This GPS map good meh? so far what i have heard MapKing is the best for phone leh. I tried the Mapking R12 is not bad...fast respond but too bad the map never update too much. Now looking for Mapking2007...but dont know where to find free one.

 

If I am not wrong, Mapking is not a free map. If you want update, you got to pay for it. Update is not as constant.

 

As for Garmin, you can use the free maps downloaded from MalSing forum. They almost have updates every month or so. Another good thing is that they have POI(point of interest), like red light camera(updated regularly), speed trap areas, makan places... etc.

 

I have used a couple of GPS software, none beats the Garmin software becos the interface is very user friendly and buttons are big enough for our fingers to trigger, other softwares have small icons which you may need stylus to trigger them.

Oh yah Dinie, Did your Pipercross filter u pre paid and ordered a few months back arrived yet? Where u ordered it from? I thinking of getting some stuff but the order delay super long i quite scared...

Nah not yet.. probably still in the factory. Ordered it from Equipment Extreme.. well up to you man. i placed my order on 24th Oct 08 but it still hasn't arrived.. thought can buy myself a birthday present for the 31st of the same month.. so might as well buy other brands like BMC from Unique. should be more readily-stocked. anyways, like they say. good things must wait.. so for now its time to chill..

 

wah why so many 'removed unrelevant facts?' hmmm i smell legal threats in the air.. damn gone are the days where people in forums can freely give their opinions about certain stuff. say only kena shoot like dead bird. either that or the forumers of today(in general) are too stupid to differentiate between right and wrong so you say anything here only all of them will get misled. so cannot post freely.

I think this issue has been discussed many times. Sorry to shoot you down like this. We, forumer, do not know the actual price as we do not own a bike shop. The best way is for you to go around shops and ask.

 

Once again I am so sorry to shoot you down. If I dun answer, the rest will give the same reply also.

 

Do your homework. If lazy, just go to the nearest biggest shop and order from there. Please note that GSR400 is a Parallel Imported bike. GH won't entertain.

Hello everybody! I saw some recent posts saying that we can use GPS on the non-camera E51.. do I need any hardware in order to use the GPS function or do I just need to install some software into the phone? Many thanks in advance! Cheers! =)

First of all, I am not trying to bad mouth your product. If you have any GSR client who have installed it, you can recommend him to review your product to us so that all of us here will be poisoned and go get it installed on our bike.

 

I will not state who and where I have heard such tales about how power abuser has "harmed" their bike... but I have personally seen photos of it being dismantled and saw the internal of power abuser. Nothing much to talk about... you yourself know better.

 

Anyway, I will not start a flame war here. If breadpower insisted on installing it, it's up to his decision.

Feel like i gotta do this so here goes..

i am basicaly a skeptic when it comes to adding electrical stuffs on my bike. And if i do really install, its base on first hand experience from close and respectable friends not hearsay.I have tried the R***ec and i am not as impress as the PA Auto and Ignite i had on today together with my friends. Years back i had Elson fix the grounding cables on my bike thru another X11 rider whom i trusted and immediately, i felt the smoothness to my machine. Then i backside itchy went to install the R***ec and the feeling wasnt of no difference after installation. Same for other X11 riders who had their R***ec installed and we took it out. But the same cant be said for the set which i had on today, immediately, you can feel the difference ...

1) engine vibe is seriously reduce in low speed

2) respond much much better

3) fuel comsumption still monitoring (as i just had it on)

 

Plus the seriousness and attitude of Equipment Extreme when they fix up our bike, very professional. All question and doubts are answered, convicing me immediately. All i can say is that these guys knows their stuffs well and back their products with facts not just by mouth. Dun believe me go visit them. Friendly chaps, have a good chat with them to understand their products before digging your hands into you pockets.

 

Altogether me (X11) and my friends (CBR1000 & ZX12) did up the bike today. We were all very happy and consider it a good investment.

 

Of cos we had the idiotic grin on our face once we hit the highway on our way home and we all came to the same conclusion ....

Personally I do not own a E51, but if I am not wrong, it does not have build-in GPS. Your E51 is running on Symbian OS 9.2, hence it is possible to install a 3rd party GPS software that allow you to pair with a bluetooth GPS receiver.

The Nokia E51 lacks a built-in GPS receiver, though, so to take full advantage of Nokia Maps you'll need to link to one via Bluetooth." - taken from http://reviews.zdnet.co.uk/hardware/mobilephones/0,1000000686,39291372,00.htm

 

A bluetooth gps receiver does not come cheap, est. >$200 ... hence I think if you do not have a bluetooth gps receiver already, then it is no point to consider having GPS function on your E51. On the other hand, if you have the cash to get the bluetooth GPS, it will be still be a burden to carry your handphone and the receiver whenever you want to use GPS.

since you're open for feedback, just thought i'd give u some.. u state that your shop is open from 12-8pm but seems to me it's only open from 6-8pm. out of the three times that i visited your shop only once did i find someone in the shop. that time also i had to walk up the stairs to a dark shop catching you by surprise. that was 4pm btw. there was once i had to wait for you in the empty shop for two hours from 5pm-7pm. i could have spent that two hours doing something more meaningful. as they say, time is money.

 

no offence and hard feelings ah Elson. just feel that you should be more professional in the way you present your business.

 

on the other hand, the XTRE works great..

Now the XTRE is sumthing to go for. Tested and proven by our GSR riders. Not the old TRE but the new XTRE. Not to worry bout the gear indicators as it stays stock as well. Good investment. Paired with PC3, aftermarket filters, midpipes and end cans, good set of brake hose and u are good to go man.

 

Oh yah Dinie. Found out that u could ship pipercross filters within 15-30days at around $70sgd. U could check the Exiled Mod for that. Hahahah. U may wanna consider getting a refund as its already been so long yet no response. Plus at a reasonable price.

yes, time is money. Actually all our regular call us for appointment, just like dino , ryan & boyboy etc in your forum. We want to commit more time to 1 bike then keeping them waiting just like tradition workshop does, do your bike halfway then go do other stuff... (past experience when i was riding - pissed cos sometime small things can wait for hours...) We are more to distribution at times we are at other workshop troubleshooting or taking measurement on custom slider for clients. We provide delivery & installment purchase too.
