Mm mileage is

coming to 12000km.

some where must be leaking, i guess.

personally, i dont think much harm can arise

from mixing oils for your wave, imho.

but for my sT11, i use full synthetic, so it can

last longer and i dont have to service that often.

for my wave a cheapo oil will do fine, cos i

prefer to change it often and at every 2k.

cheers!

Hi alll,

i just saw a wave rider whose rim has the word Excel and Honda.

It is 3 spoke, not 5 or 6 that is common on the road.

The colour is black and silver, and the 3 spokes are slightly curved.

hv u guys come across this b4?

cheers!

Those type of rims can be easily bought at Johor Baru, Malaysia. It cost my friend RM400 to get it fix on his red wave...

Dat's why la u never check engine oil right? Come I SHARE with all wave riders here who love their wave engine. If use fully synthetic i notice it starts to evaporate after the 2000km mark. So after 2200km can check liao. If go down then top up or change engine Oil la to get tip top performance. Just thru my experience.

I mix mineral with my fully synthetic b4. No side effects la as long as u take care the level of the engine oil in the engine.

No Leak and engine oil low? I guess it's time for u to change engine oil the best solution. The viscosity becomes very thin already i guess which leads to high evaporation when used.
