true lar bro.. it's not our position to tell them what to do. but i just don't want them to start thinking, "f*ck! i should have listened to their advice.. had i listened to them, this wouldn't have happened.." should something bad(touch wood) happen.. you know what i mean?

well, we did our best to advice them but the rest is up to them. at most if something bad do happens, we still extend our hands to help out cuz tht what are buddy for.

before you can even go to sussy settings, i suggest you start with the basics 1st. i'm no hardcore Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa rider but i'm giving my advice so that you can have a safe time at track.

1) Engine Oil. if it's time to change your engine oil already, don't even think of going for a track session. a track session = high revs all the way = stress for the engine. stress for the engine is good, but you need to have good oil so that the parts will be well lubricated.

2) Tyres. it's very important that you use the right pressures. for me i use 31psi for the front and about 30psi for the back. also, make sure you go a few easy laps first to warm up the tyres. don't rush into the session. you have one hour, don't worry.

3) Chain. hard acceleration and deceleration transmits tremendous forces through the chain. so make sure your chain is well lubricated and moving smoothly. you definitely don't want a snapped chain in the middle of a very tight corner. or else it's Sayonara Baby!

4) Mirrors. take them out from the stem. at speeds above 130km/h the mirrors will fold inwards. useless crap. so take them out and leave it in the pits. and most importantly... DON'T LOOK BACK! just take your intended lines and don't make sudden changes. the rider behind you will 'know' how to overtake you.

5) Suspension settings. for me the stock rebound on the bike is excellent, so i don't mess with it. been reading a lot about suspension settings, they claim that your static sag for front and back should be about 6cm. sit on your bike and get your friend to help you measure the sag when you are sitting on the bike in your riding position and when you are not sitting on the bike.

after doing that, my cornering speeds increased tremendously and i feel very confident when taking a corner. NOTE: this is just a rough guide and not professional advice. it works for me but it might not work for you. so take your time and fine-tune the adjustments.

6) Mental and Physical. Drink lotsa water as a track session can be very tiring and dehydrating. always tell yourself that you're there to test the limits of the bike(not to see how low you can corner and stuff), have fun and not to get the best lap times. love your bike and your bike will love you back and 'take care of you'.

That's all for now.. Have fun dude! =)

har har har... i go to track with my mirrors on... too lazy to remove them. i go to track to attack the corners... very syoik, taking the corners at speed. imagine the line tht gonna take, adjust the speed before entry, maintain speed during the corner, then hard throttle to exit the corner. do it at the correct gear then u have a tank slap.... fuuyoo! the feeling is toxic!

Aite! thanks! Great pointers...both bike wise and rider wise...will try to track once i cud find time from my work schedule...but i think the prepping of the bike will take sometime too...i'll take note of the susser and tyre pressure settings..

Hmm...read a book regarding track riding...A Twist of The Throttle by Keith Code... written, tat to 'safely' get thru a corner, like you typed, adjust speed before entry...finish all braking also before cornering...crack open the throttle as early in the corner as possible(preferably befor the apex)...then roll-on the throttle all the way thru...DO NOT WHACK OPEN the throttle...as it might cause the bike to send a sudden rush of power to the rear wheel and might cause it to lose grip...

tried the above on the roads, and it sure does help in corners...to me even though we shudn't speed thru a corner on public roads(which at times i do), the above does help in building confidence while cornering, even at low speeds...

also, i have noticed that you'll get a better speed when exiting a corner when the above is done...helpful especially when ur going thru a filter and suddenly the light turns green and the malaysian bikes are gunning towrads you...

no lar bro. asking is ok. but i don't know if its just me. just that you've been asking abt paintwork before. then now you're asking about paintwork again. but still stagnant. you're prolly gonna ask abt paintwork again three months from now. so my point is, when you're ready to do everything, do everything one shot lar.

it's true that it doesnt mean you'll never do sth abt it. but ask yourself this question.. when will you ever do sth about it? today? tomorrow? or when it's too late? i pray that everything goes well and that it'll never be too late. but sometimes sh*t happens. so it's your choice if you wanna let that sh*t happen. i'm just concerned for my fellow riders..

true lar bro.. it's not our position to tell them what to do. but i just don't want them to start thinking, "f*ck! i should have listened to their advice.. had i listened to them, this wouldn't have happened.." should something bad(touch wood) happen.. you know what i mean?

Doesnt it dawn on us that I am gonna do something about it that is why I asked?

Thanks so much for the concern, I deeply appreciate it and sincerely do cos its through this forum where there were questions asked and advice given that I did learn a lot of things, opinions, views on many issues associated with the bike...

and eh bro azme, that one your friend really got serious prob cos its a brake caliper, the sole device that governs your braking capacity...

I wouldnt do the same in that situation, safety does comes first...

aiyah, both the front n rear suspension can be adjust at the track pit-stop mah... go a few round at the track, then pit-stop, adjust the suspension, then move off again to track to test the setting then do it all over again. well as what dinie mention, u got 1 hour to the circuit.

Hmm...read a book regarding track riding...A Twist of The Throttle by Keith Code... written, tat to 'safely' get thru a corner, like you typed, adjust speed before entry...finish all braking also before cornering...crack open the throttle as early in the corner as possible(preferably befor the apex)...then roll-on the throttle all the way thru...DO NOT WHACK OPEN the throttle...as it might cause the bike to send a sudden rush of power to the rear wheel and might cause it to lose grip...

har har har... i never mention "safely" in my post mah.... :cheeky:

anyway, if u "crack open the throttle as early in the corner as possible (preferably befor the apex)", depends on the gear u are on, u will lose ur 'line' unless u counter it by 'banking' more. as the law of centrifugal, once u apply more force, u will be throw out more.... something like tht

anyway, if u do get to the track, enjoy man!

different people got different limits i guess. to me, rear brake pad thinning my balls shrink already. not that i use much of the rear brakes, but it just scares me if i were to be in an emergency situation without rear brakes..

no problem. you're right in not whacking open the throttle when you're leaned over.. if not you're gonna lowside. and if ur in a lowside don't close your throttle abruptly or it'll turn into a high side and you'll get thrown off your bike... cheers.

can gsr fix renthal handlebar? need to change anything anot?

no need to change anything if u get the 22mm bar. but take note whether the aftermarket handlebar got the alignment holes for ur switches. other than that, nothing else

tht the problem, for me to test my 'max' speed i prefer familiar terrain. m'sia is unfamiliar terrain, sekali turn the corner at high speed then saw the 'pothole', haiyo! mati liao! ha ha ha

prefer familiar terrain and own territory. like u know u the palm of ur hand.

recently....i was on the NSHW late at nite on the dark road (no highway lights other than my own headlights), i was riding at 85-90km/h, suddenly i passed something big that looked like an exploded tyre, i didnt even see the black exploded tyres infront of me untill i passed the exploded tyres even while riding at that speed... i didnt even notice it even with my headlights. soon after that i saw a truck at the shoulder of the highway with a rim with no tyre. IMAGINE if u were speeding at the highway at that time and u didnt notice the exploded tyre in ur lane and u ran over it!!!!! how bad do u think the accident will be?? will u be here reading this if that happens to u???

I always tend to speed on the NSHW, i ever ride up to 302km/hr at that highway before... but after that nite, i will think many many times before i speed..

so guys better think many many times before u speed on the highway, be it in the day or in the nite... even in the day, at a highspeed, u wont have the time to "siam" anything, like the exploded tyre for example, that might be in ur lane...

i was thankful to god, that i dont have the urge to speed at that night, even when there was an S4 who passed me at highspeed (that S4 not so fast la since i can see that its an S4, but i think to him its "very fast" since it is fitted with an aftermarket exhaust)

bros. is it easy to diy after-market handlebar?

it is actually...did it myself...but troublesome la...:)

few of my friends are using Pirelli Diablo Corsa III. their comment are the same, during wet road, its much more slippery than others.

but do a research on those tyres u mentioned...research not by asking people... but by reading thru their website on details of the tyres..

Its around the same range. I do not see a need for multiple compound. So I get 1 compound lor heheh. Some says more compound better, so they get those.

Anyway it a bit bias if you ask someone that prefer multi-compound...they would recommend the mult-compound of course. In the end, its you who will be using the tires. Maybe you can try 1 first and see if it suit you. Then next change, try the other.

I did my homework and settle for 1 compound tires. hope that helps.

your rite....it depends on the user and the usage...for razi, he prefer a single compound...for me i prefer multi compound, for hard riding thru corners....people like arzme, he prefer normal2 tyres that is good enough for his riding style...

it all depend on the user...

so PIE, it all depends on u....hehehe...ur bike, ur riding style, ur the rider, choose wisely, maybe the force be with u!!!!....

yeah, the stock balancer need to modify, need to cut the rubber smaller.. which i dont intended to do anything to stock items.. ... so if i wanna sell my bike, i will install back all original parts. but thanks anyway.. :)
